We had a great time at the cabin. Awesome location on the Au Train River. Our boys enjoyed fishing right on the property. Good location to visit waterfalls from Marquette to Pictured Rocks. Brownstone Inn is right done the street and has awesome food. We’ll be back!

The cabin was peaceful with a view of the river and just a few blocks from Lake Superior. We enjoyed walking to the ice cream shop near Lake Superior and walking around the neighborhood, as well as paddle boating and grilling at the cabin. The cabin was close to plenty of waterfalls, boat tours, hikes, and other activities so we could easily stop back between activities. The only part I didn't love was the floor didn't seem very insulated (it wasn't cold but sounded loud for walking and my kids are stompy in general). However, the sliding door was right there with convenient chairs to step outside and grab some peace when it got loud. It was a chillier and wet few days but we stayed toasty warm inside

This is a great hub for the many hiking trails nearby. Fresh Pasties are within walking distance at the nearby corner store, and an ice cream / souvenir shop is only a little further down the road. We chose a place on a river to launch kayaks from just to explore and take the winding trip to Lake Superior. The river in front of the Cabin is a dead end leg off the main river so you likely will not see a lot of river traffic. The lily pads and weeds may keep you from swimming in front of the cabin, but the river outlet at Lake Superior is a popular swimming spot with nice sandy beach.

This home was perfectly situated on the Au Train River and walking distance to Lake Superior! We kayaked, rode bikes, and enjoyed campfires by the water. The house is so close to Pictured Rocks attractions and local hiking. You really can’t get any better! The house itself is clean and cozy. I can only imagine fall or winter how nice it would be. Beds were super comfortable and we were very pleased with everything. If I had a complaint it would be that we didn’t stay longer. We hope to come back one day. Do not hesitate to book this if you are thinking about it. It was an amazing stay!

We had an absolutely great time staying at the property. My parents stayed in the cabin. My sister and my family (3 adults, 4 kids) stayed in the larger lodge right next door. Location is on an off branch of the main river. 1 minute car ride, 5 minute bike ride, 30 minute canoe ride to beach. Beach is spectacular! Kids LOVED swimming in the lake and river. Property and interior were spotless. House has everything you need. Communication and check in was easy. Rental includes grill, bikes, and canoe. Kayaks were available to rent. Small grocery store, ice cream, and pasties in town 1/4 mile away. Munising 15 minute drive. Au Train falls 15 minute drive (highly recommend). Can’t say enough good things. We loved our stay!!

My family and I enjoyed staying at Reel Inn. The location is fantastic. We appreciate the canoe which we used to explore the river. Each evening after dinner we sat by the fire as the sun set.The modern cabin was clean with everything you’d need. Central air was appreciated! Clearly the owners put a lot of time into picking out the furnishings. The location was great — Au Train is one of the last small undeveloped beach towns in Michigan. The beach is beautiful — and huge.Lastly, it’s a short drive to Munising for your Pictured Rocks tour, groceries, etc. (Although I’d recommend stocking up at Meijer in Marquette first.)

This was one of the best rentals we have had! The home was beautiful and very clean. We also appreciated how the home had everything we needed for our stay including clean linens and towels and paper products. We loved canoeing on the river every day and the short walk to Lake Superior was great. The neighborhood is also so peaceful. We will definitely be back!

The cabin was very nice. I do have one concern. When I opened the shower, there was a dirty, very hard white wash cloth on the floor. I removed it and put it in the hamper. Overall, the cabin was very clean. Thank you!

This house was very clean with comfortable beds and a lovely view. I really appreciate all the thoughtful touches the owners supplied such as a well-stocked kitchen, paper towels, and hand soap. My family would definitely return someday. The listing says the house is 2 blocks from Lake Superior but unless we couldn't find a path to get us there, it's more of a drive or bike ride. That's not a deal breaker for us, but maybe should be updated in the listing. Also, come prepared with bottled water. I grew up with well water but found the water here undrinkable. It was completely fine for showers, laundry, and cooking. There isn't a safety issue, just a bad smell and taste. We had no problem buying water but would have preferred to arrive knowing that. This is a lovely home and you can tell the owners go above and beyond to make it comfortable. I've rented many VRBOs and this one shines as being extra special.

When you think of the UP, you think of a cozy wood cabin. Thats exactly what this was. Being right on water was an added bonus. There is a local restaurant, syore and gas station within 5 minutes that has whatever you need. It also sits close to munising and Marquette. Excellent place

Adorable cabin. Beautiful view. Well appointed-sans a dishwasher, but not really a big deal. Quiet neighborhood. Friendly neighbors. Close to the beach. Appreciated easy access to canoes and kayaks. Thanks to the hosts for being quick to respond when we had questions. Highly recommend this property.

Cabin and surrounding property was clean. We had an issue with fruit flies as soon as we walked in, but after a day we were able to get them under control with a homemade trap. Property had a wonderful view of the water and the location was quiet. It was nice having a canoe available free of charge. We did contact owners about the fruit flies and they responded quickly stating they were already aware of the problem Overall, it was a nice weekend and we would stay again.

The cabin was great and had everything we needed. It’s located in a very quiet neighborhood, and backs up to the Au Train river. We enjoyed using the canoe there. As shown in one of the hosts’ photos, note that the cabin is extremely close to another lodge cabin. As long as neighbors are respectful, it works out ok and you do have a semi private back yard space. Short drive to Munising and all the great spots in the Pictured Rocks area. The hosts were helpful in resolving a couple of issues we had with the WiFi and the neighbors.
