This charming cottage sits near the shore of Lake Michigan amidst low dunes. It is shaded by large conifers and hardwoods. It has a screened porch and deck, great for vacation relaxation. In five minutes you can walk to a gorgeous, wide, clean sand beach, ideal for sunning and swimming. You can walk north for miles along the beach. If you're ready for more serious exercise, you can set off running or biking nearby shaded roads or pick up designated bike trails. It is truly a beautiful location. The owner's adjacent home is well maintained with flower and vegetable gardens. The walk to the beach takes approx 10 minutes. New AC in 2020!

Everything was wonderful! My dog and I had a spectacular stay in wonderful surroundings. Can’t wait to come back.
Great place to stay in Montague/Whitehall area. Access to private beach, it’s just a short walk and you’re there! We visited the beach on a Wednesday and had basically the whole beach to ourselves. Would highly recommend!
Second time we stayed here, loved it. Beach is wonderful with close proximity to Whitehall, pier and all the things we love about visiting Michigan
This cottage was exactly as described. Great location! Beautiful walk down to beach and out to pier. Good communication! It provides everything you need for a fun stay, including a gift basket with wine and 2 glasses!
This quaint little cottage was just just getting ticket for our short stay on the Lake Michigan coast. The cottage sits on the same property of the main house of the owner, but it didn’t feel like we were lacking any privacy. The walk down to the lake is pretty magical. There is private access to the beach that goes past the owner’s tiered gardens, along a bridge that crosses a sound, and through some sand dunes before you get to the water. It’s a bit of a hike, but it’s so worth it!
Clean, cosy and I liked the lighting throughout. The refrigerator broke early on, but the property owner Oscar replaced it soon after.
Beautiful location. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable with plenty of space. The walk to the beach is beautiful but includes a lot of steps and soft sand dunes. There is access at the end of the road that may be a little easier for some.
This property was a nice little property in a quiet area. It is about 1/4 mile hike to the beach, and there were often beach advisories during our stay, so we didn't swim during our trip. The furniture is on the older side, so the couches were not the most comfortable, unfortunately. However, we didn't spend too much time at the cabin, so it didn't affect us much. The TV service is Roku and streaming services, so we were able to find a variety of programming to suit our needs. Overall, nice, clean cabin.
Everything we wanted for a perfectly relaxing week away. Easy access to the private beach for great morning and evening walks and a secluded and quiet area for the downtime we were craving. If you want a quiet and less touristy area with easy drives to places with lots of activity, you can’t go wrong here!
We just returned from a four day stay at the lake house. It was the perfect size for our family, but is on the smaller size so if you have kids or teens that want a lot of personal space you may want to take that into consideration. The house is set back a good distance from the road, so we felt safe having our kids run in the yard. The trek to the beach is down a lot of stairs that is to the right of the owners house and across a dune, but we were able to do it with our three kids under 8. The hardest part was getting a cooler down there because you couldn’t drag it most way. But once you are down there it is worth it. The beach is amazing and the water is shallow for a very good amount out. Perfect for our family. We spent an entire day there with very tired kiddos afterward. In town montague foods had everything you need. And you must try pekadill for sandwiches and ice cream one day!! One small thing that was never mentioned is the washing machine is in the cellar with the entrance outside of the house. Took us a minute to find it! Overall a wonderful stay and one of our favorite locations.
