Terms and Conditions
Check-in is any time after 5 pm, and check-out is 11 am. We can sometimes allow early arrival or late departure for an additional fee of $25. This requires advance approval but depends on many factors, including whether your unit is occupied immediately before and/or after your stay and the availability of staff. Please message us regarding availability for your stay.
A "Cleaning and Amenities Fee" will be charged on all reservations. The amount of this fee will be set on a cabin by cabin basis. This is basically a housekeeping fee, just like most companies charge, but we named it a longer name to describe that this fee covers so much more than a basic housekeeping service. Some of the services we provide as part of this fee are listed here (note that other cabin rental companies in our area charge you extra for these items):
 Professional housekeeping service at departure
Professional hot tub maintenance by trained personnel (note that cabin companies who use housekeeping staff to maintain their hot tubs may not be taking your safety seriously
Propane for the gas grill, plus a spare tank at every cabin
Firewood for fireplaces and fire pits, including starter kindling
Trash Hauling we haul your garbage, even mid-stay if you call us (many of our competitors expect you to haul trash in your car, or they charge you an extra fee)
Rates are per night with a 2-night minimum stay required (longer for holidays). Occupancy is stated as a base number (how many people can sleep in beds) or as a range of occupancy (in which case the upper range also includes sleeping on futons or sofa-beds).
No indoor smoking is allowed. There will be a $250 damage and cleaning charge for any evidence of smoking inside of the cabins.
Pet Policy
We must know in advance if you are bringing a pet. There is a $45 charge per pet, for up to two pets. We allow more than two pets only on a case-by-case basis. By bringing a pet, you agree to the terms of our complete Pet Agreement, which provides very specific rules for pets including: no pets on furniture (including beds and sofas), unattended pets in the cabin must be crated, and many other strict requirements. If we find evidence of pets on furniture, you will be charged $100. If we find evidence of pets damaging the property, including using the bathroom in unit, you will be charged $200. The Pet Agreement also provides that pets brought without advance notice will be charged $250 plus the normal pet fee. Pets brought to cabins that do NOT allow pets can result in immediate eviction with forfeiture of remaining paid stay.
Very happy with the whole experience EXCEPT I feel the last turn of the directions are unclear! We arrived using GPS on our phone and the last turn said to take Double Tree Lane which wasn't on either street sign for a choice. We guessed wrong (probably our 4AM traveled all night minds!) and went straight. Then had to turn van and trailer around at top of very narrow road (scary). So turn right at last unmarked choice!! Overall-so very pleased!! Wonderful cabin and wonderful stay-and yes the view is all it says!! Thanks for a wonderful week!
Excellent stay. Wonderful views. Plenty of beds and Bathrooms. I would definitely stay here again.
This place is great for big gatherings. It has a great kitchen set up to do small preparations (you can’t run all the burners at once, but the dishwashers are amazing!) Ample bed space, four baths spread out, fun things to do and a nice hot tub! We loved it!
My sister and I had planned to have a larger group but it came down to just the two of us for the large property. We barely used most of the spaces. We spent the majority of the time in the hot tub and on the back porch overlooking the mountains. This place is gorgeous and had ever amenity you could need. The host was extremely helpful as well! Beautiful views!!!!
We've stayed at this property before when it was being managed by another compant and I must say that this stay was MUCH better! The location and view from the cabin is magnificent, just as it has been but the new owner/manager has made some changes that really seemed to make the property pop! The trees right in front of the porch have bee trimmed, really enhancing the mountain view. The kitchen has been ronovated much to the delight of my wife and daughter in law. The art in the cabin has been changed much for the better as well! To the team at Stonewood Cabins I give you 5 stars for making a family vaca someting to remember! Thank you so much!
Amazing cabin
The cabin was spacious and comfortable for our family of 9. Sunrises are specular. Its a drive to the top, but it really is quite convenient to Lake Fontana, Tsali Park and Bryson City. We would definitely come back!
We truly enjoyed our stay and will probably do it again!
Enjoyed Bryson City, the train, Deep Creek in Smoky Mountain National Park, Cherokee, hiking and the Nantahala Outdoor Center all from this wonderful mountain top house! Room for 9 in 4 different family groups—so space to gather and space to separate. Hot tub and fireplace were great!
We found this home to be clean, comfortable, pretty well-equipped, and possessing amazing views. Our group of three families (with kids ages 3-12) enjoyed the hot tub, outdoor dining table and fire place, the deck chairs, pool table, and Weber grill. A few things to note: -Check-in is a little late compared to most places we’ve stayed, but when we realized the week before the company did say we could check in a little earlier (for a fee). -Communication with the hosts was quick and responsive. -Internet is not very fast -We navigated the road up the mountain fine in our minivans and Honda Pilot, but it was a little difficult to navigate the first time in the dark. Getting up and down the road in the winter seems like it would be very difficult and scary, even with an AWD vehicle. -The kitchen was well-equipped and even had two dishwashers! They need to purchase some more bowls (feedback I already gave them), but otherwise it had everything we needed for cooking and eating. -There was a thunderstorm our last night and we lost power around 9 pm. As of check out at 11 am the next morning it had not been restored. We were glad we were leaving as it would have been challenging to deal with much longer. Being prepared with more flashlights/lanterns (the cabin had one small lantern) and plenty of clean water would have been helpful. Some nearby activities we did that were fun or saw and might enjoy another time: -Renting a pontoon and tube at Prince Boat Dock was a highlight! -Easy hiking to see waterfalls in Great Smoky Mtn National Park from the Deep Creek Trail Trailhead. -River tubing looked fun! -Bryson City is a cute town and looked like a nice place to explore sometime. We could see ourselves meeting up at this spot again!
The place was exactly as described. We were able to get there and in with no trouble other than a curvy, narrow trek for the last mile or so. Everything thing we used worked with no problems. The property on on a gorgeous spot just wish they would cut the trees back to open the view. The place felt like a nice retreat for our 16 person group after a long day on the river.
