Hendersonville, North Carolina
Property Location: The cabin is out in the country between historic Hendersonville and the Bat Cave/Chimney Rock/Lake Lure area, SouthEast of Asheville amidst the many hiking areas of Hickory Nut Gorge. The 20-acre property is located at the foot of Bearwallow Mountain. The property is partially wooded with a private hiking trail through the woods, a pond, and a picnic shed next to the pond with a fire pit. Fishing is available both in our pond and at Clear Creek – state trout waters that adjoin our property.
Weather in Summer: Our summer weather pattern has kicked in! Warm days (70's and 80's), then just when it gets a little too warm and humid, wham! Thunder, lightning, downpour! Usually just minutes long. Temperature drops several degrees, perfect for an evening hot tub soak. Night temperatures in the 60's. Come enjoy the mountains in summertime.
Cabin Location: The Cabin on the Hill at Clear Creek Cabins is one of four cabins, situated and landscaped for privacy, scattered about our 20 acre property. The Cabin on the Hill has our best view (see photos). It is just inside the edge of the wooded portion of our 20 acre property. This allows for both a view from the covered porch and privacy afforded by the trees. There are woods behind the Cabin on the Hill for miles (not all ours!).
Cabin Features: The covered porch features rocking chairs, a hot tub, and an outdoor dining table. The cabin has a gas log fireplace, air conditioning, smart TV with DVD player, wifi, microwave, toaster, blender and coffee-maker. Linens, dishes, and kitchen utensils are provided. The cabin has an outside electric BBQ grill. The cabin is well prepared for the rare power outage, with a gas log fireplace for heat and a gas stove for cooking. There is a fire pit near the pond.
Area Activities: While many guests simply relax on the property for their entire stay, there is much to do in the area – hiking Chimney Rock Park, a boat tour of Lake Lure, a visit to Historic Hendersonville, dining at the many great area restaurants just a short drive away, visiting the many surrounding state and national parks and forests (Dupont, Pisgah, the Blue Ridge Parkway), and of course visiting the famous Biltmore Estate. Horseback riding is available in the area, as are visits to numerous wineries, and breweries, plus a cidery and meadery, many of which have live music and food trucks. Hiking locations are abundant. Spring and fall driving tours of our apple growing country side are available with many fruit stands to select from.
Seasons: The property is beautiful in all seasons: spring flowering trees, summer foliage, fall colors, and in the winter the possibly of snow. Winter, when the leaves are off the trees, can be especially interesting due to the additional views that appear through the bare trees.

This cabin is absolutely perfect. It’s private yet the town is close to a lot of different activities. I could had easy never left the cabin the whole weekend. Definitely recommend for a relaxing get away!
Enjoyed our stay at Cabin in the woods. Great place to relax and enjoy peace and quiet
This was our second year at Ms. Kaye’s Cabin in the Woods. If you are looking for a cozy secluded cabin in the woods this is your place. The hot tub was great & the cabin is super clean. We will definitely be staying again next year.
Very secluded, private and peaceful. Easy to find. Our host was very attentive. There is a washer/dryer, terrific hot tub, and fishing pond a short 2 minute drive from the cabin, but no dishwasher. Easy drive to Chimney Rock and 15 minute drive into town. Will definitely be back.
Everything was as advertised. Cabin was clean and secluded. Would definitely stay again.
The driveway is a little messy and definitely helped having a suv.
Our home is always very noisy and we wanted a quiet weekend away. This was exactly that! It was clean and well-appointed. A beautiful property surrounded by woods. We heard an occasional plane overhead or car on the distant road but, we primarily listened to the wind in the trees and the birdsong. The cabin was clean. The grill and kitchen appropriately appointed. AC and Hot tub easy to use. We hiked a bit on the property and visited the beautiful pond. Exactly as described. Easy communication with the host. Highly recommend this location if you want a quiet time away. Very close to Hendersonville and Asheville (closer than it seemed on the map) if you want to go into town.
It was worth the trip i really enjoyed my stay can't wait to go back
This little cabin, the whole property in general,is wonderful. The cabin is exceptionally clean, very private, and fully stocked with most of those little things you wish you had sometimes like coffee and filters, cooking oil,bug spray, and even bath robes and slippers. Cell phone service is limited so it provides a great opportunity to check out of reality for a day or two. The pond is excellent for relaxing in nature and the hammock is an added bonus. Its about a 10-15 drive to town, but nothing too inconvenient at all. This was our second time going to the property and I already can't wait to go back again.
Anniversary celebration , me and my wife we enjoyed our trip very much , care takers of the property were excellent overall great trip I highly recommend this place for a vacation trip clean very nice. The staff are very helpful. Really enjoyed the trip. The Cravens,
Great location, good amenities, clean property and relaxing place for a romantic getaway. Easy to locate as well.
Full equipped little cabin with everything you might need. Nice, cozy and clean! Hot tub is a nice treat after a hike or to enjoy the sunrise. Robes and towels are provided. Would recommend this cabin to anyone!
Sitting in a hot tub, on a wooden porch or a really cozy cabin, in the mountains of the North Carolina countryside is just blissful being and glorious living. I loved even our city days coming back to this sweet cabin. During our stay we traveled in every direction for our trip. I would be as bold to say the Cabin in the Woods was perfectly located in every way. A must expirence and highly recommended for the city lights to chill country nights, kind of get away for you
My husband & I stayed at The Cabin in the Woods on our yearly visit to Hendersonville. This cabin is perfectly located 15 minutes from both Hendersonville (downtown) & Chimney Rock. The property is just as described a charming little cabin in the woods. Very private with a big porch for morning coffee & a hot tub to relax in after a long day of hiking or seeing the sights. The cabin has everything you need right down to robes & slippers for the hot tub. Kaye was very friendly, and communication was fantastic. The only complaint we had was the Wifi (for streaming tv) was a little slow, but certainly not a major issue. We will defiantly come back to Ms. Kaye's Cabin in the Woods.
If you are looking for relaxation this is your place very quiet and secluded and clean and equipped with all your needs, we would stay again if in the area
Second trip to the cabin in the woods. So relaxing. Can’t wait to go back!
Property was not too difficult to locate, gravel driveway would’ve been challenging for a sports car or low vehicle. Owner was very helpful in warning to bring a car with higher clearance. Cabin was clean, cozy and had everything we needed. My wife and I had a wonderful and relaxing visit. Would definitely come back.
Highly recommend this place for a couple just wanting to get away.
This cabin is a perfect for a romantic getaway in the woods. It is just as described, small, adorable, and secluded. We had everything we needed at the cabin and communication with the host was great. Cabin is close to Asheville, Chimney Rock State Park, and lots of great things to see and do.
This cabin was perfect. All property details are accurate and Kaye made sure we were all set with check in, directions to cabin, and other property details well in advance of check in time. Could not have asked for a better experience with the cabin, as well as with the host. Will definitely be back.
Little slice of heaven perfect for a romantic getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed the property and would highly recommend!
We had a great time visiting this property. The cabin was very clean and organized. The cabin was within 20 minutes of Hendersonville, Chimney Rock, and the outskirts of Asheville. This property is very quiet and peaceful. There is a pretty little pond to fish in on the property. The cell service wasn't the greatest but the wifi is pretty good, and the cabin has a smart tv to login to all your favorite streaming services. We enjoyed our stay for an anniversary getaway.
The cabin was perfect, exactly as it was described. We enjoyed our stay and hope to come back again!
Exactly as advertised beautiful cabin in the Woods. If you're looking for a nice quiet relaxing vacation with a nice hot tub this is the place. Only recommendation I would say is to bring some DVD's or be prepared to rent from the redbox, they don't have very much cable selection up there and the Internet is is not the best. Loved every minute of It and plan to come back on another vacation
