Welcome to Muskwaki Pines, a hidden sanctuary in one of the South Shore’s best-kept secret neighborhoods. Situated in a remarkably quiet and peaceful residential enclave, this retreat is nestled in its own grassy meadow and framed by towering pines and golden aspens.
r>The layout offers a rare level of Tahoe privacy; while you are part of a welcoming community, the property is uniquely positioned with only one neighbor within shouting distance. Here, the morning alarm is the sound of the wind through the trees, not the hum of traffic.

The 15-Minute Hub: Proximity Without the Noise

While Muskwaki Pines feels like a secluded wilderness retreat, you are strategically located just 15 minutes from the very best of Lake Tahoe.

The Scenic Stroll: Leave the car keys behind. An easy 10-minute walk through the pines leads you directly to the expansive meadows and the banks of the Upper Truckee River.

Outdoor Adventure: Pedal directly from the property to legendary mountain bike tracks like Powerline, Fountain Place, Hawley Grade, and Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.

The house was perfect for our girls trip. The only downside was all the dog hair that was on our clothes through out our stay. We were constantly having to use a lint roller. My friend at one point had dog hair in her mouth. Besides that the house, location , and amenities

House was pet friendly minus all the snow so could not use the fenced in area in back of house . Hot tub needed to be shocked twice due to really cloudy water . Living room area under furniture and tables had debris, bottle caps and wrappers so could have been cleaner . Some dishes and mugs were put away dirty.

Spent a wonderful holiday with family at this wonderful Tahoe VRBO. Sue was a great host and was very communicative. She reached out with opportunities to extend our stay, and we wish we could have taken her up on her offer. The place had everything we needed, from the kitchen to the hot tub. It is also pet friendly and the neighborhood was quiet and had nearby trails so we could get the dogs some exercise. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to stay here again. Also the best feature is the wood burning fireplace. It kept the entire house warm and cozy!

The cabin was amazing for me and my friends for a quick little skiing/snowboard trip. We had to wash the bed sheets be more time before we slept the first night as we noticed some fur and hair. Another than that the stay was amazing!

Sue was excellent and super attentive host. We stay in cabins in South Lake Tahoe twice a year for over a decade. The house was perfect and had all the amenities we needed for a week's stay. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was well-stocked, and the location was very peaceful. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this house if you want peace and quiet but still be close to the downtown life. We plan to stay here again in the future!

House was perfect for our stay, back deck was very enjoyable, house across street needs some TLC, and neighbor to the right seems to be passive aggressive by storing a bunch of building materials right next to the deck of the rental causing a bit of an eyesore. Owners were very easy to work with and property was as presented.

Easy drive into town and to the lake, relaxing hot tub and good kitchen for making meals as well. Would stay here again!

The home is cute and very clean. Older furnishings and carpet but well kept. The beds were comfy and enough for what we needed. The hallway bathroom door did not shut well or lock which could be an issue for some, but being it was just our family staying there it was not an issue for us. Our dog loved it there and the enclosed back yard was great. The short walk to the trail and river was so beautiful and was dog heaven. We went oh a hike there everyday we were there. The hosts were exceptional and very responsive. When arrivedthe hotub looked less than inviting. The water looked cloudy and dirty. After contacting the owner they arranged to come out the next morning to empty the hotub, clean it and refill it with water. After that we felt comfortable using the hot tub later that night. Thank you to the owners for taking care of tge issyes that came up during our stay. It was quiet and a great place to star gaze at night. We enjoyed oyr stay. Thank you.

Great place, very peaceful and nice big yard for my pups to play. Big comfortable beds. Nice antique furniture pieces throughout the house. The best for us was the tip on taking a trail walkable from the house, down to the upper Truckee river. Beautiful weather helped make it a great stay.

I booked this place because it was pet friendly, had a hot tub, and looked private. The space itself is pretty dated, but has some modern updates with a nice kitchen. The location is great! The house was very clean. We did have someone who said they worked for the property stop by unannounced to look at a camera. That was a little weird since I was in the hot tub. Overall a positive experience and very comfortable.

My wife and I have been planning to visit Lake Tahoe for a few years and we finally were able to make the trip! Luckily for us we found the most amazing listing to stay for our vacation. The property is extremely cozy, with an amazing fireplace, hot tub (that works wonderfully) and enough room for all your family or friends. We brought our dogs with us and they had plenty of room to run around in the gated yard and play in the snow. They have a washer/dryer and a full kitchen with everything you need. I really do recommend you give this place a try! The property manager responded to our questions right away and we were never left confused or without help. The property is also a very short 7-10 minute drive from basically everything in the area, like the market, the lake or the ski resort.100 out of 5 stars if I could.

Great location and owners. Checkin process was smooth. Owners were always communicating. However instructions are spread across too many places. We wanted to use the hot tub and there were 4 places to see the hot tub instructions and only one of them had the code for the lock. The bedsheets and comforters in master bedroom are old and so is the carpet. The fan had dust on it. Master bathroom is really small but functional. There is no heater in the bedrooms so you either get too cold if you close the door or too hot if you leave the door open. Kitchen has mish mash of plates, utensils and pans but it's adequate. Living and dining area is comfortable.

The house was a great location, easy to access South Lake Tahoe and a beautiful snowy location great for our winter weekend get away. A couple things that should be known if you go in winter are the heaters are outside the room so a night if you want to stay warm you have to keep the door open.which limits privacy and the oven has no vent over it so when we tried to cook a pizza the smoke detector went off leading to us having to open windows despite there being no smoke. 4 stars to the communication just because my mom tried to contact the number supplied when she arrived because the rugs by the kitchen sink were soaking wet and she wanted to let someone know but never heard back from anyone other than that the communication before was very thorough. Just a couple minor things to know, by our stay was great. The rooms are spacious, the backyard is fenced which was great for our dogs, and comfortable seating in the living room that allowed us to hang out and relax.

Beautiful property in amazing location. Only 2 miles from town but felt hours away. Extremely quiet and peaceful with lots of outdoor space. The large completely fenced yard was perfect for our dog. We greatly enjoyed relaxing on the very comfortable reclining leather sofa and the wood burning stove while enjoying the view. This was perfect spot for our small family memorial trip. Our athletic young dog enjoyed the gated dog run below the deck when we were enjoying the table on the deck or the great hot tub. 10 min walk to access the Upper Truck and beautiful meadow with trails. The non teens, especially the 4 legged one loved this! Hosts were very responsive throughout the process here via this website / email combo and I even got a text 1 hour before we were to check in. Highly recommend for a small family getaway with the pooch!

The property was not bougie, but it was perfect for us, our dog and our mountain bikes. Clean, comfy and a great value. It was quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. DO NOT STAY HERE IN THE SUMMER- followed all guidelines of the property 87 degrees was the high during the day…..at 10:30pm the inside temperature was 85 degrees- unbearable!!!! One member of our party had to seek medical attention. We did EVERYTHING recommended to keep temperature down- it didn’t matter. Contacted property manager- they took no responsibility and didn’t care- don’t stay here- property is outdated and worn down. Steep stairs has pieces of the steps missing - very dangerous!!! Hot tub didn’t work properly.
