The location and layout of the house were good for our party of 15 and the property manager was pleasant enough. The cleanliness of the house was not great. As mentioned in other reviews, there were big cobwebs in the large windows, dust covering the ceiling fans, the appliances were old and dirty. The comforters on the bed were dry clean only and extra blankets were to be returned to closets after use, which led us to believe they probably don't get cleaned between each guest. We also didn't receive a contract on this (non-refundable) stay until two days before, which included a long list of expectations and things we were to bring ourselves, which I've never encountered in another short-term rental before, especially at this price point: bring your own towels (beach AND bath), laundry soap, extra paper towels and toilet paper (you're limited during your stay), toiletries (no shampoo/conditioner provided), don't sit on comforters, etc. We try to come to Bear Lake every year and I would not choose to stay at this or any other property managed by this company again.
Our group of 15 loved this property! There was room for all and the kids enjoyed the loft space. The yard was a great addition and we brought games to play on the grass and deck each evening. Views couldn’t be better and the location was prime for running into town for dinner or a raspberry shake. Would stay here again!
We were so disappointed with this property. It was filthy. The internet would not connect. Garbage from previous guest on the ground. Stained sheets. Every soap dispenser was watered down. Toilets were dirty. Dusty, dead bugs, cobwebs, and grime from not being cleaned. We were shocked at what we paid to stay at this property and how dirty it was. We told the rest of our family to stay home. We left the property early because it wasn’t comfortable being at a dirty home.
great place, close to sking and snowmobiling. our kids had a lot of fun inside and outside of the cabin.
The rental process was easy, even for someone technologically challenged. We were walked through every step of the way. The home was very comfortable for our large family, with plenty of beds, and plenty to do. The only negative part was the owners felt they had to limit our toilet paper usage to one roll per bathroom per day. When paying that much for a place to stay, it seems ludicrous to try to control our bathroom activities. We didn’t use all of our “allotted” amount, but we had a good laugh about it every day.
Had plenty of rooms and beds for our group of 18. All the kids stayed upstairs in the loft - which they loved because they never stopped playing pool.
Cabin was convenient and perfect for our family
We loved!
We loved staying at this cabin. Great vista of the lake and close to everything. Close to Marina as well as many of the eateries and great walking/bike paths. The host made sure we were well taken care of and check-in went very smoothly.
First of all, Joyce is amazing and very responsive. If you call, she is quick to answer. I rent from homeaway about 3 to 4 times a year. Pros: -Location, location, location. The beach is so close. -Good size. -Loved the deck. The chairs are all reclinable and rock. -The little playground was a plus. -Joyce sent over Bear Lake raspberry jam - which was amazing. -Enough bathrooms for everyone. -The kitchen was well equipped except for plates and cups. Cons -We have never been required to bring our own towels. We did not know that this was the case until the morning of. Joyce did bring us all the towels we needed with one phone call. We did bring our own beach towels, though. -Not as clean as I expected. The upper windows have cobwebs. The tops of the fans and lights need Dusting. -We did not have enough plates and cups for our group. -The main floor rooms are quite toasty in July. There are swamp coolers that you add water to. They just didn't help enough over night. The basement is quite cool and even the loft has an air conditioner. - The check out expectations are more than we have ever had. I expect to load the dishwasher - but not to empty it, so I handwashed everything and put it away. - I expect to start a load in the washer, but not to get it into the dryer and another load started. -I have never heard of not sitting on a comforter. -The dish soap is watered down, so we ran out quickly and washing greasy dishes was difficult. -There were no full-sized glasses for water-only little plastic cups.
