We've stayed in Truckee and Northstar many times, but usually with other families who take care of choosing and booking the places we stay. This time, we wanted to enjoy a few days away with just our family and our two small dogs. We love to travel and stay in nice places, and it can be difficult to find a nice and clean place that allows pets. This house was wonderful! It was clearly professionally cleaned (I am always surprised by other rental properties that charge cleaning fees but expect us to do most of the work before we go) and was spotless when we arrived. The kitchen was well stocked with good/newer/quality cookware, utensils, flatware, and dishes, as well as dishsoap, detergent, paper towels, etc. There was plenty of firewood to use in the woodburning stove/fireplace. Appreciated the saucer sled in the garage - my kids loved it :) Also appreciated the dog dishes in the laundry room. Beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of extra linens and bedding. Also plenty of towels (would have appreciated some washcloths, that that was not a big deal). Our pups and our kids LOVED the backyard, which was covered in snow when we arrived. We received several more inches during our stay and it was such a treat for family. No issues with Wifi and we were able to log into our streaming accounts without any problems. This was one of the best visits we've had to Tahoe, and was definitely one of the best homes we've stayed in. We would love to stay again :)
We really enjoyed our 5-day stay - the house was comfortable and clean and perfect for 3 adults, 2kids and our dog!
the property was very good . it worked perfectly for us. I would like to know how to return 2 books we took in error.
Just stayed here over the weekend. It was very clean, tidy and cozy. The neighborhood is beautiful and peaceful. Best part was the easy drive to skiing. We went to Boreal which is a 15 min drive away. I was impressed with the selection of pots, pans and kitchen utensils. Great kitchen for making family meals.
Good stay little dusty Internet kept going off had to keep unplugging router to reconnect very inconvenient. It was hot so would be nice to have fans in the bedrooms and more towels as no wash cloths or hand towels.
The bed in master bedroom was extremely uncomfortable and the sheets were both too small for the bed and rough to the touch. All the towels were also very stiff and rough. The kitchen was well equipped however there were no extra towels or bedding so we could not use the sofa bed. There house had cobwebs around all the windows and nothing had been dusted. The closets had unfolded sleeping bags and miscellaneous items that were just stuffed in and looked dirty. Location was nice. I would not necessarily recommend this house.
The house fit our group of 5 + dog perfectly and it was located off the main thoroughfare for Tahoe Donner, within 20 minutes of Sugarbowl and 30 minutes from other resorts like North Star and Squaw/alpine. The kitchen was amazing with everything you could need for a wonderful stay with the ability to cook big meals for large groups. The temperature in the cabin was easy to keep warm and the space inside and outside was great for our dog who loved being with us on vacation. We will definitely be back to this gem in Tahoe Donner.
We thought the home was very comfortable and well-appointed. It was nice to find a few pantry necessities in the kitchen cupboards, plenty of cookware, a fresh sponge, bathroom toiletries set out for us, and Tahoe Donner guest cards; everything felt thoughtful and generous. Location was convenient, very close to the Tahoe Donner market and cross-country skiing. It's true the street out front is a little busy. We really appreciated being able to bring our dogs. They, and we, had a great time.
We enjoyed our time here over the long weekend. The bedrooms were nice, master bed was comfortable. Nice kitchen with everything you could need. Busy location on the corner. We had so much snow we could only fit two cars in the driveway. And could not access the garbage cans. It would have been nice to have the driveway plowed so we could have at least fit one car in the garage. We had to park one car at the clubhouse. Another suggestion would be to have extra family room seating. The cabin sleeps 8 but there is not enough space to comfortably hang out in the family area for that many people.
It was perfect.. easy access to Sugar bowl and Truckee.... would defines stay here again.... only one thing is Bed in master bedrooms is a quite uncomfortable... would be a huge improvement for a new mattress... memory foam..!
