Cabin #3 - Tamarack
Named after a type of pine tree found in the Northern United States and Canada, this one is similarly named to its sister cabin. With the largest enclosed porch, this 2 bedroom, 490 sq ft cabin becomes a great gathering place.

This Vintage Rustic cabin, primarily designed for the camping & fishing enthusiast, is just one cabin of a 7 cabin resort. This cabin was built in the early 1930's and holds every bit of that vintage character. It may be a little rougharound the edges but this authentic cabin holds the wonderful allure of days gone by. Electrical outlets would have been added a few years later and air conditioning wasn’t even thought of at that time. Those details won't matter to the outdoorsy kind coming for the camping experience where lake activity fills your day and evenings are enjoyed around the campfire. This charming cabin has a knotty pine interior and all the basics to create an Up North camping style atmosphere. A lifestyle one will appreciate becoming acquainted with.

All the cabins are lined up next to each other along the shore of a beautifully serene lake. This close proximity to other cabins have traditionally created a friendly community style atmosphere where guests mingle and create lasting friendships. This is the kind of place where your grandparents brought your parents, your parent’s brought you, and you are now bringing your children to create beautiful memories while spending a nostalgic vacation in a familiar old cabin.

The listed rate reflects the price for 4 adults or a family with children up to 6 people total. Additional adults beyond 4 will incur additional charges. This cabin has a sleeping capacity up to 6 people utilizing 2 bedrooms, each with a queen size bed and a futon in the living room. There's a kitchen with everything to cover your basic needs, a dinning space and a simple bathroom that includes a warm shower. The spacious 18’x7’ enclosed porch overlooking the lake is the perfect spot for an evening card game with friends.

Whether you are looking for a home base to camp at the lake or a base camp while you explore the area’s attractions, you will enjoy this cozy cabin and all its imperfections. More than anything, you’re gonna love the authentic charm and the carefree lifestyle that comes with camping Up North.

Pets are welcome on the property for an additional fee of $25 per night / per pet, paid at time of arrival if not otherwise paid. This includes pets of your visitors to the property.

Free Parking is available for 1 vehicle per cabin. 1 boat/trailer per cabin is also free but are required to be parked in designated area elsewhere on the property. Extra vehicles require a $25 per day fee and must also be parked in a designated area elsewhere on the property. This includes vehicles of your visitors to the property. Extra Vehicle fees will be collected onsite at the time of arrival if not previously collected elsewhere. RV's are not permitted.

Rich was so nice and helped us in away that he could. Over we would go there again. The location was perfect. Somethings need work but nothing to stop us from going back

Really good location by the lake; not far from Dark Sky park, Mackinaw City, and grocery store.Lovely to sit by the lake and enjoy the view.

The lake outside your cabin and screened in porch were highlights of our 2-night stay. The condition of the cabin and accommodations were a bit disappointing. Updated mattresses, regular coffee pot (not a Keurig with no mention of needing pods), improving kitchen cookware, a good cleaning and fresh paint would make this cute place much more enjoyable.

It was a great location - right on the water. The cabin was rustic. Shower and toilet were less than I hoped for. Lock on front door was hard to lock from inside. And, there was no secure lock on back door.

The only real complaint was the shower, which the curtain allowed water to spray onto the floor during showers.

This place was perfect for us, sitting right on a 19,000 acre Lake. screened-in porch very unique country feel in a log home. probably 15 mi from Mackinaw City we honestly put 900 miles on our vehicle while staying there for 3 days. Petoskey, Charlevoix, Boyne Mountain ,Sheboygan, Harbor Springs, and the UP

You have to meet the owner to check in - would have preferred a no contact check in so you don’t feel like you’re putting him out waiting for us to show up. Location is on the water and great vibe. Bathroom could be updated.
