It felt like home and very relaxing.
We spent New Year’s in the cabin. It was a great place to relax and decompress from our busy lives. The scenery was fantastic. The cabin was spacious and comfy.
It seemed as though owners thought of everything we could need! It has a well-stocked kitchen and many things are provided by owners. It is located in a beautiful area close to Hiawatha Nat’l Forest for quiet hikes and is not far from many great spots to visit. Restaurant options are not great but the grocery store in Manistique was a pleasant surprise so we cooked at the cabin. All-in-all, we’d rent again.
Very nice property. We enjoyed our stay. Some construction on the property, but nothing that impedes enjoyment.
The cabin was very nice, had everything we needed. Beautiful Lake. It was a little to remote for our taste but we still liked it. Thank you
GREAT PLACE TO STAY! KIM WAS AWESOME TO WORK WITH WHEN WE HAD QUESTIONS. THUNDER COVE WAS EVERYTHING WE HAD HOPED FOR!
very clean, well stocked with everything you might need or want. very comfortable. host was great
had fun with daughter and son in law and some how manage to have a few wilderness experiences
nicest yet very clean and well supplied
It was amazing. The cabin had everything we could have imagined and more. Feels like home. Kayaks available so make sure you try them out.
Beautiful cabin and great location. Very peaceful lake and close to some really cool hiking spots!
Ice Fished out on the lake for several hours a day. Didn’t catch anything, and didn’t care. Excellent option for escaping the real world to sit around, relax, play cards and enjoy yourself. I would absolutely recommend this property to other visitors. Excellent commute to Manistique. Can’t beat it.
Stayed with family for a snowmobile weekend and the place worked out perfectly. It was clean, had everything we needed, and was in a beautiful location. Great communication with the owner. Would definitely recommend to others.
Our family met here for Christmas 2022 during a blizzard and the cabin was perfect for staying warm and safe. The cabin had everything we needed for prepping meals, including kitchen staples like spices, oils, sugar, etc. We enjoyed watching movies and using the WiFi as needed. The setting was beautiful - surrounded by woods, very quiet and peaceful. We would definitely meet here again in the future.
The cabin was very comfortable for our group of 4. Everything was very clean and they provided all of the amenities of home. The location was great for snowmobiling. We found very easy access to trail 413 . Overall we had a great stay at Thunder Cove Cabin!
Well equipped with anything you would ever need, wi-fi worked great. Cosy and clean.
Choose this cabin in U.P. because it was near a lake and offered everything we wanted. Super clean. Well stocked. Very friendly and caring hosts. Within driving distance to all the attractions, we were interested in. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again.
This cabin is pretty remote hard packed dirt roads are the only way to reach it especially if arriving from the north. Your car will get dirty. We did not mind this. The cabin is perfect. Beds are comfortable and there are lots of sheets, pillows and blankets. The loft area where there is an extra bed gets a little warm but fans are provided. Lots of kayaks are available free of charge and kayaking the lake is a must! The cabin is so well stocked with grocery staples that you really do not need to bring much. We didn't even visit a grocery store during our week stay. We brought our own garden vegetables and hamburger, hotdogs, and chicken for the week. The shower has a very strong spray but the tub/shower is very clean. The grill is in perfect condition. The fire pit was well stocked with wood. Roasting forks, small cooler, axe, etc., everything you need is there. We didn't have contact with the hosts while there, there wasn't any reason to. The place is perfect for a quiet and relaxing vacation. The journey is long to go to Muinising, Pictured Rocks Lakeshore, etc. But as long as you don't mind a little dirt the journey is fun! We saw 2 Eagles, lots of deer, cranes and all the other forest creatures during our stay (no bears). The waterfalls are amazing. We especially liked Miners Fall and Sable Falls. My son and wife hiked to Spray Falls. It is an 8 mile round trip hike (don't believe anyone that tells you it is any shorter!) We made it and it was beautiful! Take lots of water for the walk is strenuous in the heat of the day. We found a great restaurant in Muinising called The Duck Pond Eatery and Beer Garden. The whitefish is prepared any way you want. The beer is cold and they have full bar. The Beer Garden is pet-friendly and shaded. Loved this place especially after an 8 mile hike. We all fell in love with the Upper Peninsula and Thunder Cove Cabin Rocks!!!! Great job Gordon and Kim, we wanted for nothing more!
Great location for exploring the U.P. nice cabin on a beautiful lake.
House was very well stocked. House was a bit of a drive to get to places as it was tucked back in the woods pretty good but we actually loved the privacy and the quietness. Enjoyed our stay:)
We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin. It had all we needed for an extra long weekend with our family.
This was the perfect cozy cabin in the woods we were looking for. The kids loved the loft. We walked down to the lake everyday with our dogs and even did some fishing from our kayaks. Wifi was fast and cabin was clean. Will definitely stay again.
