Our area of WNC is currently experiencing increased wildlife activity, particularly from bears. While it’s a privilege to share our environment with these magnificent creatures, it’s essential that we all take precautions to ensure our safety and theirs.
Please follow these guidelines:
Secure all food and garbage: Bears are attracted to strong smells. Do not leave food in your car and reattach bungee cords to trash can lids every time.
Be aware of your surroundings: Stay alert, especially during dawn and dusk when wildlife is most active.
Avoid close encounters: If you see a bear or other wildlife, maintain a safe distance and do not approach.
Travel in groups: When possible, hike or explore with others, and make noise to alert animals of your presence. Keep dogs leashed at all times.
Your cooperation is crucial in maintaining a safe and harmonious environment for everyone. Thank you for your attention and care.

The cabin is beautiful and spacious! The views are incredible! The cabin could've been cleaned a little more thoroughly but I am picky when it comes to cleanliness! The bed linens and toilets were clean. The home was well equipped with what our family needed. The oven did not work when we arrived. The rental company was easy to get in touch with and brought and installed a new stove the same day. We would stay here again!

Love the cabin, could use some updates. My cell signal gave me faster internet than the wifi. Brought our dog with us, he loved it too. Right at the entrance to Horse Branch trail so it's perfect for mountain bikers. Added a photo of our last sunrise there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. There's plenty of sleeping quarters and the amenities are nice, but the breathtaking view is unmatched. Every morning and evening you could find everyone on the deck watching the sunrise and sunset.

The house is spacious. The bunk rooms in particular really work for larger groups. Also, we really enjoyed the additional porches on the 3rd floor. The kitchen has a lot of dishes and spices which was great for preparing meals. The views are amazing and the amenities were up to par for other cabins in the area. The only drawback was the fact that there was a mouse in the house which would appear occasionally and unsettled a few guests and yellow jackets kept getting in the house somewhere.

To summarize, if you'd like a true mountain cabin with what I call a 5 star view, this is the place for you!

Very happy with the whole experience EXCEPT I feel the last turn of the directions are unclear! We arrived using GPS on our phone and the last turn said to take Double Tree Lane which wasn't on either street sign for a choice. We guessed wrong (probably our 4AM traveled all night minds!) and went straight. Then had to turn van and trailer around at top of very narrow road (scary). So turn right at last unmarked choice!! Overall-so very pleased!! Wonderful cabin and wonderful stay-and yes the view is all it says!! Thanks for a wonderful week!

This place is great for big gatherings. It has a great kitchen set up to do small preparations (you can’t run all the burners at once, but the dishwashers are amazing!) Ample bed space, four baths spread out, fun things to do and a nice hot tub! We loved it!

My sister and I had planned to have a larger group but it came down to just the two of us for the large property. We barely used most of the spaces. We spent the majority of the time in the hot tub and on the back porch overlooking the mountains. This place is gorgeous and had ever amenity you could need. The host was extremely helpful as well! Beautiful views!!!!

We've stayed at this property before when it was being managed by another compant and I must say that this stay was MUCH better! The location and view from the cabin is magnificent, just as it has been but the new owner/manager has made some changes that really seemed to make the property pop! The trees right in front of the porch have bee trimmed, really enhancing the mountain view. The kitchen has been ronovated much to the delight of my wife and daughter in law. The art in the cabin has been changed much for the better as well! To the team at Stonewood Cabins I give you 5 stars for making a family vaca someting to remember! Thank you so much!
