Blue Mist Mountain Retreat

Relaxing and peaceful vacation.

We had a wonderful time at the Blue Ridge Mountain Resort. Especially our 6 month old Papillion. Her 1st vacation and she wore herself out. Cabin was tastefully decorated and we took plenty of pictures as I was really impressed with the pictures. Cons: Tv never worked, shower no hot water and dripped constantly.

Convenient location - clean - driveway was a little steep

The cabin interior was nice and everything in good shape. We didn't need the AC as it was cool. Plenty of hot water and nice towels but the shower has 2 heads (one a hand spray) but they come on at the same time. At first the pressure is minimal but if you pull the handle harder than you think you should it works. The exterior needs a little TLC. Pet friendly nice with the small fenced area and the front porch gate. The handrail on the frontIs a bit too low which makes that first step down a little treacherous. Dishwasher needs a deep clean as it smells when you open it. Coffee maker very nice and easy to use. Bed was very comfortable and sheets were very clean. Jacuzzi tub was on all weekend and since we didn't plan to use it we would have liked to turn it off to enjoy the quiet. There are no instructions in the book on how to do that. Sliding door screen needs to be replaced. VRBO did not add in the pet fee and if I hadn't read a reminder in the cabin about calling the office to check they would have charged me 250 for an unauthorized pet. My VRBO booking was for 2 adults plus pet. The gravel driveway is steep and you might have trouble if you only have a front wheel drive vehicle. We finally ended up backing up the hill to park at the top. It's located close to a Whittier grocery store and a short drive to either Bryson City or Cherokee. Gas logs inside are nice.

Welcoming cozy cabin with convenience to Cherokee and Bryson City

This cabin was truly enjoyable. It had the right amount of space for our family and small furbaby. It was furnished with everything we needed and the towels in the bathroom were so fluffy and soft!! Beds were so comfy as well. Could not believe how lovely it was decorated for Christmas, inside and out!! Location was great...about halfway between Cherokee and Bryson City...close to both to get whatever we needed. The cabin was very easy access and so quiet. This is the 2nd home we have rented from Great Smoky Cabin Rentals, and just like the first we were so happy!! Clean cabins, great customer service. They have wonderful communication and are so easy to get ahold of. Will rent from them again and again!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was clean and well appointed. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and cookware. Very short drive to Bryson City, Cherokee, and Great Smoky Mountains national park. The outdoor gas fire table shown in the listings is no longer present. The hot tub was clean and worked well.
