Ellijay Hideaway w/ Hot Tub, Views & Game Room!

We had a wonderful time and had everything we needed in your cabin. The beds were super comfortable and everything was very clean. The views were beautiful and we loved walking our dog on the long path behind the cabin. We loved all the games in the shed next to the cabin. It was a wonderful few days of family time and your cabin was perfect for it

I've rented a lot of houses through VRBO and this one was by far my favorite! The house was beautiful and had plenty of room for my family of 10. The views from the porches were gorgeous. I loved the private balcony on the master and the HUGE tub in the bathroom was fabulous after a day of hiking. My kids loved the game room and spent most of their time there when we were at the house. The beds were comfy and the kitchen had everything you'll need. We truly enjoyed our time at Lazy Bear Lodge and in Ellijay.

I am an honest reviewer because it is not cheap taking a family of 9 on vacation and I want the next renter to have all the info I can provide to make a decision. This is a great house in a VERY secluded area. BUT there were some disappointments specifically the cleanliness and the kitchen amenities. There were very clear to the naked eye items that should have been cleaned before our arrival. Lots of mold in the washer door liner and detergent tray, cobwebs, huge dying/dead tree inside house, empty pots of dirt on deck, mold on deck cushions, hair in shower, pots/pans had grease/food residue, hot tub not filled properly. It is a large home that fit us: 2 adults and 7 kids (15-22) and the cleaning issues didn't take away from our vac memories at all. It is in a very secluded area and req. long drives out/in every day to get to our adventures (30-90 min each way) which were a bit tedious and tiring for all of us, but that's not fault of the home. The kitchen is very poorly stocked w/very old and very poor condition utensils, pots/pans, stove top, etc. I have provided all my suggestions to the owner and he was very receptive. The problems are a poor cleaning company, not the owner, and I feel confident he'll remedy it. Communication on other issues while we were there were quickly resolved. I chose not to address the cleaning while still in the home with the owner because I didn't want my vac spent managing issues,but I am hoping they will be resolved for the next renter.

Good size cabin, well appointed, well maintained. Comfortable beds, scenic Mountain View’s, easy to access location. Enough to see and do, so it was a good location. Plenty of hot water, ample storage. Nothing bad to say. Would recommend.

Our visit was absolutely perfect. The cabin has every item you could want and more. Plus, the gameroom was fantastic. The only issue we experienced was when a storm came through and an enormous tree fell across one of the main roads out of the area-- taking the power lines with it. Unfortunately, the host did not answer the phone to help; however, emailed to let us know that he hoped we had distilled water because the water pump is also electric. We obviously could not stay at a home without power, candles, flashlights or water; therefore, we had to leave our vacation early. He did not offer any refund but did say that if we wanted to rent the cabin again that he would offer some credit.

Excellent. The Home is well apportioned. Everything you need. We enjoyed the game barn and the hot tub. Quiet with wonderful views. Host was great and very accommodating

Our family enjoyed the vacation. Loved the layout of the house and communication with the manager was top notch. He responded to emails very timely and answered all questions! The kids wasn’t ready to leave!

It was a great experience! The host was fantastic and very prompt before and during my stay with questions. I’ve never used an app or site like this to book a stay so I was new and nervous. Host was fantastic!!

Wonderful stay at a very warm and cozy Lodge. The view is outstanding. Had a great time with my family from Florida Celebrating Christmas a little early. Kids enjoyed the hot tub as my wife Christy & I enjoyed the Jacuzzi tub up stairs. Kids had there own apartment down stairs while Christy & I had the main level & my daughter & grand daughter had the upstairs. over all we all had a great time. Thanks Joe for being such a fabulous host. Merry Christmas & thanks.

Had a great family vaca

The cabin and location were great... wonderful views and very good communication with host. The cabin was clean with the exception of the upstairs shower needs to be addressed due to mold. When addressed...5 stars!

Nice place and view.

We had a wonderful week at the Lazy Bear. 8 family members. The drive to the cabin was spectacular. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle, but not too far away this is the perfect cabin. The mountain view is fantastic. Can’t say enough good things about this cabin. Thank you Joe for sharing this mountain paradise with our family.

The cabin was beautiful, but not maintained very well. One of the features of the cabin we were most interested in was the outdoor fireplace. Unfortunately it didn’t work. Host said he was going to call the gas company but never heard anything else about it. The shower for the master bedroom was disgusting as it was covered in mold and mildew and the downstairs shower had hair in it. The host did issue a partial refund. There was no sanitizer for the hot tub and judging by the shower we skipped it altogether. Overall, for the price point I was extremely disappointed and had I not had family coming to stay I would have checked out, but we were all several hours from home with no alternate accommodations so we made the best of our time there.

It was a very peaceful place to be up in the mountains. Cabin was beautiful and spacious. The only bad thing is the road to the house, you'll need a SUV or truck to get there. Overall we love it.

The lazy bear property is a fantastic place for families. Close to town, surrounded by nature, beautiful scenery, and a very responsive host. We hope to come back for another stay!
