In December, we stayed at this cabin in Tennessee, and unfortunately, the property was poorly maintained and quite old. The furniture was scratched and dirty. The floor was filthy, and behind the TV, there were dead bugs . It seemed like the floor hadn’t been washed with water in a long time. The kitchen cabinets inside were damaged and not repaired or remodeled. The property only has one parking space, not suitable for a large car.I’d also like to mention that the glasses and plates were dirty, as if no one truly cleaned anything, and renters must be the ones cleaning up. The brooms, mops, and cleaning supplies were left beside the refrigerator, and everything was disgustingly dirty. This was overall a disappointing experience.

This is a cute little property, if you are planning on spending alot of time away from the cabin it’s perfect. I would say the cabin is a little outdated. No smart tv in the bedroom we stayed in. We didn’t use the upstairs. Also, there was a 5 disc cd player that took me back to my highschool days. There is no table on the balcony as pictured. I was a little disappointed on how outdated the cabin was but the stay was nice.

Beautiful views. Cabin was cozy and warm. Hot tub was great to soak in after a lot of walking. My son and I used the pool table a lot. Nice rustic feel to it and unassuming. Everything was clean and comfortable. Even had a bear attack our truck and tore open the tonneau cover looking for goodies…which there were none. We are not even mad. We thought it was hilarious. Close proximity to downtown. Enjoyed every minute of it.

I was notified a few days before arrival that the chimney had damage and we couldn’t light the gas fire. No big deal. But then it rained and the cabin leaked in three locations. When we left in the daylight the next day we could see the chimney was completely broken on the ground and there was a tarp covering part of the roof. I don’t think they should have rented it in that condition. Luckily it stopped raining. But the floors already have damage from past rains.

How can I describe the unique experience of Gatlinburg’s UNcozy Bear cabin? It’s kind of like that MTV show, Catfish. You show up expecting a “hard 6” with a pool table and hot tub. Only to find a creaky, outdated shrine to Elvis, complete with peeling window tint and water damage from a leaky roof! If you bring your kids, make sure to pack their flashlights and light-up sketchers for the long and dark decent down to the cabin! Once you make it down safely, enjoy a brisk dip in the hot tub for all the neighbors to see! After a soak in the tub, grab one of the broken sticks and play a quick game of pool with the family. Just make sure to keep your shoes on as the pool balls have a tendency to slip through the holes in the pockets and land on your feet! After all the excitement and swelling ends, follow the many bear decorations and Elvis memorabilia to the bedrooms for a long night of tossing and turning on the most uncomfortable beds you’ll ever sleep on. While you contemplate ways to keep the temperature regulated long enough to pass out, remember the only “cozy bear” will be in your car if you don’t lock the doors! So, if you’ve ever wanted to use the same model and year appliances that Elvis Presley once used…..then maybe The UNcozy Bear is a good fit for your next cabin retreat! Don’t worry, they won’t change a thing!

I found the drive up the mountains rough- I realize this might be normal- but it required being back by dark. The parking spot didn’t fit our car, which was a challenge. I was also very confused by being called at 11 pm by the property and told to evacuate immediately, despite not being in the evacuation area. Being from out of town, in a major wind storm leaving in the middle of the night was a huge challenge- especially since none of our neighbors were evacuated. I understand the abundance of caution, however driving down the mountain with trees falling was equally dangerous. I felt it was unfair to be told to evacuate when we were no where near the zone.

Late Summer trip. Everything was clean and in working order. The deck provides a beautiful view of the mountains that is fairly private from other nearby houses. Hot tub area is very private. The water pressure is lower than normal (I expect due to being up on a mountain side) but certainly manageable. Did not see any rodents, bugs, etc. inside. The drive up mountain roads is extremely steep; recommend AWD or 4WD especially if coming in the winter. Overall, wonderful place to stay and I would stay again.
