Beautiful cabin with beautiful woods in the back. The cabin appeared clean but dishes and pans seemed dusty so I had to rinse everything I used first. Bedding and towels were clean but didn't feel fresh. Went back to check the reviews because I thought I remembered seeing that the house was well stocked as essential items were missing. When I went back today to look (yes several reviews did say that), I noticed the price of the cabin dropped SIGNIFICANTLY per night for the next few months, which was really disappointing, and i am pretty salty about. There was no oil to cook with and the coffee smelled stale. For such a pricey cabin, I would have also appreciated better body soap (they provided miniature wrapped bars). There was no shampoo and conditioner, lotion, or tissues. The smoke detector started chirping the first night we were there but stopped the next day, so I didn't call. It started chirping again the second night lol. There were lots of games to play and the hot tub was nice. The town was cute and I met the mayor, but every restaurant we went to ran out of food, so eat as early as possible. We finally got in to Mad Jack's on Sunday and it was great. We were visited by elk, deer, a skunk, and even a small family of horses. The animals and hot tub were the highlight of the trip. Again, cabin was beautiful, but everything inside felt dusty. I expected better for the price we paid per night.

First off, avoid access to Geronimo via Apache Drive. It is steep, gravelly, and unless you have 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with power, you will get stuck. Yes, I did, but was able to back-up all the way down. The property itself is nice, scenic, and has the Osha trail in the back. It is close enough to walk that trail to Burro Street with no problem. It was windy and colder than heck, so unfortunately, we did not use the hot tub. The property has many stairs (no treads), so anyone with children or older individuals must practice caution, of course. The bathroom on the main floor (2nd floor), has a clawfoot slipper-type tub, but no mat. I opted to use the 1st floor shower for safety. The shower is standing room only, so if you're a little fluffy, it will be a bit crowded with body insulation. The area had many moths flying around like bats, but they soon met their untimely demise with fireplace use. Wildlife are in the area. Mule deer and a Steller Jay were the only animals we saw. The property is equipped with pots/pans, and silverware, washer/dryer and 2 TVs. One for video games, and the other for movies. The loft is for older elementary children and/or teens. We had a good time, and hope you do, too!

Loved the location. Backyard is next to trails in the forest. Careful of the native wild horses..ha tho the dominant one let us know we were close enough. Log cabin was cozy & perfect! Kids fed deer & even petted a few of them while feeding off the back deck. Ended each day in the relaxing hot tub.

The house was incredible. Impeccably clean, and well maintained. The host was very helpful. There was even a guide to the city that included their family’s story and how the cabin was built. 10/10. Hands down best Vrbo experience we’ve ever had.

This was our second stay in this gorgeous property and it exceeded our expectations once again! I can’t imagine a better place for families with children, and the backyard has direct access to trails. The neighborhood is peaceful and there is abundant wildlife to observe. We enjoyed watching the birds, deer, and horses. The location makes it very easy to enjoy the shops and restaraunts. We will be back again!

The hot tub water was cloudy and had a foul order when we turned the jets on. Other than that, we all agreed it was the best cabin we had ever stayed in! It was perfect for our family! A beautiful home in a great location! We loved the hike to Burro Street!

Beautiful cabin with everything you need. Very clean. Great for school age kids and dog friendly. We especially enjoyed the trail right outside the back door and listening to the elk bugle at night. The location was great. We would definitely recommend, and plan to stay here again in the future.

Our family enjoyed our stay at this cabin. Location and proximity to the OSHA trail was very enjoyable. Amenities were good - the kitchen is particularly well equipped to handle big family meals and it was great that they’re dog friendly. We had a couple minor plumbing problems and the owner was quick to reply and get it resolved. Minor gripe is the “just enough to get you started” for paper towels, tp, trash bags that so many properties seem to be doing now. Seems a little cheap for a property at this price point. That aside, we’d happily stay here again if we came back to Cloudcroft.

Whole family of 11 (6 adults and 5 children) met up here for 4 nights. What a great place to meet with the family! The three floors allowed everyone to spread out. The kitchen was better stocked than anywhere I've stayed before. Right up against the forest and just a beautiful house. Quality appliances and ample printed information (interaction via Vrbo chat was slow, but local contact was quick to respond). Foosball table was a nice surprise. The only word of warning would be that the notes about recommending 4WD due to the steep incline I assumed was for the driveway.. It's actually to even start to ascend into the neighborhood. If your vehicle couldn't do a 16% grade for 50-80m on a gravel road, you may not make it to the house! It was rainy and we did just fine in a FWD minivan, one of our Focus STs had some issues in dry weather, but made it up. Just something to be mindful of.

House was as listed, and offered plenty of sleeping arrangements and blankets. The only issue was it looked like the dishwasher did not work all that great. It had lots of residue and many of the utensils in the drawers were dirty. Other than that, no complaints. You are close to everything in town and lots of wildlife in the back.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. Overall rating was a 4 because the beds on the main floor were not comfortable, per the mother in laws that slept in them. I also think it would be good to put command hooks in the bathrooms for towels. The downstairs bed was amazing!!! The home is beautiful with lovely scenery. Loved the stay!!

Overall what a wonderful experience at this cabin! My family and I regularly stay at cabins in cloudcroft for vacations, we have tried many, and this will be a cabin we book again. It was very easy to get to, the information online and on the listing was plentiful. The driveway was large and easy to park 4 vehicles in. The cabin itself is beautiful, and I appreciated the mini biography written on the cabin and its construction. The view was gorgeous, and we loved how close the Lincoln forest was, being quite literally in the backyard! We had a lot of deer and animal sightings which was very exciting and magical especially for our little ones! The cabin was well stocked with all the necessities including some extra laundry detergent and dryer sheets. The rooms were great and the kids had a blast with the ps3 games and foosball table! We loved how child oriented everything was and with the exception of the stairs the entire home was very child friendly. All the children had a great time here and had so much fun with all the provided activities and toys. The cabin was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked . We have nearly no complaints other than we wish the beds were a bit more comfortable and bigger. We will book again in the future! It was well worth the price.

We will definitely be staying again. My family plans a trip to Cloudcroft about twice a year and this was by far the best place we have stayed. The house was just as listed. Clean, very well stocked, comfortable beds and so much room for kids. Having the cabin back up to the national forest was awesome. Not having a house behind us and all the wildlife was perfect. The location was perfect also just a short drive to the shops and restaurants.

We didn’t get to see snow which we were really excited about, but we got to go to the ski resort with artificial snow

We stayed there for 2 nights and enjoyed the forest view, the jacuzzi and the BBQ We realized the cabin hadn't been cleaned prior to our arrival, the contact with the host to fix this was efficient, someone showed up 15 mn after reporting the issue. We enjoyed our stay in this cabin during our recent family vacation. The cabin was very accommodating for our family of 6. The 3rd story loft was perfect for our 6 and 7 year old's that served not only as a bunkroom but also as a playroom with toys. The kitchen included many necessities to prepare meals during our stay. Although we didn't need during our stay, the cabin included a nice fireplace that would serve guests well during cold weather visits. The cabin also includes a nice hot tub that our family enjoyed access to. The location is walkable to downtown via a walking trail not far off the back deck. We would stay here again and recommend to future guests.
