PARKING
You’ll find plenty of space to park in the circle drive, which accommodates 3–4 vehicles or a trailer carrying your mountain gear.

Winter Parking:
During the winter months, do not park on the steep driveway that leads directly up to the cabin. It becomes unsafe when snow or ice is present. Instead, please use the parking area below the cabin. This area is plowed throughout the season and has heated snow-melt mats on the stairs leading up to the cabin to keep them clear.

Road Conditions:
The last mile to the cabin is on dirt roads. Cars and sedans can access the property easily during warmer months. In winter, however, all-wheel or 4-wheel drive is required (and snow chains may be needed in severe conditions). Winter weather in New Mexico can be unpredictable, so please plan accordingly. Please also note that all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicles are recommended in the spring (April to early May) when roads can become muddy due to the snow melting.

OTHER SPACES & FEATURES

• Front Deck – 4 Adirondack rocking chairs
• Side Deck – Picnic dining table
• Fire Pit (must follow local fire restrictions when in place)
• Charcoal BBQ Grill

WHAT WE PROVIDE
We supply toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dish soap, dishwasher pods (starter set), hand soap, K-Cups (starter set), coffee filters, linens and bath towels, and kitchen cookware.

PEACE OF MIND
Carson Cabin is also equipped with a whole home generator for added peace of mind, especially during winter months.

Guests will have private access to the entire home.

Hosts are available 24 hours a day to answer questions and assist but will not bother you during your stay.

Every detail was taken care of at this cabin. We stayed for 2 nights and the kitchen was stocked, wood set by the fire and the cabin was clean.

We had an issue when we first arrived at Carson Cabin but Chris was prompt and generous at making sure we had what we needed. Such a gracious host. This Red River stay was our best so far. A clean efficient cabin with no excessive clutter. The deck was our favorite but the fireplace and fire pit were close behind. We spent most of the week just enjoying the view.

This cabin backs up to the mountain. So you can walk out of the back door and exploration is endless. It was a comfy cabin with plenty of firewood to have a cozy family night by the fire. The hosts were responsive and very helpful. Neighbors were great and far away. Some cabins we have stayed in stay really cold during winter. This cabin had individual heaters in every room. So it stayed comfortable 24/7. Thank you again Carson cabin. Until next time

Had a wonderful stay at Carson Cabin. The house was clean and updated. Tucked away in the trees with very little traffic. Make sure to spend time relaxing on the deck and hear the wind through the trees!

Red River is so special to my family! My grandmother had a cabin in the Upper Valley when I was a child and I spent many summers there. When I met my husband, I was shocked and elated to find out he also did as a child. Now our children love it as much as we do. Our ultimate goal is to have our own property there to open up to visitors that also love Red River. The Carson Cabin is so cozy and we utilized it to the max. We had a fire and had smores one night, cooked several meals and there was plenty of room for us. The beds were so comfy! I wish I knew what mattresses they were and we had plenty of hot water. The only suggestion I might have is an extra fan for upstairs. Overall we would stay here again and will recommend it to others that like the seclusion and quietness the Upper Valley has to offer!
