Beautiful place. Clean, gorgeous home, beautiful scenery, great owner hospitality. The only problem we had is I forwarded the check-in information to all that were coming by email and when they tried to open it after they got to location, they couldn't because there was no cell service. So, even though I knew they were there and trying to get in, I was in another location and they had a lot of trouble getting in the gate. One went to the local restaurant and the locals got them in touch with the owner so they got in. The other one came in the middle of the night, so he had to drive back to a neighboring town to get a cell signal so that he could call me. None of this was their fault, just poor planning on my part. I just didn't realize that you couldn't open the email without a passcode number that changes on a regular basis for security reasons, otherwise, I would have given the others a heads up on how to get in. So, basically, WiFi phone service only and once you are in the area, you are not going to have service until you check in and set it up for WiFi calling. But, I highly highly recommend the cabin, the scenery, the local hospitality and the owner.

This is a beautiful mountain top home. The views are spectacular. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed boating on the lake every day and relaxing on the porch every evening catching amazing sunsets. The carriage house/game room was perfect for our teenage boys. The drive up to the home was a little precarious but my minivan managed just fine. It is worth it for the view. The host was very helpful before, during and after our stay. This was a perfect place to beat the summer heat! We would definitely book again.

The pros: Cabin was well equipped with everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable. Views are awesome The cons: Property can use some repairs (deadbolts hard to operate, outside deck and railing dated) Driveway is steeper than description. We had trouble getting up during dry days and spun wheels several times. Lots of spiders and webs inside. It’s a cabin in the woods but it was more than expected. Basement stairs are uneven and slopped incorrectly which caused my wife to fall. Overall we enjoyed our stay and these minor improvements could have made it even better.

This has got to be, by far, my favorite VRBO booking! This was nothing short than a dream come true. We got married at Nantahala Weddings and the location was PERFECT! The views this house offered were SPECTACULAR! We were greeted with a congratulatory bottle of wine and Ghirardelli chocolates. Along with souvenir coffee cups. Communication was easy and timely. 10/10 would definitely stay here again!

Visited the area for a wedding down the street. Perfect home for the three couples /kids in the party. As the other reviews and the posting mentions, the drive may be intimidating for some. The road/gravel is well maintained but if you are a nervous driver it may not be for you. I would definitely not be comfortable driving in winter, but I’m from Florida. Closest grocery is 35 minutes and restaurant is 15 so plan ahead for meals.

Loved the morning and evening, well all day view of this property. The fall colors (stayed mid to late Oct) were phenomenal, and there were a ton of hiking trails, a train ride, and waterfalls all around this area. We had a best friends family getaway here and it was perfect for reconnecting with our chosen family for us adults and the kids. The fire pit at night while watching the gorgeous stars all over the sky was one of our favorite features of this property. Sunset was also phenomenal. Our only issue was checking in as it’s very hard to see at night and we actually knocked on a neighbor’s door in the night because we couldn’t find the right driveway. I highly recommend arriving during the day as it’s a steep driveway and leads to three houses, but clearly marked in daylight hours. Also, finding the key box was hard in the dark. It’s at the bottom of the left staircase under the hand rail. Host was very helpful and didn’t realize the flood lights weren’t working correctly. She sent us helpful info and came out to help with an unexpected issue. She was very kind and helpful in many ways. Thank you!
