Our cabin is on 14 beautiful wooded acres with three waterfalls seen from a covered, open porch, with updated kitchen and baths.
Highlands/Cashiers offers shops, chamber music, Summer Theater, mountains to climb, golf courses, tennis, hiking trails, swimming lakes, super sights to photograph and paint plus great places to dine.
The cabin has two full baths, four single and two queen size beds in four bedrooms (two queen beds and bedrooms are on ground floor), and a balcony overlooking living room and large stone fireplace (uses real logs). All natural wood and many windows, kitchen updated in 2017: granite and tile, dishwasher, new stove, new fridge, built in microwave. AND the master bedroom has clothes washer/ dryer! BOTH BATHROOMS FULLY UPDATED with tile, and granite counters. Space heaters are in each room.
There is a covered porch and a patio with an outdoor firepit. No TV but there is a DVD player, and cell service is great - you can use your phone as a hotspot for internet streaming.
We had an excellent stay over a beautiful October weekend. The property is as advertised and even better. We had great communication with the manager, with clear instructions. The property is private and secluded, but close to town. The Fall colors all around us were awesome!
Such a cozy mountain home! We thoroughly enjoyed the personal, historic details posted on the wall about the home and property. Absolutely charming atmosphere-- would definitely rent here again.
This place is awesome. It’s a real cabin, which is hard to find around Highlands these days. The location and the cabin itself help you feel even more in the mountains, rather than removed from them. The waterfall is gorgeous — the owners undersell it if anything! We are already talking about a return trip
Our family enjoyed the stay in this cabin for the second time. The waterfalls on the property are a big part of our activity! We will definitely be back! Missy and Fritz Orr
Our family enjoyed unplugging and unwinding in this very special place. It was just as described and very suitable for our group. We hope to visit again. The location was convenient to town but still secluded.
Jennifer was great communicating and let us come in early (we did not make it till 4 anyway). When we got there NO heat. Was told there was space heaters--2 for entire house plus 2 more decorative things that gave little heat. Fireplace was great but needed much more wood. Instead of being concerned over my elderly aunt walking down to the waterfall should be concerned over cold house and no heat al all in either bathroom! Speaking of the waterfall--if you have great eyesight (which my 90 year old aunt no longer has) you can a TINY white spot from the porch. You can hear it well. Nice updated kitchen. Granddad did a wonderful job on his home.
Wonderfly rustic and very private. You can just see the top of the small waterfall from the patio. The host was very gracious and promptly dealt with a plumbing issue we had on arrival. She seemed more bothered by it than we were but it was fixed first thing in the morning. My daughter and son-in-law loved it as well and we plan on returning.
We had the best time as this beautiful cabin. Loved hearing the waterfall!
A sweet cabin on 14 acres close to town. Communication with the property owner is excellent. Will definitely come back!
Enjoyed the beauty surrounding this lovely cabin. Beautiful property with waterfall. Quiet peaceful days spent on the porch listening to the sound of the waterfall. Thank you for sharing this place.
Our family of four loved our recent stay in this cabin. The cabin feels very homey. The waterfall is beautiful & peaceful. We loved feeling away from it all but only 10 minutes to downtown Highlands.
