The cabin is a small older mobile home in a resort style development. The living area was very nicely updated and other than the fact that they retained the wood paneling and the back door, it was not really evident that it was a mobile home. The bathroom was updated as well, however, the faucets in the bathroom are a bit lose. Not a big deal, but it was a bit unsettling if you accidently bumped them. The showerhead was one of those large rain showerheads. It was fine, but if you like a lot of water pressure when you shower, keep that in mind. There was also a request not to flush toilet paper or anything else other than waste, which was unusual, but everything in the area is on septic, so it was probably related to that. The internet was spotty at times, but given the location, that wasn't surprising. Netflix seemed to work fine and I had just enough cell phone reception, that we didn't really have any issues. Just something to keep in mind if you need reliable internet, you may want to find a local hotel to stay at. The carpets in the bedrooms are ready for replacement, and there are a few other updates that are still needed, but overall, it was really nice, and for the price, it was fantastic. It is really hard to find a decent property that isn't 2-3 times the price of a hotel or higher after all of the fees are factored in. This property was well kept, and reasonably priced, fees included and the privacy was well worth any minor inconveniences.
The location was perfect for accept to the Eastern side of Olympic National Park, and the adorable town of Hood sport. The house was quiet, and comfortable.
This is an older manufactured home with plenty of modern touches. Adults loved the huge kitchen sink, the rain showerhead, and the comfy beds while the young grandson thought the pool was the best. The lake was great for swimming and paddling but we couldn't try out the fire pit or bbq grill because of a county-wide burn ban. The pups were just happy to be with us. A couple of glitches were handled well with good communication from the host. The resort subdivision is up on a hill and some of the driveways are super steep but this wasn't an issue for us, not in the summer at least. The Hood Canal is nearby and Lake Cushman is not far. Some of us hiked in the Staircase area of Olympic NP, about a 40 minute drive away. Otherwise, it's a very quiet area.
This cabin was perfect for what we were looking for. We had mountains, the pool, great beach on small community lake, the ocean, and endless beauty to explore right out the door. The cabin has a steep driveway, and the septic is a little close so outside we did get the smell a little, we were disappointed there was a burning ban and no fires would be allowed, but these things are out of the owners control and I believe the cabin is at a price point that it’s reasonable to deal with. The beds are super comfortable, and the cabin was very clean with treats and snacks on the counter to greet us. I would absolutely recommend this cabin, and plan on writing a thank you letter to the host.
Nice and quiet renovated manufactured home, not far from community activities, playground and pool. We loved the campfire area with toddler swing and hammock for our kids, plus a cute s'mores welcome basket. Foosball table in the living room and a good collection of DVDs for movie nights was fun. One thing that caught us off guard was the do not flush toilet paper sign. It was a little awkward and took a lot of reminders for the kids.
