This was our 4 th stay in this charming cabin between Christmas and New Years. The perfect place to unwind after the holidays. Stacy is a wonderful host and always says “ hello” with a fresh baked pie from a local bakery. She’s wonderful and accommodating to work with. Nice and roomy and stocked beautifully. Look forward to our next visit

What an amazing Christmas stay here! It was so cozy, relaxing and Stacy is such a GREAT host! Very accommodating to ensure we had an excellent stay. Upon arrival we walked into the place with a pie from a local bakery in Cloudcroft! We will absolutely be back and 100% recommend.

Wonderful porch!

Our family really enjoyed our stay. Great location within walking distance of the shops and restaurants on Burro Ave. Stacy kindly left us a pie for our arrival that was delicious! We will definitely stay here again.

Our favorite features of this cabin: location very convenient for walking into town, up to the Lodge or just wandering, huge covered porch with rocking chairs and swing, all the kitchen utensils and dinnerware you’d ever need.Highly recommended!

The cabin was comfortable and well equipped. We stayed for seven nights and had a wonderful time. We saw elk and deer everyday while sitting on the front porch. Would definitely stay again.

We had such a great stay. The cabin was clean and stocked with all we needed. The owners have a great understanding of what is needed for travellers. The location is perfect for the little town of Cloudcroft. It also gave us great access to other locations nearby, like Sunspot, Alamogordo, and White Sands.

Overall, a very good experience. Everything was functional, clean, and well furnished.

Cabin was spacious for the whole family. Great location in town and walkable to everything.

This is our 3rd time staying in this home. Very charming. Have already made a reservation for next year at the same time. The housekeeping service does need to pay closer attention. Very dirty oven at checkin and no toilet paper. Host was unaware.

We enjoy our stay at the El Matador cabin. We like the location of the cabin, quiet and within walking distance to Burro Street and close to hiking trails. The kitchen is well equipped for us to prepare our Thanksgiving meal. Overall we have a great stay.

We have stayed at Matador twice now and we just love this cabin! Stacey has left a mouth-watering fresh pie inside the cabin for us both times, and it’s a very thoughtful and inviting welcome. Matador is thoughtfully laid out, has everything one needs, and is in a beautiful and fun spot within the village. The porch is a wonderful afternoon spot to watch the world go by. The kitchen has a big beautiful window that lets you take in the forest while cooking. We always sleep well here! Matador is a great central location for an enormous amount of outdoor activity. It’s off the main highway, but close enough to stroll to Burro St. We hope to return here again and again!

Me, husband and in-laws stayed for 4th of July, we’ve stayed all over New Mexico and Colorado cabins and this is by far the best stocked cabin ever, we even had a Carmel Apple Pie waiting for us at arrival. Our dogs enjoyed the gated patio and watching deer and elk pass by. We’ve been to Cloudcroft many times but never on the 4th of July holiday, crowds were insane, looking forward to coming back with less crowds. Cabin is close to everything downtown, neighborhood was quite but the side street was very busy. Beds and furnishings were cozy, clean and comfortable. Would recommend and stay again! Thanks for having us!

The property is a little dated but very clean, comfortable and well equipped I especially enjoyed the wrap around porch. The peach pie was an added bonus!?
