Getting Around:
Casa Magda is just 2.5 hours from New York City, and while having a car for transportation in the area is recommended, you can also take the Adirondack Trailways Charter bus. The bus departs from Port Authority Bus Termina and conveniently drops you off at Valero gas station, a 5-minute drive from the house.
In the winter, we recommend a car with four-wheel drive that can handle the snow and gravel roads.
Other Things to Note:
Septic system: This is a mountain home with a sensitive septic system. Please use toilet paper conservatively. Septic issues caused by overuse may result in repair costs up to $3,500 — we mention this upfront so it's never a surprise.
Children: The home is not childproofed and we don't provide cribs, highchairs, or changing tables. We recommend guests be 12 and older. If you're bringing younger children, please let us know at booking.
Entertainment system: Please don't connect gaming consoles, external devices, or rearrange the AV setup — it disrupts the experience for future guests. Amazon Firestick is available on the projector; bring your own Netflix and HBO logins.
Loft beds: The loft has wall-to-wall daybeds that can be configured as up to 4 single beds. Just let us know before your stay if you'd like them made up.
Basement:The laundry room is available for guest use. The rest of the basement is off limits.
Getting here: A car is recommended — and 4WD in winter. The Adirondack Trailways bus from Port Authority drops off at Valero gas station, a 5-minute drive from the house.
