Carp Lake, Michigan
This Vintage Rustic cabin, primarily designed for the camping & fishing enthusiast, is just one cabin of a 7 cabin resort. This cabin was built in the early 1950's and holds every bit of that vintage character. It may be a little rough around the edges but this authentic cabin holds the wonderful allure of days gone by. Electrical outlets would have been added a few years later and air conditioning wasn’t even thought of at that time. Those details won't matter to the outdoorsy kind coming for the camping experience where lake activity fills your day and evenings are enjoyed around the campfire. This charming cabin has a knotty pine interior and all the basics to create an Up North camping style atmosphere. A lifestyle one will appreciate becoming acquainted with.
All the cabins are lined up next to each other along the shore of a beautifully serene lake. This close proximity to other cabins have traditionally created a friendly community style atmosphere where guests mingle and create lasting friendships. This is the kind of place where your grandparents brought your parents, your parent’s brought you, and you are now bringing your children to create beautiful memories while spending a nostalgic vacation in a familiar old cabin.
This cabin is 528 sq ft and sleeps a family of 6 utilizing 2 bedrooms, each with a queen size bed and a futon in the living room. There's a kitchen with everything to cover your basic needs, a dinning space and a simple bathroom that includes a warm shower. The spacious 10’x6’ enclosed porch overlooking the lake is the perfect area for spending a relaxing afternoon.
Whether you are looking for a home base to camp at the lake or a base camp while you explore the area’s attractions, you will enjoy this cozy cabin and all its imperfections. More than anything, you’re gonna love the authentic charm and the carefree lifestyle that comes with camping Up North.

Love the low key rustic cabins. Communication was top notch. We were greeted by our host and shown our cabin. The view is spectacular!!! The cabin was cozy and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
We came up for an ice fishing trip, and this rustic little cabin was more than we needed. It was perfect in every way. The gas woodstove kept the entire cabin warm and the lake is quite literally 6 feet out the back door. 10 minutes from the Mackinaw Bridge. Perfect, just a perfect little place. The owner was kind enough to greet us the day we arrived and even came out to chat as we were packing up 4 days later. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Great view
Most cleanest place I have stayed. Cute little lay out of the cabin and loved the lake view! Definitely going back
Great place overall, but the heat quit in the middle of the night. The floor was very sandy.
Everything we wanted was close by. We had a great trip
This cabin was exactly as expected. It was rustic with a beautiful lake view and a wonderful screen room to enjoy the scenery! Richie, the owner, was very attentive with a couple issues we had and all in all if was a wonderful retreat!
Quiet, peaceful and relaxing place on Paradise lake.
We loved our stay in this cabin that had everything we needed. Rich is really genuine and friendly and helpful and makes you feel right at home. Our cabin was right on the water and we enjoyed grilling s'mores and hot dogs. Our kids loved wading in the shallow water on the jetty at our cabin. I highly recommend this place.
The cabin was just as described. It was a perfect spot to let the dog swim and relax by the fire at night. It was in close proximity to mackinaw island which was great.
Great little spot. Rustic but clean and the lake is great. Close to Mackinaw. Richie the owner was great to deal with.
Stayed 2 nights and 3 days. Had a great time, location is good and lake is great for boating, swimming and fishing.
Enjoyed the lake and fire pit, even though we picked a time when the weather chose to be rainy and cool. The cabin was comfy and Richie very friendly and helpful.
The owner is awesome! The property is in the process of being fixed up. Beautiful views and definite charm. If you like rustic glamping this is the place for you. Pet friendly too!!!!!
I love the simplicity of these cabins as a place to clean up, cook, and relax after a long day of fishing. Perfect setting. Thanks Ritchie!
Owner was friendly, cabin was clean, beautiful view of carp lake right from bed. Will be staying here again in the future without a doubt!
Can't wait to come back!
Pros: The cabin is charming. The property manager was very nice and on top of any requests. The lake view is phenomenal and the location is desirable. It's about 6 miles from Mackinac City. The cons: The grounds are cluttered and less than desirable to look at. There is minimal to no money being put into the cabins. We had a piece of cloth nailed around the faucet to keep it up, paper towel lining the old repainted windows. Our bed had a huge dip in the middle and the bedding was stained on both beds. I still have it four stars, we would stay again if a much cheaper rate was available. Summer would be better because you get the use of the lake.
The bedding was exceptionally clean. The cottage is old but on a beautiful lake. The coffee cups really need to be replaced with new.
Took my daughter and Grandson for a few days Up North. Grandson made friends with other kids his age and had so much fun swimming, collecting shells, and fishing off the dock (which was right in front of our cabin). The cabin was perfect for us! My daughter and I each had our own room and my Grandson slept on the futon. The cabin was close to everywhere we wanted go. It was just about 10 minutes from the Bridge. The manager, Ritchie, was there to greet us when we arrived, and was friendly and helpful all through our stay. Will definitely stay here again!
Quiet and peaceful. Enjoyed the lake and the cabin was cozy.
