Both bedroom suites have their own queen beds, TVs, and full private bathrooms. Enjoy your morning coffee in the rocking chairs on the covered front porch. Spread out in the spacious, cathedral-ceilinged great room for TV or socializing, and wind down in the hot tub after the days’ activities while the burgers sizzle on the grill.

• The birds and the wind in the trees will serenade you as you relax on the spacious rear deck, whether you’re pampering yourself in the hot tub after a long day of theme parks, hiking, or rafting, cooking up some burgers and dogs on the charcoal grill, or enjoying your meal outdoors under the umbrella-covered table. When the day is done, linger here in the fresh mountain air and gaze at a star-studded sky unhindered by the peripheral glow of city lights.

The main attractions in Sevier County are located in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and you will generally be within 30 minutes of most of them, depending on seasonality and traffic. Rough estimates are below. Busy season and high traffic will naturally add some travel time to these estimates.
• Pigeon Forge Parkway: 6 miles; 15 minutes
• Dollywood: 11 miles; 25 minutes
• The Island: 7 miles; 17 minutes
• Titanic Museum: 7 miles; 17 minutes
• Tanger Outlet Mall: 6.3 miles; 15 minutes
• Gatlinburg: 16 miles; 30 minutes
• Ripley’s Aquarium: 16 miles; 30 minutes
• Neyland Stadium, Knoxville: 21 miles; 35 minutes
• Cades Cove: 32 mountain miles; 1 hour 10 minutes

The southern part of Sevier County (pronounced “severe”) is located within the Great Smoky Mountains, so come prepared to navigate winding and sometimes steep mountain roads during your stay. The roads to get to this cabin are a bit curvy, but they are not especially steep. The driveway, however, is steep.

HOUSE RULES:

Guests: The Rental Party is limited to four people, including infants, and must include at least one Guest who is at least 25 years old. We will ask for the names and ages of all adult guests and the ages of all minor guests.

No pets.

No parties. A Sevier County sheriff’s deputy owns three cabins in the neighborhood, and he patrols the neighborhood all the time. We also have his direct personal number.

No illegal drugs or activity anywhere on the Property. See the prior paragraph about our friendly neighborhood sheriff’s deputy.

No smoking or vaping inside the Property or on the front porch or rear deck.

Quiet hours: Neighborhood quiet hours are between 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. You don’t have to whisper; just don’t wake the neighbors.

Parking: There are two garage spaces and room for two more vehicles in the driveway if you need it. Do not park on the road, on the lawn, or in any other property’s driveway.

Hot tub: Use at your own risk. Do your own research on the safe use of hot tubs. No children under the age of 5, and no children under the age of 12 without adult supervision. Do not add anything like soap or oils, etc. to the hot tub water. Do not set the temperature higher than 104 degrees. Leave the cover on when not in use. Do not sit or stand, or place anything heavy, on the cover.

Charcoal grill: Use at your own risk. No children under the age of 18 are to operate the grill. Clean the grill well after each use.

Water and Septic System: The Property is on a shared well and a quasi-public/private septic/sewer system. The tap water is safe but may taste differently than you are used to, so you may want to purchase some bottled water to have on hand. The septic/sewer system is not designed to handle improper material, so do not flush anything other than human waste and toilet paper down the toilet.

Don’t run the heat or air conditioning with the windows open.

Observe Check-In and Check-Out times. There are usually guests before you and guests after you, and our cleaning crew needs time in-between to make sure everything is ready for your stay.

Departure Checklist: As with most vacation rental properties, you will be asked to do a few minor things prior to departure, such as putting dirty dishes in the dishwasher, taking the garbage out, putting the dirty towels in a place our cleaning crew expects them to be, etc.

A friend and I stayed at the Black Beary Cabin for a few days while exploring the Smoky Mountain National Park. Everything was as described and clean. The hot tub was a welcome amenity after long hikes! Would definitely stay again when back in the area

The location of this cabin was ideal for us. We have a child at UTK that we were moving in, but we also wanted to enjoy being in the mountains and enjoy Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The host communicated very well and offered great advice on staying in the area. The cabin was very clean and was very spacious. The cleaning crew goes above and beyond with presentation. They provided bathroom necessities in case you forgot anything and also provided a nice snack basket. My only negatives were no view of the Smokies from the back deck and no fire pit. We wouldn’t have had time to enjoy a fire this trip but it might be an important consideration for some. We would definitely stay here again!

The cabin was exactly as stated and had everything we needed. The driveway was steep as reported. The location is close to all the attractions but also secluded! We would definitely recommend this cabin. The host was attentive and helpful!

Overall the cabin was adequate for the purpose of our trip. The pictures make it look bigger than it actually is, but for 3 or 4 people it is just the right size. The neighborhood was nice and very quiet. I wish the backyard had a better view. It's just the forest. From a practical sense it would be great to have a full length mirror somewhere in the cabin and a light in the small bedroom closet.
