Ski Access:
Located on the White Otter Access trail just below the White Otter Skier Bridge. Anticipated opening date for White Otter lift is mid December, but the lift may open earlier in the season depending on snow conditions. The lift typically closes in mid April, prior to resort closing. The cabin is not ski-in/out when White Otter Lift is not running. Please inquire for details.
Ski Out:
Put skis on by the garage or back deck. Ski the groomed access trail behind the cabin. Follow this trail along the White Otter chair lift to the bottom to load the lift. There are a few sections of flat that will require poling or skating. Exit White Otter Lift and turn left. Cross to the right of White Wing Run and follow the sign on skier’s right for Big Sky Base Area. This is a hard right and requires keeping up your speed. (Green access)
Ski In:
Follow Lower Morningstar to the SECOND set of Powder Ridge signs on the left. Follow the signs towards the White Otter skier bridge. Cross over the bridge and immediately turn right on the groomed access. Oglala 2B will be the 3rd home on the left. Exit the White Otter access trail to the left, this will take you straight to the garage of your cabin. (Green access)
Parking:
4 wheel drive REQUIRED in winter
Single car garage
Space for 2 vehicles
No parking for R.V.'s, campers, or trailers
The house was great- beautiful location, plenty of room for our group of 12, only a couple minor issues that were easily taken care of (fixed garbage disposal & hot tub). Only thing was the dishwasher didn’t work after the first day or 2
lovely time without hassles unfortunate that the fire place did not work
We really enjoyed our stay in this home. Plenty of room for five adults (can house more), great kitchen set up, and loved the lower sitting room with propane fireplace - very cozy. Hot tub was real nice after long ski days. Once you figure it out, ski-in/ski-out is great (take Lower Morning Star all the way to last cutoff. You go under a bridge then over three, last bridge says White Otter). You can get real lost if you’re not paying attention. Only issues: outdoor grill did not work, fire pit was not covered and frozen over which was a bummer, and some dining room chair backs were broken (be careful when you lean back!). Wood burning fireplace was not working either, though the staff did let us know ahead of time so it wasn’t a surprise. Would definitely recommend this can for your ski trip!
This cabin is another great option off of Oglala rd. We stayed at the cabin next to it 2 months earlier. As with our other experience the cabin was well stocked, management was very helpful and responsive, the cabin was very comfortable, furnishings were as advertised, and the location is completely ideal, especially if you have younger kids that need a safe easy access to the lifts on their own.
Excellent property. Easy access and great experience.
We come to Big Sky every year and have a group of 14 in our family - This was one of the best Powder Ridge cabins we have ever stayed in. Location is superb, the layout of these cabins work so well for large groups - spacious, clean and comfy!
Very spacious, clean, and comfortable for bigger groups. Highly recommend!
The cabin was perfect with plenty of room. The basket of starter items and having some staple items in the kitchen was great. It was a nice home base for our trip to Yellowstone.
Overall we had a wonderful stay. Beautiful setting and beautiful cabin. Plenty of supplies were there so we did not have to buy as much at the store before we came. The only downside was it was a little less private than the pictures showed. But we were never disturbed by any neighbors and it was very peaceful and quiet the entire week. I would definitely recommend this property.
The property in Powder Ridge (2B Oglala) was just right for our family of 12. It is well designed and well equipped.
