Getting Around:

Getting around Gatlinburg offers beautiful views but involves navigating mountainous roads. While the roads are scenic, they can be narrow and steep in some areas, especially in winter or rainy weather, so driving cautiously is important. Most attractions like downtown Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are just a short drive away. If you're visiting in colder months, it's advisable to have a vehicle with four-wheel drive or snow chains. Despite the mountain roads, the drive is well worth it for the breathtaking surroundings and nearby adventures.

Other Things to Note:

✔️Check-in Form: Prior to arrival, guests will be required to complete a check-in form through our Guest App. No download is required.

Other Things to Note – Wildlife & Mountain Safety

Our cabin is nestled right by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, offering incredible natural beauty and the chance to see local wildlife. That said, we kindly ask guests to be mindful of their surroundings and respect the wildlife and terrain in the area.

Bears are active in the area – While sightings can be exciting, never approach or feed them. Secure all food and trash to avoid attracting them.

Keep trash inside until disposal – Please use the designated outdoor bear-proof trash bins and ensure they are fully latched.

Do not leave food or coolers outside – Even an empty cooler can attract wildlife. Always bring items indoors when not in use.

Lock car doors – Bears have been known to open unlocked vehicle doors in search of food.

Other wildlife – You may also see deer, raccoons, turkeys, and other native animals. Enjoy them from a safe distance.

Mountain Roads & Winter Travel

Our cabin is located in the mountains, so expect steep and winding roads leading up to the property.

In winter months, roads may become icy or snowy—4WD/AWD is strongly recommended, and we encourage guests to check weather conditions before arrival.

Drive with caution, especially at night, as mountain roads can be narrow and visibility may be limited.

Cell service can be spotty in certain areas, so downloading maps in advance can be helpful.

The snow capped mountains and the view were beautiful, calm, mystical, romantic and exciting! For the first time we saw snow and we experienced adventures that made us tremble with excitement. The cozy, log cabin provided a majestic view that was greatly enjoyed by my husband, my kids and myself. Pigeon Forge was a hit with the kids who enjoyed go-cart racing and video arcades, but our favorite was Gatlinburg, which had beautiful holiday decorations, restaurants and entertainment, including roller coaster rides and an aquarium. We had a lot of fun! We would love to go back again..! Thanks Hannah and Sophie for letting us stay in that wonderful cabin.

Beautifully decorated home. Comfortable beds. Gorgeous views of the Smokies from both deck and balcony. Hosts were promptly responsive to questions. We did see 3 black bears in the neighborhood, walking down the street or walking up driveways. We had our fur baby with us, so that was a little concerning! The driveway is quite steep and the road up and down the mountain is steep and curvy. Plan at least 15 minutes to get up and down the mountain from this cabin. Personally, we limited our driving at night as street lights are limited. We did enjoy the stunning scenery and the peaceful surroundings of Ober Mountain.

Loved our stay. Place is cute and decorated in a non-cookie cutter Gatlinburg cabin way. View on top floor was amazing and enjoyed the morning sunrise.

Our stay at the A-Frame met every expectation and more! It was very close to town, but also far enough out that we were away from the crowds. The property was very clean. Sometimes in nature you get bugs, but not here! We brought our senior dog along, and she loved being able to be outside on the wrap around porch while we enjoyed the hot tub. And yes, we even saw bears (three times total) while staying over the weekend on our drives up and down the mountain near the cabin! As soon as we checked out we started talking about booking again next year and making this an annual trip! The cabin was very comfy and had all the amenities to make relaxing easy. Definitely recommend.

Host forgot to provide check-in instructions until I asked hours before we arrived. The house needs a deep cleaning. Cobwebs very noticeable in upstairs living area and bedroom. Old pet hair in rugs. Not sure anyone vacuumed before we arrived. They have a carpenter ant problem. Dozens and dozens of ants were killed over the course of our 5 day stay. Oh and yellow-jacket wasps and hornets were inside the house! We killed about 10. Pest control came out but didn't do much. Ants were still a problem. Couldn't wait to leave.

Loved the cabin. We had 4 adults and one small dog and had plenty of room. Up in the mountains but really a short distance from everything. A few of the roads were a little scary but not bad for a mountain cabin. We did see bears everyday but I think that was mainly because one of the other cabins in the area didn’t secure their garage well and the bears got into it and kept coming back. But we did enjoy seeing the bears and cub, it was just a little scary and we made sure we kept our eyes out. They didn’t seem to pay us any mind. Overall a great stay in a great cabin.

Cabin was very nice, well decorated, clean and conveniently located near the Smokey Mountains Park and downtown Gatlinburg. Our favorite spot was sitting out on the deck where we had 3 bear sightings! It felt very secluded and peaceful surrounded by all of the trees and the owner/management was very responsive to any questions we had.
