Pinetop, Arizona
Welcome to our 'Knotty But Nice' cabin!
Our 'Knotty But Nice' cabin features the perfect blend of rustic and modern with all the amenities that you will need. Escape the city to one of the few true log cabins in the area. Our cabin is located in the beautiful Pinetop Lakes Country Club on a heavily wooded 1/2 acre lot. Walk out the back door and into the National Forest where there are miles of forest to explore while hiking, mountain biking, running, and ATV riding or enjoy the forest from the large covered wrap around deck with a beautiful flagstone patio with outdoor seating. In addition, Giant Jenga, horseshoes, and WIFI are available for you to use while at the cabin. Very private and peaceful location with easy access year round and only minutes to shopping, dining, and Pinetop festivals. One mile to golf and horseback riding, 5 minutes to Hon-Dah Casino, 30 minutes to Sunrise Ski area.
The 20' cathedral ceiling and tall windows in the great room provide plenty of natural light and the cozy wood burning stove will keep you warm on chilly mountain nights. Although the wood burning stove is nice, it is not the only heat source as there also is thermostat controlled gas heat. Our cabin is beautifully decorated with newly remodeled kitchen with granite counter tops, slate backsplash, all new stainless steel appliances and a new slate hearth and log railing staircase. There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor (1 king log bed, 1 queen log bed) along with a full bath. The huge master suite (1 king log bed) in the loft has a reading area and en suite fully remodeled bathroom. A lot of room in the loft for the kids to play on the new very plush carpet.

The yard backs up to national forest making for great hiking right in your back yard. Cabin was so cute and clean. We loved it
Location and outdoor view was good.
What a great place to end our trip before returning to the heat in Phoenix. Comfortable beds, Loved looking out into the pines. Very peaceful.
Clean property, great location and comfortable accommodations! Kitchen was impressively well stocked with cooking items. We really enjoyed our stay!
This was our 2nd time staying at the knotty but nice cabin. Our family loves everything about this cozy place. It’s in a very nice community and the property itself has a lovely big-fenced backyard looking out into the forest. Close drive to everything. A great place to stay during a snowy winter or during the summer months. We have made it the place to stay when traveling up to Pinetop-Lakeside.
What a great spot - tucked into a very nice neighborhood with a beautiful forest just steps away. Our experience exceeded our expectations. Loved it all!!
Before talking about our stay I must mention a little about the character of the home owners…we booked this home months in advance hoping to find a house backing up to Forest Service land where we could look out at nothing but trees…it was important to us. As Thanksgiving neared we heard from Mary Jo who informed us that they had been waiting since September to get a new refrigerator but had been delayed time and time again by the supplier. She was kind to let us know about the unexpected situation and hoped that the fridge would arrive in time for our stay. She made every effort to make this right whether we wanted to cancel or take the risk of no refrigerator over Thanksgiving. She left the ball in our court and was so apologetic despite it not being their fault. We discussed our options and decided that the first Thanksgiving didn’t have a fridge so we would make it work one way or another while awaiting the possible delivery right before our arrival. The location was too good to miss out on. Mary Jo was incredibly open and timely in her communication with us and, wouldn’t you know, a Thanksgiving miracle occurred and the fridge arrived the day before we did. Thank you for doing everything you could to make the situation right, Mary Jo! Now to the stay…..Location, location, location! Pinetop is a great community, no matter where you land, but to be in a quiet neighborhood with direct access to Forest Service land…fantastic. Our very busy lives were, thankfully, put on hold while we stayed here with friends for Thanksgiving. The fireplace was cozy and the kitchen enabled us to cook everything up without issue. The kitchen table offered ample space for our game nights. Outside, the neighborhood was calm and quiet for our morning walks and the backyard gate opened to endless miles of beautiful pine forests which we walked every late afternoon listening to the wind in the treetops and the birds chirping without even a hint that the rest of the world existed. We rested well and enjoyed time together…a Thanksgiving to remember. Thank you for offering your home to the four of us!
Very nice cabin, beautiful area.
This cabin is in the perfect location. We loved being able to walk out the back door and into the forest. Restaurants are close by but the kitchen has all the cooking utensils you need for making meals. Our favorite part though was the back deck, sitting out there, drinking coffee and enjoying the rain and cool weather.
Cabin was everything and some! Kitchen very well stocked for all your cooking needs. Everything was clean. The backyard and porch was perfect! The woods behind the cabin beautiful and fun to explore. We had such a great time. Def would want to come back when there is snow.
