We booked this cabin for our family of 4 (myself, my husband and our two young children) for a relaxing Christmas getaway. We got there Christmas Eve night and instantly noticed a mess in the kitchen. There were fake fingernails and old chunks of cheese in the sink, dead bugs everywhere (including on the furniture and counters), the outlet where the TV and DVD player connected to didn't work, and it was just so uncomfortably dusty and dirty. We had to force ourselves to spend one night then left in the morning (on Christmas) in tears over how much of a waste this all was. Only to get a third of our money back. This was a Christmas present to our kids. So disappointed.
Our stay at the cabin was very comfortable. Couple things to note remember to bring your own disposable goods (Toilet Paper, Paper Towel, Trash Bags, etc) as well as all the food you will need. There were some very bare kitchen essentials (salt, pepper, some seasonings). Kitchen was stocked with plates, pots, pans, and some cooking utensils. If you plan to grill bring charcoal. Our one complaint is that the kitchen is extremely dark, the lights underneath the microwave did not work during our stay which made cooking on the stove difficult. We also noticed that the electrical outlets on the wall which the TV is mounted were not operating. The cabin is a rustic Up North Michigan cabin and has a lot of that charm so if that's what you are looking for as a home base for your adventures it's an absolutely perfect cabin and location. Read through the listing and all it's details and you will be perfectly prepared for your stay.
We stayed at this place for our dirtbiking trip. Very private, plenty of space, and the garage held three bikes and a trailer comfortably. Check in was easy with the number pad on the door. 15 minutes away from grocery stores and about 5 from nearest gas station/convenience store. Had good cell reception. Finding the driveway at night might be tough since there is no green reflective sign, but the address is on the tree. Pack your own toiletries/ disposables. Owner Mike responded promptly. We will be looking for this specific place when we visit again.
Beautiful location and place!! We just wanted to get away from it all and relax. It was perfect for us.
Very nice and place to stay. Had a great experience would highly recommend it to everyone.
Rustic hunting cabin off dirt, seasonal road with two track dirt/grass driveway. I liked being on 10 acres and that my dog was allowed there. It had most everything you need but needs serious updating, including new towels and sheets and lightbulbs in every room.. I brought my own pillows and sheets from reading others’ comments. It was fine if you just want a rustic place for hunting or snowmobiling. Steep wooden staircase up to the two bedrooms upstairs was kind of hazardous in the night to go down to use the bathroom. Neighbors were target shooting less than 100 yards away. There is a public easement behind and along the side of the property so I didn’t take my dog out too far away from the cabin.
Great outdoor area (fire pit, lots of chairs, patio, basketball net/concrete pad, grassy volleyball court) and quaint cabin. Owner was easy to get a hold of and responded promptly to questions. As previous reviewers have said, definitely needs more lighting in the kitchen.
Know what you are booking. This place is a cabin and nothing more, poor lighting, 1 bath, toilet clogs after first use. Beds not made, noodles in the sink. Cop showed up upon arrival looking for the cleaning lady. You need to bring your own everything! Including toilet paper mad trash bags, dish soap, bathroom soap. Went to use the grill (which they had two) but no propane. So we had to go purchase a tank. Don't advertise you have grills but no propane. No cable, just old movies and not a lot. This is very far from town so be aware of that. The a/c in one room wasn't cold. All of the cookware was greasy and seemed dirty. From the vacation rentals I have rented this is by far the worst one and they should put a little more effort into making it a better experience. Just be aware what you are renting is a rusted buddies car, not a Cadillac from a car rental. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I paid a cleaning fee and I expect the place to be clean when I arrive.
Loved the cabin and location will definitely stay here again
