Cabin was rustic as we expected and wanted. Everything we needed was available. Just some suggestions to improve the stay would be to have dry firewood available for the fireplace, some additional tree removal around the driveway to make it easier to climb the mountain. Some spots my truck barely fit through. Better heating on the lower level as all the warm air rises in the opening above the living room. Other than those minor suggestions, it was a beautiful place to spend our family time.
Great cabin!
We arrived after dark and it's a bit treacherous going up the mountain the first time, but the owners were looking out for us and helped us get there safely. Great owners who know the area well and were just so helpful! The location was perfect for us, since it was quiet and secluded, but a short drive to Asheville and the surrounding tourist spots. Thanks to Roger and Denise--we will stay again!!!
The cabin is extremely cute and very comfortable. The owners were very helpful. The first night we noticed that the grill was in poor shape and the owners promptly brought us a grill for us to use. We will be back.
Our family stayed and had a great time. We were very close to Asheville and enjoyed an evening downtown. The boys woke up Saturday and ran a Spartan just east of Asheville. The girls woke up to enjoy the sunrise at Max Patch. It was a great central location for our adventures. The hosts were great.
Owners were wonderful. The cabin had everything we needed and more. So very peaceful. The road up was not what we expected, a little heads up would have been nice. Our van scraped a few times but we got in down in a day or 2. Would definitely stay again.
I wanted a place that was wooded and in the mountains. That is exactly what I got. The hosts were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.
Lovely getaway for the weekend. Appreciated Gay’s hospitality.
Wonderful, secluded, comfortable 3-bedroom cabin. No cell service but good internet We made good use of the firepit. We spent our days hiking off the Blue Ridge Parkway and our nights in the comfort of the cabin. Highly recommended.
Good
We enjoyed our stay! It was secluded and quiet just how we like it. We took day trips to hike, visit Asheville and toured the Biltmore. The owners were very sweet and gave us a friendly greeting when we got there.
The cabin was perfect for my little family. Not a lot of bells & whistles but that is exactly what we did not want. The neighborhood was just great. Super neighbors that waved when we drove by. (which I always appreciate) The girls just loved that you had to go through a little creek to get to the cabin and were surprised by the trout pond too!! We had a lovely fire in the pit and loved hearing the creek run. Listening to the rain on the roof on our last night was a pleasant surprise!! Will probably stay there again!!!
The cabin was exactly what I was looking for. So many mountain getaways now look more modern and airy. Although beautiful, I live at the beach in FL, so I am looking for cozy with a great fireplace. This is it! I was a bit worried about the drive up the property to the cabin, but my Cadillac ATS did fine. Of course, as stated, it would not be good in freezing weather. I had to work online and the internet was wonderful. Even though there is no cell service with Verizon, I was fine with the iPhone using internet. Thank you for your hospitality and for sharing this beautiful place!
A cabin in the mountains, private access, comfortable beds and bedrooms, cozy living room, clean bathrooms and cabin. No cell service was not an issue for u s. You didn't have to drive far to be back on the grid. We toured many sights in Ashville and drove to the smokies for a healthy hike. The location of the cabin was perefect for this. Thanks to Gay & Larry for making our stay wonderful. Especially the tasty bisquits.
It was great thank you for everything
We absolutely loved our stay! Meeting Gay and Larry was a huge bonus and are such kind folks. Gay greeted us with soft, warm yeast rolls and were delicious! Cabin was clean and well stocked. We hope to go back again in the near future! ** Only suggestion would be to put the fire wood in a container. It had rained so much the fire wood was too wet to burn. Thank you!
I traveled with my young adult daughter and her friend. We each had a private bedroom and we enjoyed the common spaces, especially the screened porch, to spend time together. The owner so kindly delivered a batch of delicious, fresh baked rolls to us on our arrival. We would like to visit again when we can stay longer.
We just had a wonderful stay at this adorable cabin. There was plenty of space for the 6 of us (2 adults, 4 kids). Also, I may have missed this in the listing but there is a futon in the tv loft area upstairs. This was perfect as we were able to separate out our 6 year old boy and 7 year old girl into seized sleeping areas, while the 11 and 13 year old girls shared a room. The koi pond in the property was loads of fun for the kids. The Glenn’s are the sweetest hosts, being by baked goodies and toys gif the kids. We’ll stocked kitchen and cabin. Comfortable beds. Great hiking trails 40-45 min away and Asheville less than 30 min away too, so location was ideal. It’s a true gem.
