We had a great time at this second home cabin. The cabin is a good size for our large family and was very clean and neat on the inside. We enjoyed the two separate living rooms for the kids/adults. The only thing I would have liked to know before my trip was that the cabin is on a very steep and bumpy dirt road way up the mountain. It worked out fine, but that would have been great to know up front. Overall, we had a great time in this cabin.
Although this place is very nice, it is in great need of a deep down cleaning. I totally missed that it was a “pet friendly” rental. The owner really needs to evaluate their cleaning crew, there was so much pet hair EVERYWHERE and the carpets didn’t look to be vacuumed. Our poor children couldn’t play on the carpet without getting covered in pet hair. Our clothes, socks, food, even our luggage was covered in hair. Definitely not infant friendly, three stories and no stairs gates. I wanted to include pictures, but don’t have that option. The kitchen drawers and cabinets were is disarray, totally disorganized. This place has great potential, but seemed to be neglected.
The property was gorgeous! The drive was a bit rocky, but the views you get to see on the way there was amazing. We stayed when the fall colors came in and absolutely loved the neighborhood! The home was clean, had everything we needed, and had plenty of space. The host was responsive and easy to communicate with. It was an awesome weekend, we would highly recommend!
Attended a wedding in the area and a bunch of old highschool friends all stayed in this house so that we could catch up and be nearby to the wedding. It was a great cabin, beautiful views nearby, and included everything we needed. Had to talk to management once and they were very responsive. Road to the cabin is a bit rough, just poor maintenance from the county/township. Plan for it to take you about 10minutes to get to the house once you pull off the paved road, you really can't drive fast.
Exactly as advertised.
I cannot say enough great things about our stay at Fox Ridge Lodge. Our families annually spend a few days in the the FairPlay/Alma area. This year we felt lucky to find this gem of a house. It was perfect for our group. It was spacious with everyone able to have their own place, but we were able to spend time together in the common areas. The house was nicely decorated with very comfortable furnishings. We loved seeing a 14er from our living room windows. We all agreed that this was the favorite place we've stayed and we'd love the stay here again.
Perfect place to get away with the family. Spacious and well maintained. Enjoy the outdoors and wildlife. Mule deer, Moose, bears and foxes all seen in the area. Close to Alma and South Park as well as Breckenridge but far enough away to be away from crowds. Highly recommend this home for your family if you want the peace and quiet of the mountains!
The Cabin was great and had everything even the small things (like insulated mugs for your coffee) lots of spices for cooking, coffee creamer, games. The Host was responsive and accommodating during a storm that rolled through. There were many heating sources including a really cool gas/electric fire place that kept the cabin toasty. Lots of room and 2 common areas. Please pay special attention to altitude and all wheel drive noted multiple times on the listing this is required!
The house is nicely hidden up in the mountain and a great location with near by trails. We did excursions in the near by towns and Alma was a perfect central location to Buena Vista, Breckenridge, and Colorado Springs. The road up the mountain is EXTREMELY ROUGH…. So be prepared for that. The only issue for our stay was the oven door was broken and would not stay shut. I texted the issue and the company quickly texted back letting us know they we aware of the issue but unfortunately the replacement stove had not come in yet. So that was a hassle when we needed to cook in the oven. Over all it was a great vacay and a beautiful location.
The house was great for the whole family. Plenty of space to spread out for the wife, kids and grandkids. We enjoyed the outdoor space and went for hikes and fishing wasn’t too far away. Definitely recommend this place and will look forward to returning in the future.
Great house, met the needs to accommodate 7 people. The management company was on time, great communication. Breathtaking views. If wouldn’t be for the altitude we would have returned every time. All in all a great trip, humbled by the majestic mountains and God’s creation. Thank the management and owners of the place for a great time!
It was a wonderful and beautiful property. Definitely would to stay here again.
Great place for price. We all thoughly enjoyed our stay
This place was just what we were looking for. Somewhere tucked away to watch the snow fall. The home was spacious with everything a you could need in the kitchen and to keep kids occupied. The elevation quite literally took our breath away (I don’t know if we ever fully got used to it), but it was worth it to stay somewhere so picturesque.
Very good
Loved the property, has a beautiful view facing the valley with a mountain ominously looking on from behind. The house itself is amazing and well kept.
It was easy to use the app and gave me the instructions needed for the greatest vacation on a few years. Plenty of; hiking places, fishing, beautiful property with plenty of trees....
We had a wonderful time at Fox Ridge Lodge. The house had plenty of toiletries and the kitchen was well-stocked with every item we needed to cook a good meal. Very quiet and also very high (about 11,200 ft) which took a couple days to get used to. There was a nice hiking trail within walking distance. We didn't have any issues with this house and will definitely be back to visit on our next trip.
Our family truly enjoyed our stay at this very spacious and well organized property. Plenty of room to enjoy family time. The property does sit at high elevation so we made sure not to over exert ourselves at least for the first few days.
The house itself is great, as is the location. As a short term rental owner of many properties,, I would be upset if my guests walked into heaps of spider webs as they opened the door. Most management companies do a final walk thru before guests come to make sure everything is top shape. There were no paper towels and we were promised someone would bring us a roll and that never happened, Not the end of the world and I would have brought my own expect it was listed on the “amenities” as supplied. but as an owner I would be disappointed that my management company was taking a cut of the income but not taking care of the guests, especially after we were told it was being handled.. Also no propane for the grill, and the Keurig coffee machine is not operable. Wonderful weekend and great property but management company could use some significant improvement.
