Luray, Virginia
Located in a quiet, peaceful mountain neighborhood (other homes are nearby), Forest Glen is warm, inviting and the perfect place to get away and relax. One can relax in the cozy living room and kitchen area and look out among the large picture windows that run the length of the cabin, or enjoy the beauty of the outdoors while grilling on the large front deck. Come evening sit around the nearby fire pit (roasted marshmallows anyone ) and enjoy the peacefulness of this relaxing mountain retreat. Forest Glen has two full bathrooms, one with a jetted tub for unwinding after a busy day.
Forest Glen is a quick 1 min drive to Shenandoah River Outfitters for canoe/kayak/tube rentals, as well as in close proximity to many access points along the river where you can enjoy fishing from the banks or picnic along the riverside. When not spending time on the river, there are plenty of activities close by to enjoy, such as horseback riding, hiking trails, golfing, antiquing, skiing, and biking. The famous Luray Caverns and downtown Luray are 20 minutes away and Shenandoah National Park is a beautiful 25-30 drive to the Thornton Gap entrance and Skyline Drive.

Lovely property in a peaceful location. Very well-equipped and plenty of space for a family. Great comms from the owners. Highly recommended!
We came to the cabin for a fall break get away. We needed WiFi access for our daughter to be able to complete homework, but wanted a relaxing stay in the mountains… and we had just that! Cabin was perfect - very clean and had all the amenities we needed. We loved that we could bring our dog as well. He loved looking out the large windows and sliding glass door. Hosts were absolutely amazing in terms of communication!! We lab to come back again. ?
Our stay here was wonderful! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. It's located in a nice neighborhood and is fairly close to the local spots. The property itself is really nice with lawn space all around and a trail going into the woods from the back. My dog really enjoyed running around in the woods!
Great property with lots to do in the area. Excellent communication from property manager and will stay again.
Hosts were great -- easy check in and timely communication. We loved the property -- Close to SNP and the river. Highly recommend :)
This was a great mountain retreat with close access to the caverns, Shenandoah National Park and a day trip to DC. Would definitely stay again!
We loved the location and how well stocked the home was. We were very comfortable and kids enjoyed playing on the yard.
House was clean. Nighttime campfires in the back yard were fun. Very, very close to river outfitters that provided tubing, kayaking, and canoe options. Beds were comfy and window unit Ac kept house cool in 95 degree heat. A bit out of town of Luray but once we stocked up on food and drink not much need to leave. Soap and shampoo provided and was appreciated. Overall, we would stay here again.
The property was as presented. Check in was a simple process. We had no issues with anything. Enjoyed watching the deer walk through the yard daily. It is not a far drive to Luray or New Market. I would recommend staying here.
David and Becky were great hosts! The house offered everything we needed and was close by to the national park and all of the caverns.
Cute and quaint cabin in a great location for exploring Shenandoah National Park. Located about 15 minutes from Luray Caverns and 30 minutes from Thorton Gap Entrance Station. The cabin was exceptionally clean. We loved that we were able to bring our dog with us! The large deck was great for relaxing/eating outside, and we enjoyed playing cornhole with the boards that were provided. We would definitely stay again!
We really enjoyed this cozy, comfy cabin. The place was really clean & spacious. We loved having the corn hole boards available & played many times. We also loved having all the necessities like extra towels, shampoo, soap, etc which was super convenient. The owners are really nice & were always available for questions. We would definitely stay here again.
Our family stayed at Forest Glen cabin for 4 days. We had a great time and everything was perfect for what we needed. I have 3 children, all boys, who really enjoyed playing outdoors and the fire pit. We spent a day at Luray caverns and we also spent a day hiking at Shenandoah. The cabin was perfect for what we needed and the boys really enjoyed the board games that are available. The gravel road gave me a bit of anxiety, but we made it! I would stay here again.
This was such a nice and quiet stay!! Kids enjoyed the place as well!!
Loved our stay. Clean, cozy and comfortable beds.
We had a lovely time at their cabin. We would recommend it for families looking for a stay in the country. They were very quick to communicate with us. I do suggest that pet parents read the pet policy in detail as it is more restrictive than most.
Well taken care of
Forest Glen fits nicely in the neighborhood even though neighbors are closer than expected based on pictures and the description. The house has plenty of towels, books, games, and DVDs. The supply of spices and aluminum foil was a pleasant surprise. The refrigerator and oven were clean and functioned properly. The hosts, David and Becky, were wonderful. Access to the property may be challenging in winter weather due to the steep road leading to the house, but, overall, Forest Glen is a nice place to stay.
We had a great time at this cottage. Very well maintained.
Lovely mountain retreat, clean house, well equipped and fairly close to our destinations for the wedding. Would recommend to others and would return when planning a trip to this area.
Great place.
My best friend/cousin very much enjoyed having a vacation and having everything in hand we needed! Will book again
We had a relaxing (short) 2 night stay and everything met or exceeded our desire for a nearby vacation that was a change of pace from our normal hectic life.
Everything was as advertised. Easy check in/out, good communication with the owners. Great location!
The owners were wonderful and and very helpful. Check-in and out was a breeze. The house is very nice, beds are comfortable and there were lots of options..fire pit, games, books, TV, brochures to activities in the area. etc. the location was very peaceful and relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay!!
We were very please with the stay and the property manager kept very good communication with us throughout our trip. We definitely recommend them. If you like staying on top of a mountain this is the place for you!!
The property had everything we needed. We really enjoyed time on the deck. We were so relaxed we never even turned on the TV, but it was great to know it was available, plus a great selection of DVDs, and some good books.
The Shenandoah Valley is a beautiful location. The access to history and nature with the Shenandoah River, National Park, and caverns kept us very busy. The cabin blended in with the rustic location and provided a very peaceful place after all our sightseeing.
Close to Luray and on a nice property with good amenities.
