Walden’s View is in a private, elevated location with beautiful mountain views. It is perfect for a couple or a small family.

It is a true log cabin with all-wood tongue and groove interior and salvaged wood floors, a cathedral ceiling and wood spiral staircase. The kitchen boasts reclaimed barnwood cabinetry and stainless appliances.

From the front deck you can listen to the tree frogs, or hear an occasional moo from a cow or gobble from a wild turkey in the valley below. Fireflies light the summer night sky and the scent of honeysuckle fills the air in the spring.

In the living room, curl up in front of the wood-burning stone fireplace on the sleeper sofa. Firewood can be purchased from grocery stores in town. Entertainment includes a 65” plasma smart tv with Blu-ray.

The cozy queen bedroom is on the main level and has an LCD flat screen satellite tv. The main level has a full bathroom with shower/tub combination as well as a separate half bath. These are both located directly off the living room and the half bath is the doorway right next to the master bedroom.

The circular staircase leads to the loft where you can play pool while watching the game on a flatscreen tv. A second bedroom and bath with shower are also upstairs. This bedroom provides a twin over full futon bunk bed, and a flatscreen tv with an XBox and plenty of games.

The front deck offers a gorgeous view, seating, rocking chairs, and a gas grill. Return from a busy day at Dollywood or from hiking through the Park, turn on the string lights and some music, grill a steak, pour a drink and relax in the hot tub!

From “Walden’s View” you can be in Pigeon Forge in 25 minutes for all the action, or go to the quieter side, where you’ll find Townsend, Cades Cove and an entrance to the National Park. In either direction the drive through the valley is stunning. Whaley’s, an upscale grocery store, is just 6 miles away! Kroger is about two miles farther.

We live 4 hours from our cabin, so our friends at 'Great Cabins in the Smokies' manage the property locally. This means you can rest assured there is local assistance if you have any problems.

The cabin also has wireless internet and internet-based phone service, so long distance calls are no problem.

Note: Our cabin is at the top of the road, which is what provides such a beautiful view. It is pretty steep and was recently paved (May 2021). We have no issues getting to the cabin in a car or an EV. All wheel drive is not necessary.

PETS: We accept dogs (no more than 2) with a MAX WEIGHT of 50 lbs each. No exceptions. Please do not request a booking with a dog of over 50 lbs. Our pet fee is a per pet rate.

When arriving we were disappointed to find the cabin needing cleaning attention. The toilets were clean but appliances were grimy and dusty. We were also disappointed with the view via the deck. This was a major reason that we picked this cabin. The picture advertised is not what it is now. There were mimosa trees that have grown so tall that they have blocked the majority of the view that was advertised. The view from the upstairs pool room was beautiful but the room is inside and not a room for relaxation and comfort. The WiFi was also quite choppy and buffered often when trying to watch a movie. An apology was given when we called about the cleanliness and a small refund of 75 was given. We made the best of our stay but for the price we paid, which was over 2000 for Friday to Friday, demanded cleanliness and the view we paid for. The surroundings were private and pleasant even though there were neighbors all around, the trees made it seem as though we were the only ones around. The hot tub was nice and clean and was enjoyed. The outside grill was filthy and therefore not used. We also had to rewash some of the dishes that were put up. Overall, the cabin needs better attention for guest. We hope this helps in order for future guests to be better served.

Very cute cabin high in the hills away from all the touristy chaos, but just close enough to all the attractions. Great place if you are looking to escape and just relax.

So quiet and relaxing. No one around to bother you other than mother nature. The cabin is stunning. The extra touches made for your comfort are extra thoughtful. Will stay here again if the future lets me. We didnt want to leave. Having coffee on the deck in the morning was wonderful.

We were traveling back from New York to our home in Texas. Stopping here after the chaos of New York was exactly what we needed. The cabin is immaculately clean, has everything you could possibly want so quiet that we slept better than we had in quite a while, close to pigeon Forge and Dollywood, and all the other tourist attractions, but far enough away, so that you are surrounded by seclusion and peacefulness, it was just me and my wife and it was exactly what we needed to start the new year. Thank you for letting us stay at your cabin.

Nice cabin with great views. Lots of amenities at the cabin and it was about 12-15 minutes from the main road in pigeon forge. Good communication with the staff through email. Big TV in living room. Fireplace is wood burning. The only issue that we had was there is no fan in the master bedroom and no air circulation in the master bedroom. This detracted from the overall experience.

We had a good Thanksgiving at this cabin. When we got there we found out that the wifi had been cut on the mountain somewhere which wouldnt have been too bad but there is no cell service there. It got fixed around noon the next day. Carolyn at the property management office was very attentive in helping us figure out what was going on. Only thing i would say I would that could be improved is the futon mattress upstairs needs to be replaced. It is pretty uncomfortable.

This was our first time visiting Tennessee and it was truly amazing. The cabin was beautiful and peaceful. Very clean. The location was absolutely beautiful. We spent 80% of our time at the cabin the view from the porch was breath taking not to high up but not at the bottom. Check in was smooth andGreat Cabins in the Smokies, LLC employee was so polite and made it a point to make sure we knew where we was going. This is the only cabin we will be staying at when we visit Tennessee! We had such a wonderful experience. -The Weyants
