Great location to walk to Village. The only thing I wish I got instructions for was which direction to pull/push the fireplace vent to open. Also recommend that you include instructions on how to operate and/or just to change the temperature for the hot tub and where the light switch for back yard was. I would recommend changing the sheets to ones that aren’t rough and using a thicker comforter vs layers of blankets that don’t stay on bed so well. The TV in one of the bedrooms did not work with Amazon stick there or remote ran out of battery (either way, it did not work). I’d also recommend adding a couple of wine glasses and one extra soap for hand washing in bathroom. Oh, slightly inconvenient to not have dishwasher with the limited counter space. It would be nice to also just have code for the door vs carrying a key. Thanks for listening to the feedback.
We had a nice stay in Big Bear. It was very easy to check in and to find the house. We were an easy drive to every place we wanted to visit and the property manager was responsive to our needs.
Very quiet and relaxing
My husband and I stayed one night for a short honeymoon after a courthouse wedding. I picked this location because of the proximity to the village and the hot tub. Unfortunately the hot tub was yellow when we opened the lid and we ultimately decided not to use it during our stay. That was disappointing since it was the main factor in why we chose that location. However, communication was great from Big Bear Rentals and the company was incredibly smooth for check in and check out. I would recommend the company and use them again.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed our weekend stay. The location was perfect - Big Bear Village was a less-than-10-minute walk from the cabin. We enjoyed hiking, strolling along the Stanfield Marsh boardwalk, and eating/drinking/shopping in town. The cabin was fine for 2 people. There’s only 1 bathroom so it might be a tight fit for more than 1 couple, a small family, or 2-3 close friends. I don’t believe the cabin had a dishwasher which was fine for us since we ate all meals in town. The couch was comfy, and the place was clean. Perfect for a short stay.
Everything was awesome, check in was a breeze
We enjoyed our stay
We arrived before a pending blizzard. Yes we were told about the snow however we arrived with a vehicle prepared for and capable of traveling in the snow. However when we arrived we were told we had to shovel the property ourselves. I am completely fine with shoveling what has accumulated since the time of our arrival. However when we arrived at the property it was clear that it had not been shoveled in days as the snow in the driveway was ice pack and unable to be cleared with a conventional shovel. The shovel provided was tethered to the house and did not even reach to the end of the driveway and was so small it seemed like a shovel used for dirt. We called the property to inform them that we couldn’t even break through the snow pack with the shovel and they promised to send a plow but a plow did not appear and we eventually went and found our own shovel to get a dent out of the driveway so we could at least get our car a little bit of the street. Every property in the area that was managed by a company other than Big Bear Vacations was being plowed with a professional plow. Once we got in, the dishes were found in the cabinet and had clearly not been washed as some glasses had lipstick on them. The hot tub water was murky and had a strong mold smell. The container that normally holds chlorine tablets was completely empty. I’m from Colorado so I’m well traveled in snowy conditions and know that you must prepare ahead of time and just telling people to reschedule their vacation rather than adequately preparing your property for the snow is not good property management. The property should be cleared of the snow when I arrive and I should only have to clear what has accumulated during my stay.
Very good location but unfortunately the house was pretty dirty and the kitchen appliances were old/somewhat broken The heater did not go over 75 degrees and the spa lights did not work. All the knobs and handles in the house for the doors/ cabinets were oily
It’s was perfect for the weekend and enjoyable for the whole group. Definitely coming back!!
Perfect location to be close to the Village. Close but not too close. House is really nice and clean. Lots of room to hang out in the living room and watch a movie. We didn’t use the spa, but it sounded like it was keeping itself clean. Check in process was the only thing that I felt could be better. We were told to come check in then we would get an email with the info closer to check in time, and I ended up having to call. Also the chat feature didn’t seem to work. But all in all, I would definitely stay there again next time we come. Heater worked great. Couch seemed new so I noticed someone had reviewed that it was old and broken, they must have listened and replaced it. Highly recommend!
We’ve been wanting to book a small intimate spot for a little weekend getaway and her only request was to be pet friendly and a hot tub.. and this was exactly what we wanted.
We had a great time in Big Bear and at this cabin. The only thing I wish is that we would have been able to stay longer. The hot tub was a great way to unwind at the end of the day and we had a nice bbq on the deck. Thanks!
This was a nice cabin. Perfect size for 2 besties on a weekend getaway. Hot tub was GREAT. Some really simple upgrades could make this place outstanding. The shower REALLY needs some help. Location is wonderful! Loved the wood burning fireplace.
