Our favorite part of the property was the deck and dock that extend into the river. Although there isn’t a lot of room on the property to explore, we went went up the road and enjoyed miles of hiking trails. The property is very peaceful and quiet and everything about the cabin was just as advertised. Would absolutely stay there again!
Loved the cabin, but the oppressive heat and lack of air conditioning forced us to spend more time away from the cabin. Definitely would stay again in cooler weather
We really enjoyed our stay here and meeting Tricia. She was very friendly and helpful. The cabin came with all the amenities we needed. It's location along the river is beautiful. We were close enough to stores and restaurants to not be inconvenienced. Trips to the nearby lighthouses, state and national recreation areas could easily be made.
Absolutely everything we were looking for. Beautiful, peaceful, adorable cabin on the Boardman River. Tricia our Host was absolutely amazing. We are already checking out next years dates to visit this location again! RiverShire is everything and more.
Great communication, assisted us with unexpected early check in, friend watching property was just SUPER! Was everything we needed for the stay. Folks, this a cabin on the river, if cobwebs/bugs or a bit of a musty smell, etc is going to bother you, this may not be the place for you. It was very clean otherwise, bathroom linens fresh and well appointed for our stay. Only negative was there wasn’t much for privacy. Neighbor was blowing leaves most of a day, a lot of time right outside the window. There is a dock across the river that people were frequently fishing from, staring directly in bay window (blind is there but tied in a fashion we did not feel it was intended to be lowered) and of course random kayakers going by. Not a big deal for us, but could be important to others. I would 100% stay again!
We loved Rivershire❤️ Nice, quiet, and very clean.
I booked the Rivershire to have peace at the one year anniversary of my husband’s passing. I knew I needed to be near water and in the woods as that’s where we found our peace and joy when together. I could not have asked for a more perfect setting. Tricia even left flowers from her garden and a beautiful card outside my door when she found out the reason for my stay.I slept 9-10 hours each of the 4 nights! That’s not like me at all, I’m lucky to get 7 most nights. Tricia’s book is a must read as well. I couldn’t be happier with my stay.❤️☮️
Good location, nice view.
Cozy cabin right on the river
Wonderful place! Peaceful and close to Traverse City. Several attractions just a short drive away!
This little cottage on the Boardman River offers the comforts of home with a lovely view of the Boardman River and all the nature that surrounds it. The cottage is clean and well appointed. The owner, Tricia Frey, made us feel welcome and assured us that she would be available if we needed anything. As it turned out, we had all we needed to enjoy our stay.
Loved waking up each morning and sitting beside the river. Quaint little cabin. Awesome experience.
We had a wonderful time in this small cabin. Immersed in nature, but not far from the city!
Comfy Cabin
Great property on the Boardman River just minutes from Traverse City. Even when the weather isn't the best can still enjoy a relaxing time watching the river from inside the cizy cabin. Property was very clean and owner very nice and welcoming.
We had a great stay. The view from the main room is amazing, and it is a very quiet and peaceful spot. This was everything we were looking for to have a quiet and relaxing weekend. It is also very close to Traverse City and area outdoor adventures.
We had a wonderful stay at the cabin! The property was beautiful and the river was tranquil. It was easy to get to Old Mission Peninsula and downtown Traverse City. We will definitely return!
If you're looking for a remote, quiet place right on the beautifully clear Boardman River yet a quick drive into TC, this is the place.
We enjoyed sitting on the patio and watching the water. I can't wait to learn more about the river and retuning to float!
Strongly recommend! Loved our stay.
Had a wonderful stay and the location was absolutely the best. Very peaceful and relaxing. Our host was very accommodating. I highly recommend.
Cabin was fine. Little dock over creek was wonderful for morning tea and reading. Good location. Hiked, kayaked and picked cherries close by. Got some nice recommendations from host for some local places. No frills but very relaxing
The Cabin at Rivershire was a great place to get some rest and relaxation, with a beautiful clear stream running by just outside our large bay window. Traverse City was only a 15 minute drive with lots of shopping and restaurants to choose from. Plenty to do in the area from canoeing , hiking or to just enjoying a day at one the many beaches available. Be sure and take a tour of the many Vineyards on the nearby Laleenau peninsula. Our host Tricia was very nice and accommodating ,making sure our stay was a pleasant one .Rivershire gets s BIG thumbs up from us !
During my short stay, I was able to disconnect and enjoy the natural beauty of this property. Bird songs and the gently flowing river replaced thoughts of deadlines. However, there is Wi-Fi available for those who cannot totally disconnect. This is a good base to explore Traverse City and the surrounding region, including Leelanau County. The owners are very receptive to questions and concerns. I highly recommend a stay here!
The Cabin at Rivershire is charming with old-school touches like the sliding windows, knotty pine and vintage light fixtures. The Boardman River is on the doorstep and provides beautiful views and glimpses of nature. Highly recommended
