Gatlinburg Log Cabin for Honeymooners or Just A Well Deserved Getaway

Owner and son seemed to be nice. We were celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary. When we arrived at the property, we unpacked, made the bed and got settled in. Soon after, we had killed at least a dozen black carpenter ants. We called the owner and were told that he has a monthly pest spray done and they wouldn't come back out till there next visit and brought us a can of Raid to use. I am a maintenance supervisor for 56 elderly units and know if I have a monthly pest contract if I see bugs in between visits they come back for free. We then noticed the kitchen sink was improperly plumbed and leaking. we called the owner again, he said he was sorry we had this trouble and didn't have a maintenance man on the payroll. This would be quite evident the longer we stayed. He offered us another unit, but we were already settled in and put a bowl under the leak and said no. The exhaust fan cover in the bathroom kept falling off, the bath fan motor was on its last leg and then locked up, the freezer door handle was missing, the microwave door was cracked and separating, cobwebs on all valances, toilet loose on floor and seat loose on bowl, nails sticking up from rocking chair on porch, ants in jacuzzi tub, dry white residue from 2 tub jets, had to fight to open bath door cause it scraped the floor, spiders in different areas. I text the owner pictures and all these concerns and said I wasn't mad, just disappointed and asked for a refund for 1 night for all the problems.

It was a wonderful vacation. We will definitely reserve this cabin again in the future.

It was worth the money it was clean and every and quite the location Was close to town

Wasn't overly nice but it meant our need. The price was good for the property. If you want fancy and a lot of amenities, you pay for it. The bed was ok, the couch could use replacing. You had to sit directly next to the arm or on a pillow in the middle of you wanted to sit next to each other. The jacuzzi tub was nice. Plenty of space for the two of us plus small dog. Area was pretty quiet and not too far from downtown Gatlinburg. Kitchen had microwave and there was a washer & dryer, but we didnt use either. There was also a TV but we didn't use so no idea as to the available channels. Wood burning fireplace was nice, we enjoyed a fire each night. Wood is not supplied. There were some cobwebs around but mostly clean and didn't have any odor. Suggestion for the owner: a couple of hooks on the back of the bathroom door to hang robe and/or wet towels would be nice touch. Also, as you walk into cabin, it would be nice to have a hook or two on that wall to hang coats.

Everything was great

Did not use the fireplace. Cabin was roomy and had everything that was needed. It can use a little more cleaning like cobwebs in the rafters and above the bed and in the fireplace. Couldn't get the food desposal working. Other than that it was good.

Description said it had queen size bed but it was a full size. The recliner on the sofa wouldn't close. And there was a mouse problem. My snacks were eaten before I got a chance to enjoy them.

Very private, yet convenient to all the attractions

So nasty

My husband and I rented this cabin for an anniversary weekend. We LOVED it! It was very clean, easily accesible, cozy and romantic. We loved the real wood fireplace and the quiet, relaxing setting. It was perfect for us and we highly recommend this cabin for any honeymoon, anniversary or even just a nice getaway for a couple. We will definitely return!

Brent the owner was absolutely awesome! His cabin is a wonderful quiet place in the woods. It is about a 10 minutes drive to downtown Gatlinburg and 30 minutes to Pigeon Forge. Definitely would recommend staying here..
