All cleaning policies meet or exceed CDC standards and recommendations. Our team wears new masks, gloves and shoes covers each time they enter home to prepare it for a new stay. We clean and disinfect all hard surfaces and high-touch items such as appliance handles, light switches, door knobs, remote controls, etc. We also clean and disinfect all dishes/glassware, silverware, bedding, towels and other linens as well as tubs and toilets. Meredith Lodging has added the extra measure of a pre-check-in inspection to make sure all of our cleaning and disinfecting procedures are complete and to our standard before you arrive.
Once it passes inspection, your home sits empty until you arrive for your contact-free check-in. Additionally, if your home features a private hot tub, rest assured it is disinfected, treated and cleaned thoroughly after each departure so that you and your guests can enjoy it with peace of mind during your stay.
My partner & I booked to stay a few days around Mt Hood for some day hiking at the tail end of our trip. The cabin was well located - easy enough to drive to several of the trails but also an easy drive back to Portland for us to catch our flight. The cabin was really lovely aside from a few small things - 1) There were starter amounts of most basic supplies (like dish soap) with the exception of paper towels. There was maybe a handful of napkins but no paper towels in the kitchen. 2) The coffee pot reservoir was pretty grim & saw at least one dead mosquito inside. We picked up some vinegar and ran it through the water reservoir a few passes to sort that out. 3) The TV service in the living room wasn't working and we couldn't work out why. There was an Amazon Fire stick plugged in but it didn't have a power cable so couldn't get that running either. All minor things and we still had a wonderful stay aside from that. The cabin truly is stocked for nearly any kind of cooking you'd want to do. They have a full cabinet of games. The area around the cabin is wonderfully tranquil with all the trees. We saw a small family of deer wandering around a few times which was a treat.
We had a great time!
Easy check in, well stocked, and super comfy! Quick drive to skiing and sledding. Tucked into a quiet, wooded area!
Could use more upkeep, trash all over yard when we got there.. mice droppings in the pull out.
Great for a small family getaway!
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Cozy Bear Cabin is the perfect place for a couple on an intimate getaway with the outdoor hot tub. It is also wonderful for a family ready to enjoy beautiful trails and time in front of the indoor wood-burning stove with games, or outside sitting near the fire pit roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. The home has everything you need to prepare home cooked meals. (We even had waffles one morning!)For outdoor activities, the start of the Salmon River Trail head is only 3 min. away from the cabin. It is one of the most picturesque hikes suitable for little ones too.The Zig Zag Inn, 5 min. away, is nostalgic and offers great Italian food and especially pizza. The Dragonfly Cafe, 10 min. away, offers amazing prime rib dinners on Fri. and Sat. nights. We will definitely be back.
Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When the weather changed and gave Oregon an epic storm, this was a very nice place to be. We thought the week would be cold and dry, lots of skiing, snowshoeing and hot tubing. That did turn out to be the case, but much closer to the cabin, right outside the door in fact. We ordered more wood before the storm, so we were nice and toasty warm. Luckily our power stayed on all week. This is a lovely warm cabin with a great location, far enough from town to seem remote, but close enough if one needed something. The cabin was clean, pretty well appointed, attractively decorated, and darn comfortable.
Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nightmare of a trip. We get inside, No wood stove for heat, just a sign saying “sorry it’s broken” during January in the mountains, somewhere where power was out. The power goes out often, and they are so unprepared. I shouldn’t even need to say more but to save someone else from this experience I will. Door was locked when we got there, door code did not work. We had to wait an hour in the cold with a 2 year old waiting for them to come open it. No emergency lighting even though the website says it is included. No landline as stated in the book. Random stranger came on to the property and was declining to leave, we had no way to call for help. The electricity was off all weekend. The property owners knew an entire day before we checked in and offered no Warning so we could bring lighting. The people who work here offer no help, they are rude and do not care. I do not recommend staying with this company. The cabin itself was beautiful so it was a huge shame. There was also a huge tree that had fallen on the hot tub. So dangerous! The floors were also dirty when we got there and covered in someone else’s dog hair. It was truly a nightmare. Had to get refunded for the whole weekend thankfully after I was yelled at and lied to by Trish from their office.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin is a wonderful getaway in the middle of a gorgeous area full of hiking opportunities. Lots of room, nice kitchen, very comfy master bed and nice living room area complete with TV and movie channels such as Netflix. Security motion lights make you feel safe with a nice fire pit and plenty of wood. There is no AC, but we kept the windows open and it cooled us very well. The hot tub works well, but difficult to use at night as there are no lights in the vicinity of the hot tub. We would definitely come back again.
