My family & I spent 3 nights in this lovely little cabin. It was cozy & decorated nicely for Christmas. Beds were nice & slept well. Kitchen had everything you would need. Home was clean & nicely furnished. Highly recommend, I'd definitely stay there again..........
We enjoyed our stay in this cabin! The hot tub -and fireplace were perfect on a chilly night! Everything was clean and well-stocked. The Christmas decorations were a nice touch! We had two couples and a 7 year old, and the room arrangements were perfect for our group. It was a little inconvenient to have just one bathroom at times, but we knew that ahead of time. Those with mobility issues should be aware that the only bathroom is on the first floor, and most beds are on the second floor. Not a huge issue for us though. This is is very cute little place, and we would definitely consider staying here again! Thank you!
We had stsyed at this cabin back in May of this year and we loved it so much we booked another short getaway in the fall. It's a quaint little cabin and is in a great location. 20 minutes from Bryson City and close enough to explore other nearby parks and towns.
The trip was awesome, the rental was Clean we also wanted to let you know g& neat. Really enjoyed our stay, wanted to tell you that the fan in down stairs quick working first night.
Overall experience is very favorable. Very serene and peaceful and would stay here again. However the driveway and parking areas need to have some additional packed gravel put in place. Not everyone drives and SUV/pickup these days.
Had a blast
Nice location for day trips through the Smoky Mountains
This place is not too far from NOC and in a very quiet area. Lots of room inside but it still felt very cozy. Hot tub is nice and there is a huge washer and dryer. The front porch is nice to relax. We did have a problem getting the door open upon arrival…seemed like it stuck due to the rain. We did message Shelby through VRBO, but didn’t get a message back till a few hours later. I couldn’t find a phone number to call in the info that was sent. Fortunately, we were able to get the door open by putting our backs into it. Cell service was sketchy for us in that area, so be sure to download all the arrival information ahead of time.
The cabin met all our needs and had parking for a boat.
This property was just as advertised. We had a comfortable relaxing stay. This was our first time using VRBO and will not be our last. We definitely recommend this property!!
We had a wonderful stay at Firefly Haven! It was really cold the first night due to the record breaking low temperatures, but the next two nights were perfect! The upstairs bedroom was perfect for the kids to hang out. They said it was their favorite part of the whole trip! Our host was helpful and kind and responded quickly. This is the perfect rental for a family of four but could accommodate more. It's only about 20 minutes from Bryson City and would be perfect for those visiting for The Polar Express!
The house is located in a quiet valley, it's even cuter in person than in pictures. No matter where you are outside you hear the constant calming stream of a little brook next to the house and around the property. The hot tub was a wonderful treat after a long day of grueling hikes, and the location to me was perfect. In December there's NOBODY around, even all the roads nearby to get to the house are empty. You are 20 minutes to Bryson City, next door to the Tsali trails, super close to Nantahala National Park and the Smokey mountains and you are close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was quiet and serene, and we spent a lot of time on the porch, me on the swing and my husband on the rocking chair, just enjoying nature. We are already talking about going back in the Summer! It had everything we needed which was super convenient. It was nice not having to worry about packing toilet paper and trash bags. Michelle the host was extremely gracious and answered all of our questions super fast. We can't wait to visit again!
The little house was spotless and very comfortable. Easy to find and no crazy driveway. It was a little farther out of Bryson City than we had expected but not really an issue as the roads were so good. We did get Wi-Fi but never had cell phone service in the house. Having the land line was good though. We had rain and very cold weather so did spend time outside but in the spring or summer the little brook and fire pit and banked rhodendrons would be lovely. Great space for a family with kids.
The house itself was clean. The towels/washcloths smelled horrible...old and moldy. The shower curtain in the one small bathroom smelled like mold too when it got wet. The sheets on the downstairs bed had pills all over them, definitely old. The mattress slept like it was old too. Had a big hump in the middle. We couldn't get the air conditioner to work even after following the instructions word for word and watching a YouTube video. The upstairs room is fine if you are short and not claustrophobic. The location is pretty good but we got there at night and there are no street lights and the porch light did not work. The listing said the numbers were on the house but we couldn't see them in the pitch black. Definitely not a great stay and we won't be back to this one.
The house was great for our long weekend. It was clean and had everything we needed to be home away from home. The beds were comfy and the big couch was comfy and spacious. The teens loved the upstairs space to get away and do their wi-fi-ing. It was close to the boat dock where we rented a pontoon for the day, close to lake access where we returned to swim on another day. We arrived late and it was dark and we had a hard time finding the parking area, which we found the next morning to be just past the house to the left. Sorry we parked overnight on the side of the roadway (lol). It stormed pretty hard the first night and we lost power but after checking in with Michelle, she advised us that trees were down and was able to give us an estimated restore time from the power company. There were quite a few more cars passing through than we expected, pretty often actually and not especially slow, so we skipped taking our dogs and little to the creek play area. But it was nice to sit on the front porch and listen to the creek and watch the birds and butterflies. The teens used the hot tub once and said it was nice but had a lot of leaves and the bottom was quite sandy. We couldn’t find a net to fish out the leaves so they splashed them out with their hands. We decided to skip our turn. Overall, we had a great stay and would return.
Our uncle has cancer. This was on his bucket list. He was very weak but did enjoy his trip
Great place! Clear instructions for an easy entry. Clean. All the kitchen and bathroom provisions one could need. Comfortable bed. Perfect location for our long biking weekend at Tsali. We would definitely stay there again.
We had the best time! The cottage was very clean and well decorated. The property was beautiful! It was located about 10 minutes from Bryson City. There were plenty of cooking and bathroom supplies. The upstairs portion was perfect for kids. We hope to visit again!
Absolutely amazing weekend! Enjoyed the front porch swing!!! Plenty of room for our family of 5! The hot tub was great and being able to hear the creek was amazing. Will definitely be back!
This property is perfect if you're wanting to get away from it all. There is a creek on the front and back of the property so you have that beautiful water noise wherever you go.
