Kenai, Alaska
Exterior:
Anticipate fresh, clean Alaska air, aroma of spruce and birch, the cry of Bald Eagles as you arrive at this cabin. In summer months, the property is surrounded by verdant green and majestic forests. The vast sky of stars and aurora borealis provide winter splendor. This cabin is located on our private, one-acre estate abutting hundreds of acres of DNR (Department of Natural Resources) land.
Your Superhosts here are a husband-and-wife team living the dream on this pristine estate. We’re on hand to support our guests as little or as much as they wish!
Our estate has a huge sloping yard with fire pit, benches, picnic tables, gardens and a nature trail that are shared spaces. The nature trail heads up the bluff toward deep forest. The edge of the yard/bluff gives way to a drop roughly 75 feet down to the beach. (Due to erosion, we do not permit beach access from our bluff.) However, there are other beach access points just a mile up the road. These local Kenai beaches are a magnificent place to explore and find colorful agates!
Cabin guests will follow a boardwalk from the parking area to the cabin. Views from the bluff, and from the covered front porch of this cabin are truly phenomenal. Vast Alaska skies, vibrant sunsets, iridescent northern lights. From the cabin porch, guests will see three notable mountains: Mount Redoubt, Mount Illiamna and Mount Spur. Mount Illiamna is a live volcano; small puffs of smoke are frequently visible. Twin Glaciers are just to the right of Mount Redoubt.
Guests will enjoy bird watching and witnessing the diversity of marine life. For example, in late August, thousands of Beluga whales pass across the seascape following the running salmon. The covered front porch of this cabin, with its hand-carved wooden bench, is a perfect spot to enjoy a morning cappuccino while listing to songbirds and crashing rhythms of ocean waves.
Interior:
Inside the cabin in summertime, ocean breezes will keep you cool. In wintertime, the small heater is more than enough to keep you toasty warm. The cabin is fully furnished. The kitchen is stocked for light cooking.
The kitchen boasts a sink, compact counter space, cabinets, mini-size refrigerator, a small oven and cooktop, and coffee/tea station. The coffee/tea station includes an assortment of teas, whole freshly-roasted coffee beans, grinder, milk frother, pour-over carafe and filters all included.
Kitchen cabinets are stocked with how many sets (four-sets) of dishware, mugs, silverware, and pots and pans/what type of cookware Coffee, tea, cocoa, oil, vinegar and an assortment of basic spices are provided.
A small dining table seats four and is perfectly suited for a home-cooked meal, or a smorgasbord of ripe produce from the local farmer’s market. This majestic land is famous for its bounty of fresh foods! A large picture window at the front of the cabin, above the dining table, offers dramatic views of the bluff seascape, mountains, glaciers, and sky.
The main floor of the cabin has a full-size futon bed (very comfortable! Great quality!) The upper loft, accessed by a wooden ladder, has two twin beds. (Brand new! Very comfortable!) The cabin has large windows that offer plenty of natural light during the day. Adjustable shades and premium black-out curtains ensure guests a restful night’s sleep in the land of the midnight sun.
Alaskan-themed art and décor are touches that enhance the ambiance. Maps of the Kenai peninsula, fishing charts, seascape paintings, as well as bear-fur rugs, and wildlife photography adorn the cabin.
The cabin has a full bathroom (tub and shower) plush towels, soap, and shampoo. There is hot water, but the water tank is small. Showers need to be short!

Guest access
Guests have full access to this lovely and cozy year-round 1BR/1BA cabin. The cabin is located on a private one-acre estate where your superhosts live in a main house. We strive to give guests privacy but assist if needed. The cabin has its own parking area, and a boardwalk from the parking area to the cabin. Shared areas of the property include… a huge yard, with fire pit, picnic tables, benches, gardens, and greenhouses. A nature trail climbs the bluff into the forest. Beach access is not permitted from this property (we are mindful of erosion of the bluff) but there are other beach access points just up the road.

Animals:
Alaskan communities are known to be in wildlife and domestic animal habitat, so it is advised that all guests take the necessary precautions to not put themselves in harm’s way by approaching or being approached by any animals.
Owners have 2 dogs on property. Photo of Mr Darcy and Miss Connie in description. They are super friendly Speagles (Springer/Beagle) who love to run and play and maybe greet you. Please let us know if you have any issues and we would be glad to keep them on leash during your stay with us.
Security:
Discover Kenai has outdoor security cameras pointed towards driveway, parking and wooded area. We mostly use this footage to detect large animals like Moose and Bear that may be on property.
Beautiful view! Wonderful cabin!
The cabin is perfect for an individual or couple who wants to see amazing views and sunsets. The cabin and location are exactly as described and the host was great to communicate with. We enjoyed our stay and loved how the cabin was centrally located to shops, restaurants, and outdoor activities too.
We had a wonderful and relaxing time celebrating our anniversary; thanks!
My Bothers and I were in Alaska for a fishing trip and stayed at this place for two nights. The Hosts lived close and were great to talk with about the local area. It has an awesome view of the Cook Inlet and not that far out of town. I would stay at this place again for sure if in the area. Thanks, Shawn
I almost hate to write this because as soon as people find out about this amazing place it will be booked all the time! This cabin is so perfect! The view is beyond words! Being able to sit on the private porch and drink coffee looking over the Cook Inlet and listening to the waves roll below is so very peaceful. The cabin has everything you need and the owners are very attentive. This weekend was the relaxing peaceful retreat we hoped for and next time we do plan to stay a little longer.
Beautiful spot! Super friendly hosts.
Unbelievable view of ocean and volcanoes. Wonderful to watch the changing view over the course of an evening while roasting brats and smores over the firepit. Hosts are delightful.
Beautiful property. It was nice waking up to the sound of the ocean each morning. Perfect spot to celebrate an anniversary.
