Charming clean well stocked. Forced air heating worked great, and plenty of hot water. Cons: VERY steep and unsafe steps from driveway to front door. Could be helped by installing a handrail. VERY steep and scary spiral staircase to main living area. Carrying everything and down almost made the stay not worth it. Finally NO CELL SERVICE. Yes there is Wi-Fi but none of us could actually make or take a call. Suggest property management install a landline for emergencies.
It was good, the views from the house were perfect, we had a wonderful time.
Beautiful home with amazing views from deck Look forward to returning with my family Close access to mountain trails as well as great food in town!
Good place for family. We were sad to be notified AFTER we booked that the main park to hike with kids was going to be closed during our stay; we felt that info should have been included in the property details for that timeframe. Otherwise property was pretty much as described.
This was an absolutely lovely stay. The house was clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. The only caveat is there is a narrow spiral staircase to access the second floor where the kitchen and living room are. If there are people in your party that have difficulty accessing stairs, it might be a little difficult. This won’t be an issue for the majority of people. We loved our stay here and can’t wait to return!
Property was just as described. Within walking distance of several hiking trails. Very clean. Beautiful view from the spacious balcony. Minor issues were that a lot of the windows either don’t open or were very difficult to open/close and the spiral staircase was the only way to get to the main living space or outdoor balcony making it impossible for our dog to be on the same level as us. Overall, it was a great house that was very peaceful and relaxing
Homey and comfortable. The deck was awesome and my pup loved it as much as we did. Outdoor chairs and bbq were very nice! Views are awesome and house had everything we needed. Bring some cooking oil. There were a few spices that came in handy though. The fridge had an ice maker which was a plus! Beds were comfortable and couches also. AC didn’t seem to work but it was cool enough with the ceiling fan on and windows open. Would stay again!
All was great
Nice rustic feel of the cabin ,beautiful view and location, but wouldn't recommend it for elderly folks or small children spiral staircase can be a bit challenging going up and down
loved the stay! Nice and cozy, the master bath was nicely renovated but be mindful of no door to the master bath.
The house is very pretty and clean. Very conveniently located to both the town of Idlewild and also to fantastic hiking. Just what we were looking for.
This cabin had a cozy atmosphere and was very unique. It met our needs as a family of 5. We even had some sun while staying there.
The cabin was great, and my party was excited to stay there. On my way up the mountain I got a call that one refrigerator was not working but the downstairs one was functional. We got there, stored all of our food in the downstairs fridge, only to find out next day that it was also not working. All of our meat for our bbq had gone bad. We called the maintenance line multiple times, left a message, emailed the host, and got no response until check out time. We had to go into town and buy coolers and ice to keep our food that hadn’t gone bad yet cold. It was a disaster and damper on our weekend.
Thank you for hosting us. We loved our stay at this beautiful cabin. The best part was the proximity to a few wonderful hiking trails that were in a walking distance from the cabin. Thanks again. We’ll be back again.
I had to move out after one day due to the inhabitable living condition. The property was heavily infested with rodents. We discovered rodent droppings on several locations upon check in, i.e. the bathroom cabinet, the desk corner and the worst, the kitchen countertop !!! The rodent activities were so severe we even heard the noise from the bedroom roof during the day! Furthermore, the refrigerator, one of the ceiling fans, and the microwave were not working. Some of the window handles were broken and cannot be opened. Despite of several service requests, the maintenance team did not even bother to come out. Vacasa was completely ignoring to our needs and kept us on hold for HOURS. None of the agents knew what they were doing and we were only told to wait for a call back. After a SIX HOURS wasting of our vacation time, Vacasa outrageously REJECTED our relocation request. We had to move out and Vacasa denied any refund or compensation. STAY AWAY if you don't want your vacation be ruined.
Tucked away in the trees this is a beautiful house that is perfect for a long weekend stay. Suitable for 1 or 2 families with kids. Adults can play cards upstairs while the kids play downstairs. Across the road is a great hike and the town of Idyllwild is a short drive away.
