This spacious (1,650 square foot cabin) and comfortable 3-bedroom/2.5 bathroom home is located Lake Front on Lake Wedowee in the Possum Trot subdivision. Our home has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing vacation. Relax in style and enjoy this beautifully furnished and tastefully decorated vacation home on one of the cleanest lake in the Southeast. Possum Trot has its own boat landing and playground. Thehome is located lake front and has spectacular, open water views to match. Hardwood floors are throughout the house on the first floor and you will be delighted with the feeling of mountains and water around you! There is a living room with a stone fireplace and big screen TV that is open to the dining area and a spacious kitchen. The kitchen is well stocked and has generous cabinet and counter space with stainless steel appliances. Off of the kitchen you will find a half bathroom and the laundry room. Relax in the master bedroom on the main level, which includes a Queen size four-poster bed (bed is very high off the ground- steps provided)with a flat screen TV. Off of the master bathroom there is a large cedar walk-in closet (made from the cedar trees that were removed to build the home). You can also walk out on to the back deck from the dining area or the master bedroom. The home offers a large wrap around deck which overlooks the lake and has a gas grill and is the perfect place to enjoy your morning cup of coffee or rock in a rocking chair. Upstairs you will find two large bedrooms and a full bathroom with a shower/tub combo. One of the large upstairs bedrooms has 2 queen beds and a futon with a flat screen TV. The other large upstairs bedroom has bunk beds, twin bed with trundle bed and a flat screen TV. There is also a deck off the bunk bed room that looks down over the lake. This gorgeous home with a tin roof can sleep up to 11 people. All towels, linens, dishes, and cooking utensils provided. Our home is completely furnished, beautifully decorated and VERY clean and well-maintained. Walking down to the water there is a gently sloped walkway (15 steps). You will find a covered public pavilion, our hammock, our dock and swings. We also have a very large grassy side yard next to our cabin. We offer a paddleboard, paddleboat, 2 man inflatable kayak, 1 man kayak, and fishing poles. We also have a portable fire pit for bon fires and s’mores. Our TV service is with Direct TV and we also offer a DVD player with the home. NO pets and NO smoking.

You will experience some of the best fishing and swimming on the lake. Possum Trot and this home are located on a secluded cove off of old 431. The view across the lake is one of trees and hills since nothing can be built here. Our home does not offer deep year-round water however during the months of April through October we do have deep water. Our rental prices are higher during these months however our cabin is very relaxing and enjoyable even during the months without water while you enjoy our stone fireplace and tranquil setting of our home on the lake. Our home is a lakeside getaway with a mountain feel! The property is an easy 1.5 hour drive from Birmingham or Atlanta and approximately 1 hour from Auburn, AL. Near by attractions include Antique & Gift Shops in downtown Wedowee, Cheaha State Park (features the highest point in Alabama, hiking and mining for kids & 3 waterfalls), Six Flags over Georgia (1 hour drive), Talladega Motor Speedway, Talladega National Forrest, Richard Petty Driving Experience (40 minute drive to Talladega), Cider Ridge Golf (Oxford, AL), and Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, AL.
Just 4 miles from downtown Wedowee. Minutes to grocery stores, drugstore, and other shopping (Super Walmart a short drive away). You can now buy beer and wine in the local grocery stores (Yes... Wedowee/Randolph County is now 'wet'!). Several nice family style restaurants within 15-20 minutes including excellent Lynnie Bo’s-seafood-live music on weekends, Mexican, Pizza, and 'Southern-style' cuisine... check out the popular 'Top-of-the-River' Restaurant in Anniston. Also, Lakeside Marina restaurant (for catfish, burgers,) is accessible by boat and has nice outdoor seating. Also, El Chilar Mexican restaurant (near the Hwy 431 bridge) has great food, excellent service and now serves beer and Margaritas. Wedowee has a new coffee shop - First Light Coffee on Main Street.
