Stayed Jun 25, 2025Thank you for the opportunity to stay in West Yosemite. It is very convenient. The place was delightfully decorated with the bear theme. The 2 bathrooms listed were misleading. One is a laundry room. Huge disappointment for 5 people The view was vast but difficult to see with the dirty windows and cob webs.

Stayed Jun 14, 2020We loved our stay at Yosemite. Location is the key at Cub’s Cabin. It is a bit rundown but worked great for our families of four and three. Plenty of places to sleep and all you need to be comfortable. It needs a good deep cleaning but there if you have the expectations that this is the case, you will be fine. Glacier Point is relatively close and Yosemite Valley is not far. Elevation is higher so it is cooler than staying in the valley during the summer. We would stay here again but hope outside lighting and cleaning inside and out occurs between now and next time. This would only enhance the overall experience.

Stayed Aug 1, 2025Amazing cabin. We loved it. WiFi was spotty and the downstairs room and bedroom are not easily accessible for families with littles but it didn’t bother us at all. Easy check in. Very communicative. Already told some friends about it.

Stayed May 19, 2024I left this same message to the Yosemite Grand also. I am writing this due to the fact we were extremely disappointed in what we walked into. We left the property managers this same message. When we arrived the dishes in the dishwasher were dirty and it was full.. We washed the dishes, and put them away. We only had several towels, 1 wash rag, 2 hand towels, and several big towels. Days later we noticed in the washing machine a full load of wet towels, we left them in the washing machine, not knowing if they were clean or not. There were several cobwebs and bugs over the TV. The grill outside was dirty, so we did not use it. The Dish TV did not work. We could not contact the property manager, due to no reception the entire time we were there. We left them a message about all of the issues, and let them know we left the trash double bagged as instructed. We had to drive about an hour outside the park to get the message to them and left a voice message, telling all if the above and to contact us if they needed to talk to us, we have gotten no respond. For the price, We were disappointed in everything. Sincerely Cindy Kountz

Stayed Aug 10, 2023We had a few issues with this home. Upon arrival there were fresh bear prints on the INSIDE wall of bedroom under window. When stepped outside you can see them there too so a bear had been inside recently and they did not clean up. Secondly, this is not an actual 2 bathroom. The second bathroom you have to go out the back porch, open a trap door type thing (I think to keep bears off top level) then go down steep stairs and then back inside to access the second bathroom. The one bathroom inside main house has a 3 ft drop to step into. Not accesible for small children or anyone with disabilities. We reached out to the host regarding bear prints and never did get a reply from either number. We booked this last minute and def should have read all the other reviews first. The water coming out of faucets was also yellow( not sure if that’s just mountain water or not). When we booked more pictures were listed (they are now listed on another site if you look up cubs cabin) and those picture are not accurate. We reached out to vrbo after the host did not reply to let them know the issues as well.

Stayed Jul 23, 2023The location of this property could not be better. The neighborhood and the proximity made to stay very worthwhile. That said, the air conditioning was not working, the washer and dryers were not working, and the air hockey in the rec room was not working. Not all the windows had screens in the sliding door to the deck also had a broken screen. With temperatures up to 97°F in the day, we needed to keep as many windows and doors open at night to have a reasonable temperature and lack of screens impeded that. But I definitely would stay there again because I could not imagine a better location. I believe that the problems mentioned can be easily fixed. The communication was outstanding but obviously misleading since we really were looking forward to the air conditioning and the functioning washer and dryer.

Stayed Aug 9, 2022We enjoyed our 2 night stay at this inviting home. Without staying at the village, this is one of the closest places you can stay to the heart of Yosemite. We loved having the full and well appointed kitchen (we bought groceries at the Mar-Val market in Groveland on the way in) and the nice dining table by the windows for meals. The community is very quiet and peaceful. The beds are very comfortable and my 2 adult kids loved having their own large beds. I didn't realize that the house did not have central AC and we did have a little challenge cooling it down on arrival, as the temp was quite warm in the 90s. However, the house supplied large portable cooling fans, which we used to cool it down. (We needed to bring one upstairs to cool the loft bedroom, which was the most challenging.) The evenings/nights are nice and cool, so opening the house overnight also helped. As mentioned by the management company in the information packet, internet service is slow, but usable for email and light surfing. The house is well supplied with movies and games and satellite tv, although we didn't watch it. As mentioned in previous reviews, if you have mobility challenges, this is probably not the best place for you due to stairs and big step down into the tub/shower. However, we had no issues at all and actually found the downstairs area easier to access than some reviews had suggested. Thanks for a great stay!

Stayed Jul 21, 2022We had a very pleasant stay at the Cub's Cabin. It has not been fixed up in a while, but we found the decor and feel of the cabin well suited for a Yosemite vacation. Pluses - Location is amazing, wonderful deck for meals, well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. We just had to bring our food and personal items. There was even a plethora of seasonings and such in the kitchen. Our only suggestions - the unit can use a few repairs (ex. patio sliding door is difficult to use and air hockey table not working). And that as others have stated, the outside walk to the downstairs bathroom is a bit inconvenient. But overall we really enjoyed our time at the cabin and made some wonderful family memories!

Stayed Jun 23, 2022This property, on a verdant hillside inside Yosemite, takes your breathe away even as you approach it. And then, the inside somehow finds a way to add to this. Well provided in terms of furnishings, kitchen provisions and bathroom stuff, this also has games and books to keep children occupied in the evening, and a gym and game room to keep everyone happy.

Stayed Jun 6, 2022Overall home was wonderful. All the household amenities that you could possibly need. Bed in loft was very comfortable. Other mattresses in first floor bedrooms need to be replaced. Dust was pretty apparent in bedrooms and on floor fans and heater blades. Whirlpool tub doesn’t work, may want to add that to listing
