Boone, North Carolina
The Carpathian Cabin will become your favorite relaxation place in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The long range views of the Parkway can be enjoyed from the large deck, as well as from the kitchen, living room and main bedroom.
You will feel like home due to the cozy atmosphere and the fully equipped kitchen and be energized by the abundance of natural light in the living and dining room.
The cabin is in a beautiful mountain setting, away from busy streets and other vacation rentals. The few neighbors are very friendly. This is a perfect place for couples or families with children to take in the outdoors. Come swing on the tree tire swing, relax in the side yard or on the deck, watch birds or go on a hike nearby. Come fall or winter, spring or summer. Each season has its beauty up here and you might just pick a different favorite while here.
If you want to explore the area, Blue Ridge Parkway is about a mile away and Blowing Rock and Boone are about a 10 min drive. They offer restaurants, parks, playgrounds and shopping, to list a few points of interest.
Tweetsie Railroad and Mystery Hill are big attractions for children and less than 10 min drive from the cabin.
Appalachian Ski Mountain is about 15 min away and Tubing/Canoeing on New River is a 30 min drive.
Hiking can be done in the area Parks, off of Blue Ridge Pkway, as well as around the cabin.
Grandfather Mountain is about a 30 min drive.
Great little cabin in the mountains. I gave a 5 star rating for accuracy of listing, but only because I feel like the owner has understated how great this place is. My kids loved the kids room and board games. The elevation on the mountain was high enough that it snowed the whole weekend even though there was only a slight chance in town. The views were beautiful and bird watching on the porch was nice. They provide bird food. Definitely read the specific instructions to find the cabin. In the dark it was hard to see the first rd to the right by the fence. gps takes you up the hill to a different one. Make sure you have an AWD vehicle for winter months. Temps dropped fast and it can get slippery Be careful if you are going down stair to the basement at all. They are carpeted stairs and a few steps need to be tacked down. My husband slipped a few times but caught himself before falling. I was not as lucky and fell on my butt when going down to do laundry. Overall this was a quaint little cabin. The kitchen was great for cooking and had everything you would need make awesome meals in. The local attractions were very close by. All under 30 mins. We will definitely be back and stay here again
Great place to stay for a quick weekend trip to Boone!
Lovely simple cabin, well equipped kitchen, VERY clean, quiet, only minutes from downtown Boone or downtown Blowing Rock.
Awesome views, great access to both Boone and blowing rock. Great place. Will def be back
We had a wonderful stay. Patricia and I had great conversations and she was very accommodating to our needs. The home is in a great location, close to Boone and Blowing Rock. We would definitely stay again.
Patricia - owner- gave us extra assistance to be sure our needs were met. Property very clean and comfy. Everything you will need. Kitchen loaded with helpful items. Peaceful location - in the woods. Sat on deck for hours just to take in the clean cool air.
Everything was perfect. Clean, easy to get to, convenient. Exactly what we needed for a long weekend.
Beautiful area and neighborhood.
This home was very cozy and the kitchen was well equipped. Very clean and conveniently located close to BRP. The view was nice and the deck had comfortable chairs to sit. The owners left birdseed for us to fill bird feeders and we absolutely loved seeing all the birds that came. I would definitely recommend this property.
Accurate listing that gave us exactly what we needed for our family's weekend trip to the mountains. Excellent communication and directions from host.
Quite cabin in secluded area. Would recommend to others! Hopefully can plan another trip in the near future
Great experience. Can’t wait to stay again. Close to everything. Great communication with landlords. VERY CLEAN! Booking again. Thank you for allowing us to stay!
Nice cabin in a good location. Worked great for a holiday weekend away.
Snug and cozy stay for our family of 4. This cabin is well designed and we love all the big windows - great for looking at the fresh snowfall this morning. Tire swing was a hit with our kids!
Nice cabin with a view. 10 to 15 minutes from Blowing Rock and Boone. Plenty of room for the wife and I. We had a great time. Parking is limited. My wife was concerned about the one lane driveway leading to the cabin which was close to a steep drop off. But, that's part of being in the mountains. Hope to come back again.
We had a wonderful time with our little girl for her first mountain trip. This cabin was perfect for the three of us and was very clean and cozy. It is in a great location and easy to find.
Very comfortable and in a great area, close to Blowing Rock and Boone so you can easily to get to both. Also, very close to the parkway.
Clean older house, very short drive to all the attractions, and great price! My only suggestion would be better lighting for the parking spot, it was very hard to navigate at night and almost scary walking in with small kids and wildlife abundant to the area.
Really enjoyed our stay at this quiet cabin, clean and well stocked
Was very easy to rent
Communication was excellent, location was great for our 3 day trip to Tweetsie, Docs Gem Mine, Mast General Store, and Grandfather Mountain. The cabin was quaint and cozy with a pretty deck and view which we really enjoyed in the evenings. We brought our small air purifier to help with humidity and allergies which worked great. Well stocked with amenities, kitchen supplies, ect. We didn't use the downstairs but it was nice and cool. AC was a plus in July. The kids loved the bunk beds and tree swing. Overall, it was a great stay.
My family and I had a great stay here. It was clean, there was a great view and balcony, and was even able to check in early on our arrival day. The only thing I’d mention is it was a little difficult getting to the actual cabin but thats just bc it’s on a mountain :) it was a great cabin and had great communication with the owners. Thank you to the Mate family!
This place was sparkling clean and very comfortable. I particularly liked the new windows and screens. The lovely flower garden and stone wall in the front were a nifty surprise. We enjoyed feeding the birds.
The experience was nice, the cottage is hidden from the dirt track, had a hard time locating it in dark. It will be great if owners remove a portion of shrubbery in front so that cottage is visible . The solar lights in parking area is a good idea, however a solar light focused on cottage would help locating easily. Inside the cottage is homely and inviting with breathtaking views of Nature from the outside patio. Recommended for a quiet getaway to hills.
Very clean. Perfect location to get to tweetsie railroad and our other activities we had planned.
This home was perfect for my family. My granddaughter were enthralled by the bunk beds, and the 5 yr old declared the top bunk, her 3 yr old sister the bottom, and for me, the other twin. The wether was rough, but views amazing, ad they saw a hail storm for the first time. We had a wonderful post graduation dinner, and there was plenty of room for everyone. Parking is a bit tough, but we figured it out: I would love to go there again.
