Au Train, Michigan
A quaint, cozy cabin just a short walk to Lake Superior with access to free kayaks/canoes. Centrally located between Marquette and Munising (Pictured Rocks) on 2 lakes, you can easily enjoy the beauty of the U.P. on site or with a short drive. From the property you can paddle, rock hunt, watch eagles, Northern lights, meteor showers, and the sunrise and set over the water. We also have a charter fishing service on site to catch lake trout.
You do not have a direct view of the lake from the cabin, but the property contains 300' of Lake Superior shoreline. You are located next to several other cabins in the resort.
Our resort amenities include a public pavilion, firepit, and shared deck overlooking the lake for Superior views
I am located at the same property and am available anytime you need me. I like to allow guests to initiate how much interaction they would prefer with me as the host.
We have a 7 rental resort in a small bay of Lake Superior known as Shelter Bay. We also have a charter fishing service on site.
This property is part of a resort; there are 7 rentals total onsite as well as a charter fishing service. We have many boats on the property.
We can only host a maximum of 2 guests; additional guest are not permitted
Clean cabin, nice lake view. No functioning heating system.
We were very busy with activities while we stayed in the cabin so we didn't get to spend much time on the property. The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed and there was a nice outdoor area in front of the cabin as well as a common area by the shore that looked very popular. The cabin was located a reasonable distance from Pictured Rocks and we were glad that it was also close to Marquette as it was hard to find dinner in Munising and Christmas due to staffing shortages.
Cozy little cabin. Magnificent sunrise. The pileated woodpeckers were an added treat.
Just enough room for my husband and I. Cute cabin with just enough space for 2. We stayed a few nights in this quiet and relaxing resort. Cabin was clean. Bed was uncomfortable though, too soft for our liking, we sunk way in.
It was very nice the view was beautiful stole lots of rocks. The only thing I wish there were more plug in’s because my sister uses a breathing machine and I couldn’t use the fan in the bedroom and it was unseasonably warm
Friendly, clean, and right on the lake. Nice place for a vacation
We decided to rent a cabin for a short honey money to decompress after our world of craziness. It was perfect and absolutely what we were looking for. It was quiet and relaxing. Sarah was very accommodating and had great recommendations. We will definitely be back!
Great view. Located between two excellent beaches, sunrise on the cabins side across the street sunsets over the lake and very close to all the attractions, trails and tours.
If you want to do their fishing excursions this is a great place to stay. Rustic, clean, and quiet. I was a little disappointed that there were only 2 kayaks available, with one having a weight limit so one of us was unable to go. But overall a very nice stay.
Cabin was clean, and pefect for what we needed it for. Check in and out was seamless. Wouod certainly stay here again!
Cozy and quiet little cabin that was just right for recharging after busy sightseeing days.
Nice littel cabin, just needed a couple coat hooks to be a perfect old cabin.
PROS: The cabin was very clean and the kitchen was fully equipped. You have everything you need if planning to stay for a longer vacation. The position is a 10 star. You wake up facing the sunrise on Lake Superior. Unfortunately for us, during our time there is was full of mosquitoes, but this is not something controlled by the owner. They were very quick to answer or help with our requests. CONS: You receive no towels. I didn't know that when making the booking. It was a good thing they mentioned this a couple of days before we arrive so we were able to pack some. The check-out rules are bery weird, like: taking out your trash and removing the bedsheets. I understand the cleaning fee is less than in other rentals, but if I knew from the start, I probably wouldn't have rent this place.
Very nice clean cabin. Close to water and firepit was right next to water. Great place to stay.
Although this is a older cabin, it is by far one of the cleanest places we have ever stayed. Thank you
My husband & I stayed 4 nights here. The cabin was clean & had all the basics we needed. No complaints, no reason to contact the property manager, but nothing to rave about either. They did provide a notebook with pamphlets and maps of area attractions and locations of grocery stores & restaurants. I thought it was a bit over priced, but it was one of the least expensive available when we were looking for a place with only a couple weeks notice.
My wife and I rented the Erie cabin for a long weekend. It was absolutely perfect. The little old cabin is a little damp (what do you expect being completely surrounded by beautiful water) but very clean and cute. The resort was quiet, friendly, and near so many awesome activities. We will definitely be back.
The property was beautiful and everyone was super friendly! Great place to stay with lots of amenities. We will definitely be coming back!
The cottage was great and right on Lake Superior. The hosts were friendly and the cottage was very clean. However, I did not realize it was also a charter boat rental business. It is great for those who want to be on the water and for fisherman. I am not sure I would have rented if I would have known this before I made the reservation. We did have a good time and it was located close to where we wanted to go..
Sarah was extremely helpful and recommended lots of great things to do around pictured rocks. 10/10
Enjoyed our short stay passing through the area. Didn't realize it was a fishing charter resort, but worked out well for us as we were just in the area to explore painted rock for a day and it was reasonably price compared to town hotels. Very peaceful location and Sarah was very pleasant and helpful.
Nice little cottage
Very nice place to stay, cozy small cabin that was clean and pleasant. We would stay at again if we were in the area.
The cottage was very clean and really well-equipped - we could have stayed a week comfortably (unfortunately just one night). The shoreline was lovely and we took advantage of the kayaks (included in price). And Sarah was a lovely, genial, and accommodating host. Could not have asked for a more pleasant stay.
The NICEST family run location. Small and quaint in a beautiful location. Sarah and her father are the friendliest, most accommodating hosts. A+++
I stayed in the Erie cabin it was just what I needed for my solo trip. It was close to the city but far enough not to hear the noise lots of fun activities to do while there and the host treated me with respect and I got the peace and quiet I needed to recoup from the drive
