Located just a short distance north of Fredericksburg this cozy two story cabin will give you a sense of privacy and a chance to enjoy the views of the Hill Country. This wonderful 1800s log cabin was imported from Bowling Green Kentucky. Hand-hewn logs and hardwood floors are accented with tasteful western décor. Your hostess is a big fan of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans so this is your turn to step back in time and enjoy these wonderful finds and keepsakes. Just to give you a taste of the many wonderful items you will find during your stay—enjoy Roy Roger's saddle in the living room, the collection of horns holding eclectic worn out cowboy hats hanging above the loft, curtains hung with horseshoes, and the list goes on. This will be one property where memories will be cherished.

Entering from the porch with its porch swing and two rockers, which by the way is a great place to relax with a drink and take in all of the views of the countryside. The cabin faces West with incredible views of the sunset and stars at night which are big and bright. There are also longhorns, horses, donkeys, and all of the wildlife that we cherish in the Hill Country on the property. Inside is the living room, which boasts a fabulous limestone gas log fireplace, leather sofa and satellite television (32”). There is also a table and chairs, perfect for enjoying your meals, visiting or playing games. Behind the living room is a coffee bar with small refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker. The bath has a whirlpool tub with shower. Upstairs is a loft bedroom with a king bed.

Enjoy this thought from the homeowners, “What could be a better life in a better place—we are blessed! And we want to share it with others.”

Please Note: You are renting a cabin in the Hill Country which means you may encounter wildlife (Snakes, Deer, Racoons, ETC). Please be aware of your surroundings, and take caution while driving at night. You may also encounter the various bugs, spiders, scorpions and mice that live in the country AND sometimes do make their way inside. All properties do utilize pest control services on a regular basis BUT this does not guarantee no pests or bugs will be visible.

Oh, my - where to start?! We were met with homemade goodies on the table and in the frig, a lovely start to our Fredericksburg getaway A personal note left by the host gave us a genuine welcome. The truly vintage log cabin is so very cozy - with the night temps in the 20s, the gas fireplace was warm and delightful. The lovely loft bedroom was the best way to cap the evening. Just a short drive to the Fredericksburg Auslander restaurant, hiking Enchanted Rock, and wineries galore, we will certainly be back to this enchanted getaway!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Happy Trails Log Cabin to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary, and we couldn’t have chosen a more perfect place to mark this special occasion! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the charm of this Roy Rogers-themed cabin. It beautifully blends an old-world, nostalgic feel with modern comforts, creating the ideal retreat for both relaxation and a bit of nostalgia. The surrounding property was equally magical—peaceful, serene, and teeming with life. The donkeys, longhorns, and horses brought such character to our experience, and we couldn’t get enough of the quiet, natural beauty. Evenings spent stargazing under the expansive Texas sky were some of the most memorable moments of our stay, offering a rare sense of tranquility and connection to nature. What truly made our stay exceptional, however, was the warmth and hospitality of our hosts, Mr. Tom and Miss Kay. Their thoughtful touches—delicious baked treats, fresh fruit, and delightful conversation—made us feel so welcome and cared for. It was clear that they poured love and attention into every detail of the cabin and property, and it was a privilege to experience that first-hand.We will cherish the memories of this peaceful getaway for years to come and wholeheartedly recommend the Happy Trails Log Cabin to anyone seeking a quiet, charming, and unforgettable retreat. Thank you again, Mr. Tom and Miss Kay, for making our anniversary so special!

Love this cabin. It's always well maintained and clean. Very comfortable with everything you would need. I've stayed here several times as I love the peaceful atmosphere, the big porch with the swing and rocking chairs. The animals will come and visit and the donkeys will let you love on them. The owners are very friendly and I love visiting with them. The wonderful treats left on the table and in the refrigerator are very yummy. Awesome cabin

This was exactly what we were looking for. Slightly outside of Fredericksburg, but close enough to visit. The cabin was very clean and inviting. The cabin felt warm and comfortable as soon as we walked in. Our host was very kind and helpful. The welcome plate of fruit and cookies was an extra thoughtful touch of kindness. Highly recommend.

If you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing , picturesque Cabin on a farm, look no further. My husband and I just spent Memorial Day weekend at this cabin and we had a phenomenal time. Waking up to longhorn and donkeys in the pasture and horses roaming the property was such a wonderful experience. The homemade chocolate chip cookies, apple turnovers, muffins , and fruit was a very special treat. The property owners are a delight! You won’t be disappointed! 10 Star rating ! We’ll definitely return .

My boyfriend and I wanted a quiet place to stay to enjoy the hill country and this cabin delivered! We enjoyed watching the longhorns, donkeys, and horses as well as looking at the stars at night. The cabin itself is clean and spacious and you can tell a lot of love was put into maintaining it. There were basic amenities such as WiFi, a microwave, a fridge, and a keurig which was all we really wanted. We also loved that it was not too far from the downtown too!

It was such a cute, rustic cabin. It had everything we needed. It was so comfy, warm and clean. I loved all the western decor. Also the donkeys were super cute. It was relaxing to be able to lounge on the sofa with the fireplace going. The homemade chocolate chip cookies, yummy goodies and beverages in the fridge were a very nice and pleasantly unexpected touch. The hosts were very kind and welcoming. The only mishap that occurred was on arrival we had some tech/gos issues. The cell signal/service(no one’s fault) was weak. So we got lost. So a little tip-get screenshots/directions before heading over. We will most definitely be back and have recommended friends as well.

Happy Trails was a great surprise. It is calm, peaceful and the perfect place for porch sitting, watching sunsets and ranch animals. We devoured superb breakfast items that were left by the host. Lots of charm to this property. Country setting but close enough to easily get into town for shopping and dinner. We're planning on booking again!!

Beautiful place to stay. Everything was perfect. The front porch was a favorite for sitting out and watching the deer and livestock. Out of all the cabins I've stayed at so far this is my favorite. I will definitely go back.
