The space
This 600 sq foot charming cabin sits near the base of a one acre hill and is built into the hillside for extra privacy!
There is a larger fenced area in the backyard that encloses a smaller fenced-in area. The larger fenced area has a gate at the back where you can leave and explore uphill even further!
The house is on one level, although some steps are required to get onto the decks and inside the house.
The cabin is the perfect romantic spot for two! We can also accommodate families and have provided toys, books, a pack n' play, and a highchair along with children plates and utensils. All shades/curtains in the cabin are room-darkening. Radon mitigation complete and Blueair air filter available so you and your loved ones can breathe easier.
3-person canoe available for use (included with your reservation!) during in-season May 1-Oct 31. We also have a variety of life jacket sizes available for your use. You assume all risk if you choose to use our provided canoe. You are also welcome to bring your own electric boats, canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards. No swimming/wading allowed (this is the case for almost all Colorado bodies of water).

The main lake (Burgess Reservoir) is only 1/4th of a mile walk from the cabin! There is also small parking area at the dock. Main lake access for boating (electric boats only), kayaking, paddleboarding, & canoeing is only allowed between May 1-October 31st. Fishing to include ice fishing is only allowed when the flag under Burgess Island is green and costs $10/day per person. Other things to note
PLEASE READ PRIOR TO BOOKING!
-Only 4 adults are allowed or 6 guests total with children.
-Please note that this is a *quiet* neighborhood and no parties or disruptive activities are permitted at the cabin. All neighborhood and recreation rules must be followed as outlined in the house manual. Although this cabin is in a rural location, it is still located in a neighborhood and we have neighbors surrounding the property.
-There are 2 security cameras- one the exterior front of the house and one on the front shed. These cameras are on at all times and record video for your safety. There are NO cameras at the back of the house, near the hot tub, or inside the home.
-We have the fastest internet possible but it still can be slow, depending on the time of day. You should still be able to get any remote work done, particularly during the day.
-Cell phone service can be spotty depending on your location and service. I have found I have the best connection on the front deck and in the master bedroom. Consider using this time to unplug! =)
-The cabin is located at a high altitude of 9,200 feet and altitude sickness may occur. Please take the necessary precautions and preparations to help you live at this elevation.
-Absolutely NO campfires. We take fire safety very seriously and you will be asked to leave if there is any unsafe or illegal fire activity. There is a gas firepit outside for your use!
-There is lots of wildlife in the area! Please do not leave any food or trash outside since bears and other animals frequent the area.
-You may want to consider arriving for check-in during daylight. At night, the roads are dark in the neighborhood and the cabin may be hard to find.
-The neighborhood roads are unpaved and may be bumpy in some spots. Your vehicle should have 4WD/AWD if you are traveling to the cabin between November-May. The driveway is unpaved and we make every attempt to keep it clear, but there may be some residual snow and ice due to the nature of the cabin environment. The neighborhood roads will be plowed if there is 6+ inches of snow.
