Stayed Sep 26, 2025We have nothing but excellent things to say about this property. The pictures are identical to the listing. I personally thought the theming of bears around the cabin was amazing. It gives it an excellent touch and a great eye to detail. The cabin was clean and had all the amenities that you could expect. A grill, stove, oven, refrigerator, washer and dryer. Even has a neat game room area upstairs. The bedroom loft I thought was pretty cool, but didn’t need to use it. The hot tub was very clean and it was a perfect evening for me and my girlfriend. As others have mentioned the last 3.3 miles up to the cabin can be a bit challenging if you have never driven very steep grades. It is a slow go up and then back down. Make sure before you go up, you get your dinner to cook, it takes about 33-37 minutes to get from downtown Bryson City up to the cabin. We stopped at a local grocery store in town. The cabin has plates, bowls, cups, flatware, kitchen utensils, pots and pans, baking sheets, cleaning supplies, you name it. Just bring your food and you’re good to go. The main road, I believe Alarka Rd is along the foothills and is easy driving that winds back and forth around a river. Once you turn off it turns to steep mountain grade with narrow 1 car width wide that is gravel to paved in sections. But don’t let this scare you. It can be intimidating the first time, but it is absolutely worth it. My only complaint is that we only stayed a weekend, next time time though.

Stayed May 23, 2025Great place to spend some time with family. Property is well maintained and clean. I will say it is defiantly off the beaten path, and I say that in a good way. We traveled with motorcycles and we were kinda sweating the driveway, but it turned out not to be a problem at all. The views from the back porch and living room area are spectacular! Little flairs thrown in by the owners made us laugh. (ie instructions for operating the upstairs AC)We rode the Moonshiner 28, and took a ride to the road to nowhere. Lot's of places to eat and enjoy in Bryson City. The Italian Restaurant was a great night.

Stayed Jul 26, 2024This relaxing cabin is just what we needed for our 25th anniversary. Gorgeous views. Extremely quiet, especially when the closest home to it is empty. We found that we didn't even want to leave to go do things. You can spend the entire day just sitting on the porch relaxing. That's a good thing, because getting up and down the mountain is no joke. We highly recommend it, but be careful on the last 250 ft of road before the house. Extremely loose gravel on a steep grade that you have to get a run for unless you have four wheel drive. Vicki responded to us in a timely manner.

Stayed Oct 13, 2023It’s quite a drive to the top but you are rewarded with spectacular views! House is well equipped and had everything we needed for a great stay. I do wish I would have followed recommendations from others about an SUV. While not required in non winter months it definitely would have been more appropriate for the trip up the mountain.
