The 'Fire Escape' cabin earned its name because of the vacation 'escape' that it offers the fire-fighter-owner and family. The interior decor includes fun fire service accents, making the visit fun, comfortable and unique.
From the front or back decks you are surrounded with Ponderosa Pines, Cedar, Manzanita and Oak trees. Families of deer often pass through the properties, offering a true mountain feel.
This affodable mountain cabin is in a central location, making it perfect for enjoying Sierra Mountains.

The property is just as described… super cute. Communication with the property owner was easy. Our only regret was that we could not have stayed longer.
Really great place to spend your vacation time. Everything you have at home can be found on this cabin plus the enjoyment of being close to the one of the greatest place in the Country. We’ll comeback for sure !!!
Convenient location close to Yosemite entrance, we’ll equipped space, lots of amenities for families with young children, and many tips for things to do. Great communication with host, would stay here again!
Well equipped cabin with lots of room for kids and adults to have separate sleeping spaces. Loved the deer in the front yard. Close to national forest and hiking.
What a great cabin. We got in late and immediately saw deer on the property. Our kids were very excited. Kelly was very responsive to inquiries. This cabin was just a short drive to the park entrance. The place itself was very comfortable and had plenty of board games for the kids. I would definitively want to bring my family back to Kelly’s property.
We had a great stay at the Fire Escape! From bottle opener to extra blanket, it has everything you need. Communication was good with owners. The place is well situated. It is 1h30 drive from Yosemite Valley, but the road to get there is worth it! We recommend!
What a great place to get away for a few days. We would definitely book it again if available.
Awesome places! Definitely would come back next time :)
we enjoyed our stay here at the fire escape cabin. The location to the south entrance of Yosemite was perfect. We were also pleasantly close to Bass Lake and downtown Oakhurst. If you plan to enjoy the lake, bring a umbrella, floaties and beach chairs. They do have 2 camping chairs available but as we live at the beach i appreciate a nice beach chair for a leisurely day on the shore. I do suggest a day on the lake or a quick trip to jump in and cool off. Like I said its very close to the cabin. We did cook just about every meal. The kitchen was adequately stocked. I do suggest if you use spices that you bring your own but plenty of salt and pepper. It was nice to have a gas grill on the patio. There were plenty of movie options and TV entertainment for the evenings after a long day of exploring. My kids are teenagers but it seemed to have plenty of toys and games to play. It had plenty of room for the 5 of us. The beds were nice but very firm. It has window ac in each bedroom which was a must this time of year. The shower was not that great. The pressure was minimal and the shower head made it hard to get the soap off. I loved that it had a washer and dryer with detergent available (although I brought my own just in case). The one bathroom is downstairs from the bedrooms and had plenty of space for more than 1 person at a time. The family room had wonderfully comfortable seating which I love. No air conditioning unit downstairs just fans. While we managed ok because we were gone during the hottest time of day we did spend an afternoon in the cabin and it was mildly uncomfortable with just the fans. I run ? so take this as informational only. We are not big hikers so we planned other activities besides just exploring Yosemite. The sugar pine mt railroad in fish camp was close to the cabin and a wonderful way to learn about the history of yosemite logging. It was a nice train ride through the forest. We also went horseback riding at the Yosemite horse pack station. The trail was very rough. They are very strict about their bmi requirements due to the nature of the trails so be advised that they weight and measure each adult. They will turn you away if you don't meet the requirements. We love the water and spent an afternoon on the side of a beautiful creek just inside Wawona. The water was very clear and wonderful on a hot day. Bring a picnic and hang out. Kelly was great. She answered all my questions quickly. Ty
Loved our stay! Close to the South Gate entrance to Yosemite and 20 mins away from Bass lake. Cute, cozy, clean cabin that’s well-cared for! Nice amenities! Kelly, the owner, was very responsive all the time!
