Cabin #4 - Hackmatack
Named after a type of pine tree found in the Northeastern United States and Canada, this cabin is similarly named to its sister cabin. With 2 bedrooms and 449 sq ft, it's a wonderfully snug size for a small group of friends.

This Vintage Rustic cabin, primarily designed for the camping & fishing enthusiast, is just one cabin of a 7 cabin resort. This cabin was built in the early 1930's and holds every bit of that vintage character. It may be a little rougharound the edges but this authentic cabin holds the wonderful allure of days gone by. Electrical outlets would have been added a few years later and those are few and far between. Those details won't matter to the outdoorsy kind coming for the camping experience where lake activity fills your day and evenings are enjoyed around the campfire. This charming cabin has a knotty pine interior and all the basics to create an Up North camping style atmosphere. A lifestyle one will appreciate becoming acquainted with.

All the cabins are lined up next to each other along the shore of a beautifully serene lake. This close proximity to other cabins have traditionally created a friendly community style atmosphere where guests mingle and create lasting friendships. This is the kind of place where your grandparents brought your parents, your parent’s brought you, and you are now bringing your children to create beautiful memories while spending a nostalgic vacation in a familiar old cabin.

The listed rate reflects the price for 4 adults or a family with children up to 6 people total. Additional adults beyond 4 will incur additional charges. This cabin has a sleeping capacity up to 6 people utilizing 2 bedrooms, each with a queen size bed and a futon in the living room. There's a kitchen with everything to cover your basic needs, a dinning space and a simple bathroom that includes a warm shower. The spacious 11’x6’ enclosed porch overlooking the lake is the perfect spot for watching children at play in the water.

Whether you are looking for a home base to camp at the lake or a base camp while you explore the area’s attractions, you will enjoy this cozy cabin and all its imperfections. More than anything, you’re gonna love the authentic charm and the carefree lifestyle that comes with camping Up North.

Pets are welcome on the property for an additional fee of $25 per night / per pet, paid at time of arrival if not otherwise paid. This includes pets of your visitors to the property.

Free Parking is available for 1 vehicle per cabin. 1 boat/trailer per cabin is also free but are required to be parked in designated area elsewhere on the property. Extra vehicles require a $25 per day fee and must also be parked in a designated area elsewhere on the property. This includes vehicles of your visitors to the property. Extra Vehicle fees will be collected onsite at the time of arrival if not previously collected elsewhere. RV's are not permitted.

Right on beautiful Lake Paradise with dock and screened in porch. Very quaint and had everything we needed. Will return as soon as we can. Great food across the street at Clyde's Place and just down the street at Harbor Light's Grill. Both in walking distance. A little peace of paradise.

This was a wonderful property and my family and I enjoyed it very much! The owner is kind and welcoming and made us feel right at home. We really loved the view and the comfortable beds and furnishings. My sons really enjoyed being able to have a campfire outside our cabin, right on the lakeside! Although there needs to be some painting done, all in all, this was a wonderful place to stay and we are very happy to have stayed there. We'll definitely be back next year!

Lake was nice. Cabin was cozy but a bit too close to the other cabins. Cabin is close to the bridge and Mackinaw city.

Fantastic spot right on the lake. Quiet and beautiful view. Just exactly as characterized but better as far as comfort and thoughtful touches that made for a great cabin camping experience.

Yes. The cabin may have been small for the three of us, but for me it was cozy. Pet friendly for sure.

Host greeted us right as we arrived and got us settled in nicely. The cabins are rustic but well maintained and clean. Every cabin has a fantastic view of the lake with nice screened in porch. We only stayed one night but this would be great for a week.

Cabin is in a great location. Short drive to any of the amazing area attractions. The cabin was simple but updated. The host met us on our arrival and showed us in. He also checked I with us the next day to make sure we didn't need anything. The cabin sits right on the lake, with a gorgeous view morning or evening. We didn't spend too much time at the cabin other than to sleep as we were there to see Mackinac, St. Ignace and some of the beautiful fall colors, but we'd definitely stay again and plan for a longer trip where we can enjoy use of the lake and fish and maybe explore a little more. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance which was great for getting breakfast before heading out for the day and grabbing a drink after a long day of hiking and sightseeing.

The cabin was as advertised. It was rustic and had basic accommodations. We ventured to iconic Leggs Inn for dinner, a 20 minute drive, which we enjoyed very much. Bed was ok. Great value compared to nearby hotels in Mackinaw City & St. Ignace. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a no frills and clean place to sleep.

Nice cabin on the lake, great fire pit. everything worked like it should. Richie is a really nice guy and keeps the place tidy. I will go back for another stay. PS: Cross village is close, so dinner at leggs in is a must.

The host, Richie is a really nice guy, that wants you to enjoy your stay. Having said that he needs to do a little maintenance if he wants repeat customers. My first time there was in the fall of 2020. It's a very rust nostalgic place, but over the years it's becoming a big run down. This was my third time there and I will continue to return. At least one more time. A bit of a disclaimer though: in all fairness he was hit by a pretty bad Ice storm this past winter and is working really hard to get things in shape.

It was a sweet little cabin. It could use some restoration of exterior. The shower was dirty. We were unable to shower in the morning of our overnight stay.

Overall we enjoyed our stay and if going back to the area would stay again. The bathroom definitely needs to be updated. we also noticed that some of the roof shingles were missing.

Great little waterfront cabin! We stayed for a long weekend of playing on the water. Access to the inland waterway is only 20 minutes away. Mackinaw only 10 minutes, and a good boat launch right next door. Rustic cabin charm was awesome. Reminded me of Canadian fishing trips with my dad.

Rented (4) cottages for a family reunion. All worked out great! Campfires at night, smores, pontoon rides during the day. Close to many northern and U.P attractions, making day trips easy. Old to young alike just loved the place and atmosphere. Great sunrises, sunsets and star gazing at night. Highly recommend.
