The bathroom window was very drafty. Perhaps some plastic covering would help.

Hot water did not work
place is clean and cute. beds are comfy. location is great. only con was they fo not have airconditioning. it gets hot at night We followed instructions on how to keep the room cool but did not really work One night the temp was at 82F inside. windows were open. and on our first full day, we had a problem with the water. We had to take a bath using icy water.
We did not like that it was more of a motel setup with no air conditioning. I left a day early. Beautiful scenery well furnished, very clean. Just over priced for the room.
Comfortable and clean place
Rustic stay for a small family with everything you need to cook at home and save money for fun things! comfortable beds and open floor plan in kitchen/living room areas. Our dogs Bella and Randy loved the outside area! Hot tub was good relaxing time.
Very nice and clean. Needs more silverware
We enjoyed our stay. Comfortable place to stay nothing fancy but had everything you needed.
Summary: 1) Good enough if you aren’t picky 2) Terrible customer service by Vacasa My family of five plus our dog stayed here for four nights in early July. We were able to book it just a few days before our trip. This two bedroom kitchenette is fine if you just need a place to sleep while enjoying the area and you didn’t plan ahead long enough to have better options. The biggest highlight of our stay was that the woman washing towels was very friendly and helpful when I approached her with a question. The kitchen has working appliances and plenty of cookware, utensils, and plates. I found the bed to be comfortable. Otherwise… This is misleadingly advertised as a cabin nestled in nature. It is NOT a cabin. It is an overpriced kitchenette in a rundown motor lodge. It should be rented as a motel room, not a VRBO. The decor, bathroom, and security are seriously outdated. They provide one metal key that you access from a lock box by the door. None of these things bother me if the price is right, but they charge too much for what you get. This is not a place where you want to hang out and relax, especially if you have five or six in your party. But we were busy every day experiencing the spectacular area, so we were only in the kitchenette in the morning and at night. Our stay ended up being fine overall. But I was shocked by the horrible customer service by Vacasa. Initial email communication about check in was fine. But when we had concerns the first night about the property, I tried to contact Vacasa. * There is no onsite host, office, or customer service. * The two phone numbers they provide inform you that they are experiencing delays. * I tried to email Lea, the “front-desk agent for Vacasa in the Southwest Colorado area.” Earlier that day when I had emailed her to add a pet to our party, she responded in 6 minutes that she would charge the fee to our card on file. But when I emailed her my concerns about the room, it took her 36 hours and a reminder email to reply, “I will pass this along to the management and see what she can do for you.” Five hours later I emailed that nobody had contacted me yet, but I never heard back from Lea. * Their text agent provided inaccurate information, telling me they wouldn’t refill the shower gel dispenser, but that “you can buy from the nearest market.” I was surprised that Vacasa was so unresponsive.
As soon as I stepped into the cabin I was reminded of the lake cabin that belonged to my grandparents. It wasn’t the same layout but had the same feeling from my childhood. It was comfortable enough. I would choose to stay again. The price was reasonable. One suggestion is to put a mirror on the wall above the desk so someone can be getting ready there when someone else is occupying the bathroom.
South fork is situated at the cross roads between the San Luis Valley, wolf Creek and the San Juan Mountains. We stayed there Memorial Day weekend at hiked several days in the mountains - the cabin was perfect - and a quiet and comfortable place to rest.
