Big Buck Vacation Cabin
Tucked away on a pretty country lane sits the cabin called Big Buck…a place where the nature lover will find numerous outdoorsy things to do. A small pond just outside the front door is stocked with blue gill, bass, and catfish for the fisherman who brings along their favorite pole. Access to Lake Monroe, as well as Yellowwood State Forest are also close-by. Located halfway between Bloomington and Nashville, Big Buck is well situated for folks who want to attend sporting events at Indiana University, as well as hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking in Brown County State Park.

Big Buck cabin comfortably sleeps 4 people within its two bedrooms and the comfy lodge-pole pine queen beds, all decked out in cozy colorful quilts. There is one full bath. One of the bedrooms has satellite TV and one has a smart TV with Roku only.

The living room with satellite TV, dining area, and kitchen share a common space, which makes it nice when cooking and visiting with your companions. Here is where you’ll gather to socialize, watch TV, or cuddle up in front of the cute little woodstove with gas logs a-blazin’.

The cabin also provides DSL service, a DVD player and an Nintendo NEC Classic console . The whitetail deer theme is evident throughout the interior of the cabin…an appropriate look for nature enthusiasts.

This cabin has an outdoor hot tub and an outdoor charcoal grill.

A nice wide porch outfitted with rockers is an inviting spot to look out over the countryside, the pond, and the many blooming flowers and shrubs you’ll find throughout the property. If you’d like to tour some beautiful flower gardens, and the art gallery of early Brown County artist, the late T. C. Steele, you are just 1.5 miles from his former property. The T. C. Steele State Historic Site is so close to Big Buck cabin, you really should drive (or hike) over there and have a look around. T. C.’s wife, Selma, created beautiful wildflower gardens at “The House of The Singing Winds” which are lovingly maintained today by local volunteers; this property is a treasure not to be missed.

All our cabins have a 3 night minimum for Major Holidays.

Pick up the phone or click the reservations button now to book your preferred dates for a relaxing stay at this quaint cabin in the hills of southwestern Brown County.

Clean comfortable warm cabin. Kitchen has all the tools/pans you need. Husband & I stayed for a quiet New Years getaway. Near a pond that was very pretty. I would definitely come back in to summer. We did fine, but there are a lot of stairs to the cabin door which can be slick in winter, therefore not suitable for disabled persons or wheelchairs. Pet friendly which is nice, but don't allow cats which was disappointing.

Very nice, comfortable. I thought it was odd to bring your own t.p. The only thing I would add is a full length mirror. There is only one mirror and it's in the one bathroom. If you want it dark to look at stars it's hard because there are motion lights. I suppose you could walk farther from the cabin and wait for the light to go off.

Property was very clean, and well maintained. Hot tub was clean and inviting. The patio is very nice and enjoyable, even under heavy rain. We will definitely be staying again.

The cabin provided everything we needed for our 3 day stay beside toiletries and food. They even had indoor and outdoor games for a family. The jacuzzi was nice as well. Very relaxing property with a nice small pond. No luck fishing. We enjoyed grilling one night too. Would go back again!

The cabin was welcoming and clean and provided basic needs. It was too hot outside to use the hot tub but it was clean and inviting. We should have done our homework better as the property didn't have a kitchen table and we love to play games/cards and the large island was not conducive, but that was our mistake for not checking this out prior to booking. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. TV in one bedroom would not connect to the internet even though it said it was connected so we were not able to use it. The pond was so gross...who knows what lives in that! The front porch had a beautiful view (aside from the pond) and we enjoyed playing games outside when the heat and bugs allowed. The cabin provided minimal towels and only four bath washcloths for four adults for four days. I am all about using a towel more than once but it was not enough especially with 90 degree heat and high humidity. Multiple showers were taken each day after spending the day outside exploring/golfing. I called the management company to request additional towels and they told us that they were unable to provide them. I was surprised. The unit did not provide a washer and dryer so we had to either buy linens or find a laundermat. We made a Walmart run and purchased additional linens.
