Our family of 4 really enjoyed our winter break stay! The Chalet was just as described & in photos. The Christmas lights & decor were such a lovely little treat and added to the coziness as we sat by the fire. The hot tub was wonderful, kitchen well stocked with pots & dishes, and spacious enough for the 4 of us to snuggle in. We hiked a couple days, enjoyed Miguel’s pizza and grabbed a coffee from Daniel Boone’s. We’d stay again!

The property is beautiful and the cabin was exceptionally clean. The kitchen was well stocked with every tool, utensil pot and pan you could ever want to use. The property surrounding the cabin is wooded and very quiet. I would absolutely recommend this cabin to all of my friends and family.

I arrived approx dusk so it was a little nerve racking by myself as it was beginning to get dark and the roads to the cabin are very narrow and not clearly marked. When I arrived the code I was given did not work. I contacted the owner with text and phone with no response, it was now dark with no outside light left on. I contacted the emergency number provided with no response. It was now 9pm pitch black se I called VRBO CS after about another 40 minutes with her going back and forth with the manager giving me a completely different code then provided with my check in information as well as additional direction to add the code 2x I was in at almost 10pm!! Pitch black outside, exhausted and very frustrated with communication. The cabin was nice but they really do not make any effort to make it convenient with little things which would be nice considering the location and no stores nearby. I was suppose to have enough laundry soap for a load but there was none, the bath towels were thin, instructions to shake the handle of toilet if it won't stop running and a cleaning list for check out that made me want to submit an invoice. I actually had to shut the water off to the toilet because it would not stop running even with the shaking. Not sure what cleaning fee was for except washing 1 set of sheets. I requested some compensation for the horrible communication and delay in check in but VRBO said they received no response from the owner so they did nothing further.

This is a darling, beautifully decorated cabin in a great area with a comfortable king bed (can't attest to the queen because we didn't use it), an extremely well stocked kitchen with empty pantry to use (fyi: no paper towels, as the listing does mention bringing your own), a large, beautifully remodeled bathroom, 2 lovely covered porches, a nice hot tub, and a washer and dryer. Be aware that the drive back to the cabin is long and pretty hilly, and the driveway itself is gravel (with a little turn around), but we had no problems when it came to trailering our 2 motorcycles behind our van and maneuvering it all in the driveway. Loved the privacy and how incredibly QUIET it is!!! My only suggestion would be a new couch... this one looks fine but has seen its useful life so it doesn't offer the comfort and support we were looking for after a long day of hiking and riding. Not a deal breaker, but worth noting as it's the main piece of furniture for relaxing.

The Flying Squirrel was a great place to stay. Very relaxing stay. We enjoyed sitting by the fire every night outside in the very private back yard. The hot tub was a nice bonus, very good for sore muscles after hiking all day. The location was perfect. It was close to everything we came to enjoy. We hiked to the top of natural bridge, hiked to Creation Falls and also hiked a few easy, shorter trails in the area. We dove through Nada Tunnel and ate at several nearby very good restaurants. We also did the SUP Kentucky Crystal Kayak Tour and went ziplining right in the community where our cabin was located. So convenient to everything. I'd stay at the Flying Squirrel Cabin again for sure. Great trip!

The cabin was nice but it was extremely stressful. I would really rather talk to the owner, not management. There was 1 towel per bathroom, not that I could use them anyway. Luckily I brought some from home.

Quiet, private home near hiking in Red River Gorge/Daniel Boone National forest. We enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen and spending time in the hottub or just lounging in the living next to thw fireplace

The Flying Squirrel was a very nice and clean cabin. Very private. Recommend highly. Only suggestion would be to have more than one bath towel per person. Needs a better marking of house number by the driveway. And sign higher off ground with lights.
