Surrounded by Georgian Bay and Lake Huron, this harbour village is a favourite for vacationers seeking both relaxation and exploration.

Natural attractions are at the heart of Tobermory’s appeal. Bruce Peninsula National Park is home to the iconic Grotto, a striking sea cave filled with vibrant turquoise water, along with scenic hiking trails that wind through forests and along rugged cliffs. Nearby, Fathom Five National Marine Park is famous for its exceptionally clear water, historic shipwrecks, and Flowerpot Island, where visitors can hike trails and admire unique limestone rock formations.

Outdoor activities abound in every season. Hiking opportunities range from easy shoreline walks to more challenging sections of the Bruce Trail, offering breathtaking views of the bay. Tobermory’s sheltered waters are ideal for kayaking, boating, snorkeling, and scuba diving, while anglers enjoy excellent fishing for trout and salmon. Cypress Lake, located nearby, provides a peaceful setting for swimming, paddling, and nature viewing.

Little Tub Harbour forms the lively heart of the town, with waterfront restaurants, shops, galleries, and boat tours. Big Tub Lighthouse offers panoramic views and is a popular spot for sunset photography. Dining options range from casual cafés to local seafood favourites, and accommodations include cozy inns, cottages, campgrounds, and waterfront lodgings.

Such a great stay for a long weekend. It does feel like the little fees all add up, but that happens no matter where you book. Even though it was a bit pricey, three adults and a dog had a great time.

All was very good, and impressive, the view was stunning. Only thing was the Master Bedroom dorr did not close fully, and branches were scraping on the eaves troughs over night. We all loved it very much, and would stay again.

Cottage stay was wonderful. Great location and amenities. Here is a list of some of our pros and cons: Pros - air conditioning in upper and lower floors - kitchen amenities such as two fridges, dishwasher made the stay enjoyable. - Covered front porch with chairs and loungers allowed us to enjoy the views of the harbour, boat traffic and arrive/departure of the Chi-Cheemaun. - 2 bathrooms was a big benefit - TV and couch area with internet services. - The outside yard for outdoor activities, such as bocce, corn-hole games and a fire pit area was really appreciated. Cons - the two smaller beds upstairs in the one room had mattresses that were not very comfortable, making sleep very difficult. Enhancing these would have made the stay much more enjoyable, taking the rating to a 5. - some missing cooking utensils, but this was our first stay here, and we will be better prepared for future stays. - some boards on the side deck by the BBQ seemed to have lost some of the support underneath, so when walking on them, they bowed down. Could be dangerous if someone steps on the wrong spot and puts their foot through the deck. All in all, this was our first time staying at this cottage and we are very interested in staying there again in the future, especially if you can replace the two mattresses. Very quiet location, close to town amenities, great for walking around, very close to the water for swimming and snorkeling. I truly appreciated the assistance and attention that Rob provided during our stay, answering any question I sent him. Thanks again for a wonderful stay. Rusty
